    I have used Rob many many years ago when I was racing and he is superb. Expensive but superb and when your lookimg for tiny fractions it makes a big difference. We used to do his "Kimi raikkonen" MIRA course, Bruntingthorpe amd Donnington. He used to charge 400quid a day. But reckon itll be a lot more now.

      Stephen, 400quid was back in 2002/3 I used him a lot especially in winter months when testing F3 and alike was non existant in the UK. It was a good substitute to keep practicing in something. He helped me a lot. But last I heard he was £800 a day and thats for the likes of Valterri Bottas and that new lad at Mclaren Vandorne. You'd struggle to book him unless way in advance and he wont just tutor anyone.

    If you want to learn to be fast, you start with a low powered fwd car that will teach you how to not understeer.

    • @liverpoolscottish6430
      @liverpoolscottish6430 Год назад

      If you want to learn to be fast- get a proper car- ie RWD, then you learn about car control, how to steer on the throttle, and how to counter understeer by deliberately provoking oversteer. When you can do that, you can call yourself a driver. FWD is very safe, predictable and completely boring- the safe option for the talentless average motorist.

    Being a teacher myself, I get really p*ssed off about the BS of "Those that can't do, teach" because it promotes the idea that teaching could ever be an end in itself. It also helps to promote the idea that teachers are, in themselves, without worth. Yet if you ask almost anybody, anywhere, who were the most influential people in their lives, there will be a teacher in there. Yet the Anglo society has this absurd notion that most, if not all, teachers are of so little value that we dismiss their entire raison d'être with one glib phrase.
    And that is why I left an Anglo culture with a sigh of relief, because so many others recognise the importance of intellect.

    • @StephenButlerOne
      @StephenButlerOne 7 лет назад

      Marko Bozovic all the reviewers have been bigging the new astras handling up since its launch. My 65 gtc went in for insurance work last month and I had a 1.4 turbo astra, and the handling in comparison is poor, as was the breaks, nearly shat ones-self going down my local country road, it isn't as surprising footed, breaks are poor and it liked to understand as it pitched into corners. Even when I recalibrated for the poor breaks.
      I was underwhelmed to put it politely.

      Stephen Butler TY i dont buy it for handling i get it cu of price so that iz all i need ;)

    • @StephenButlerOne
      @StephenButlerOne 7 лет назад

      Marko Bozovic makes little sense, as it may be all you need, but there are better cars in the same class for similar prices. Surly you would get the best car in the class you need.
      I'm not bashing on Vx, I have one, just the standerd astra has been 'bland' since the early 90s. Both the escort and now the focus is a better car. The though the focus is in need on an interior overhaul. Although the he new astra interior (which was way over due, mine is shite), is actually very poor in real life. This is one occasion when it looks better on camera. Also the one I had, android auto and Apple cp was hit and miss if it wanted to connect.
      The new astra seemed to offer lots but deliver little.
      The gtc offers lots and delivers some, the drive is good, the electrics/enforcement substandard, not great at all, but the new one is defo a step backwards.

      Kiwi here, Rob likely is being kind, he would typically call it a Holden. But as hes in the UK they are astras. Aussie built holdens are different then astra's UK range. Most commonly the holden commodore a 4 door rwd V8 is a very common car, and likey what he drove on the farm in the 70s that he talked about. Over here the commodores are reliable as the best, due to their relatively simple design. While that doesn't really relate to a 2015 astra, to rob the brands a good choice, hes 65 lets not forget and by the state of his phone - likely not that upto date with current trends.
