I agree with the organic approach, the best way to learn to play good acoustic strumming is to do it a lot and try different feels and patterns but don’t overanalyze! It’s really not about learning up and down patterns, they really do come naturally
The presentation of the acoustic guitar cannot be surpassed by the electric guitar

Thank you Mr. Stine! You really do help, you and Mr.Schwartz are my main helpers in learning to play better guitar. I'm 52 yrs old and am learning again after dropping the guitar for 23 years. I'm an intermediate guitar player but I feel like I hit a gold mine with all these you tube videos on guitar playing. I find it easy to learn from you tube videos as I heard a lot of people have a very hard time learning from videos so that's why I feel lucky I guess. Keep trying people and if you are very new just learn one of your favourite songs all the way through and you'll be hooked for life, just make sure it's a simple song to play(few chords and all strumming with no riffs). Just listening to you is encouraging Mr. Stine, thanks MAN!!!
