Skinny Puppy saved my life as a kid when I discovered them in the early 90's. I've never stopped listening. Thanks for everything you have done, Cevin.
Cevin, I'm a 40yr old in recovery and have been listening to SP since I was 15. Skinny puppy showed me anything is possible with music and to this day messing with my synths helps me stay clean... and just like Salvador Dali showed me I can draw anything as long as I stay true to myself.... you showed me I can make noise... um music as along as I stay true to myself... BRaP! 0N!
It's crazy to think that I've been listening to cEvin Key and Ogre and the Dots etc for well over 30+ years. Time has flown by faster than I ever imagined it would but thank the sound gods for blessing my time with the sounds of the greatest creators of all time. I can't even imagine life without them ... Brap on... And Sing While You May.....
;0 and then there's ohgr... :)) also "legend, living" :))... thanks for reminding me to check up on him too!! :) "sunny psyop" is one of my most-played...
Wow Crompton. Nice to see you. Very sweet and intriguing development. Dwayne would have been compelled and rejoicing with you. I'm really proud of you, Kevin. Nice collection of those doll things in the back. Your taste in music, as always, is top shelf. You're an icon. I hope to see Orca at that island off Vancouver. Awesome you included Edward in the compilation. That man is a legend as are you. Truly, my best, your "sister-in-law", so to speak, from forever ago. Hugs to Reanna. ❤
A true appreciation and a vast knowledge base. A fan since the IIV days, my favorite interviews with Cevin are the ones where he talks about the music that inspires him.
I love how his selections are from the late 70s/early 80s. Kenny would have been in his teens/early 20s when they came out. I think he's giving us insight to his formative influences and music that has stood the test of time in his life. No Residents? No Killing Joke? Too obvious maybe? Thanks to cEvin for expanding my musical horizons...AGAIN.😊
:)) he's looking good, fit, and feeling spritely!! :) love that "scientists" shoutout (i'd been wanting to play GTA3 again; crazy to hear him say the best reason i wanted to! ;)... plus i have that "PIL-metal"... i'll hafta look up the rest someday...
I'm 49, and I absolutely loved his choices. I listen to so much music, but when I say my top 5, Skinny Puppy is there and everything they all have done by default. I know it could be called cheating the system, but I don't care. Every aspect of all the music they created has inspired my life. That is all.
At first I was like what's this guy going to sell to us and then he gave the first two picks and I was like okay this guy's for real. Very cool. Wow. I have not listened to some of these. Thanks cK
Thanks Cevin, how did I not know about Portion Control? Their music is less foreboding, more dance club ready pre-industrial which I have alot of time for. I'll be digging deeper into the Legendary Pink Dots too.
Awesome cEvin Key ! Vancouver Canada's Skinny Puppy are one of the most influential "Electronic/Industrial/Goth" bands ever. If it wasn't for them Ministry, 9 Inch Nails, etc... wouldn't exist. Even Grimes (another Vancouverite) gave them a shout out during her Amoeba video.
Ministry started before Skinny Puppy. Cevin was making crap pop with Images in Vogue when Al was already cranking out dark new wave with Ministry (I'm Falling).
The first three I've heard of... I'm found of Scientist myself for dub, some of these totally haven't heard of but will now be buying. Thanks cEvin Key!

Great video! Have seen Edward Ka-Spell opening for SP in 1988 , LPD in Amsterdam and seen LPD opening for Skinny Puppy in Amsterdam Brap On. Skinny Puppy + Amsterdam is pretty cool.

Their records are amazing. Terrific band. cEvin, Ohgr, Dwayne and Dave are all massive inspirations.
You forgot Phil..
cEvin Key's taste in music is fucking stellar.
Very cool. cEvin is one of the guys who inspired me to start making music three decades ago.
