I actually always found him funny 😄 but not a good singer. Everyone likes different styles and just because someone doesn’t like it means you need to pray for them! It’s sad how judgmental so many believers are! There are many great singers today in Southern Gospel music!

Jessy had a church in Fort Wayne,IN. I never knew this until a few years back.. I agree with other commenters..he was one of a kind and his voice was that of an angel.. I LOVED JESSY DIXON! He was an incredible artist, amazing voice and gospel-style and I enjoyed talking with him backstage. I was at his concert in London, ON Canada the evening that his mother died. He continued on with the concert and shared to the audience that his mother had passed that day. We were also at a Benny Hinn service in Toronto, in the early 2000s and he was so anointed and we left that auditorium still singing his song! I'm sure that he is a part of the Heavenly Choir when we all get there and get to see the Lord, face to face!
I first heard Jessy when he came onto a Gaither concert I attended. I had never heard or seem him before that night. He came out in a bright Yellow suit, tall lean and when he opened his mouth and began to sing, I saw a man who took total control of that stage and had the crowd standing as he held us all in the palms of his hands. What a voice, what singing, i brought every one of his CD's that night and fell in love with his voice, his gift that God gave to him. Loved him and was always so happy when he would be at a gaither concert. He could tear up that stage and reach right down into your heart with Gods message. Miss U Jessy, but now you have God's angels rocking and tearing up the heavens with so many gaither singers that have gone before you and since your passing. RIP and thank you for all the beautiful music.
Every CD I brought that night Jessy signed them for me. I still have them and enjoy playing them in the car when driving in crazy traffic..I also have them on my iPod. Love his music

However I have to say, that as I got to know, it was like loosing the closest of friends even though we never met, but I had a chance to watch him in one of the Gaithers presentation in Worcester MA
