This song is inspired by the researcher who developed the nuclear bomb. He was distressed, but the experiment continued. Eventually, the experiment fails and he is exposed to radiation. 0:45 If you sleep after eating you will become a beast and you savage if you fade out back to sleep ←This is a Japanese superstition. It means that if you go to sleep right after eating, you will turn into a cow so you should not sleep right after eating. It's used as a metaphor for repeating a mistake even though you know what it is, along with the lyrics that follow.（DeepL translation)

Well it’s really all his own fault they were doing an experiment with a core of somthing but they needed somthing to prop open the sphere so there can be a steady flow of neutrons out the stuck it up with a pencil a bit in it the pencil slipped out and the dude that was researching realized to shut it off immediately but it was too late it had turned into a nuclear reactor for a couple seconds and he realized he’s already dead since he got exposed to a fatal amount of radiation and like 5 days later he died
Also why it says fail and talks about breaking where it matters it’s talking about the pencil

Many people have already said that this has to do with a nuclear bomb. In fact, this is sustained since when he says "burned dreams and salvation, simmer into murder" Surely it refers to how originally the investigations on atomic and nuclear energy were with good reasons, but later they were used to create the chain reactions of nuclear bombs
its very clear its about the manhattan project specifically - marshall refers to either James C. Marshall or George Marshall (i think the first)
The song is essentially about the futility of continuing something you clearly know is bad or not worth it but your innate perfectionism (maximizer) keeps you going despite all the consequences

God I love it it is genuinely so good! The singing is not cringe like most covers of vocaloid, instead, you have a very clean and clear voice that is genuinely pleasant to listen to. Not only that, but I really admire how well you translate the lyrics because this is such a hard song to understand and a lot of the story is implied. My favourite part is the Japanese idiom ‘if you sleep after eating you’ll become a beast. Are you a savage if you fade out back to sleep?’ It just hits expecially hard, having the same vibe like in the original song. I enjoy it so much!
