I have the 2021 model (115 in the rear-120 up front) and personally think it's the perfect mix for XC/Trail. I live on Long Island ,NY. So it's not crazy mountain trails but technical trails squished in a small area.
Such a rad bike for your son! Was that weight with tubes? Those XR4 tires are extremely light. Considered them for my latest tire setup but I couldn’t resist the big yellow logo brand.
Your studio audio is coming across mono (I'm hearing just the right channel) while the rest of the audio comes across stereo. Makes your videos difficult to listen to. Consider fixing your studio audio to record in stereo.
That is a nice bike, but it is HEAVY (15.4 kg) for 120mm trail/downcountry bike. I have Fuel ex 8 gen 5, with Fox float X, Fox 36 150mm and 2.6 tires with tubes, that bike is around 16kg, so bigger bike with half kilo difference. IMO bike like Top Fuel with that amount of travel and that heavy doesnt make sense. It should be lighter...
Yea I see what you mean - the top fuel and fuel ex aren’t actually all that much different in frame material - just suspension design and compliments but I do wish the top fuel was a bit lighter but it doesn’t feel heavy when riding
Exactly, i have top fuel 8 2022 in blue, nice bike, BUT the weight its making me cry :-( Got also older 2013 26' full sus with 120/120 in carbon frame ghost amr 9500 and its 13kg and its night and day when i ride this and top fuel. On top fuel i feel like that bike dont want go forward, must pedal harder and feeling of trek bike is worse than older one. Thinking abou changing it to Trek procaliber in carbon with 11,5kg.
@@danielstormy3660 those are different bikes but the PC will feel like a rocket ship but far less capable in the chunk - TF for my son is kinda perfect since he loves to ride tech and jump
Bars are inexpensive, they seem a bit wide for your son.. Could change out/cut, and increase later as he grows.....but it's all feel/preference.....just looks too wide.....cool bike though!!
Congrats on the new bike for your son. Just bought this same bike yesterday for my 14 year old. A great bike for a variety of terrain and trails.
Agree - he’s loving it

I had some issue with my mic on this one - sorry - I don’t think my other videos do that, do they?
