(Correction: the secondary AGM battery in my engine bay is 70Ah. I said 70Wh in the video. Consider the efficiency of AGM, 70Ah is not a lot.)
Got my dual battery linked to a solar panel to absorb some energy for multi-day stationed camp. Here comes the issue of storing this energy.

Thought she was Australian, hence a right hand drive LC she brought from her home
With heartfelt honesty - you’re different, weird, odd, and knowledgeable, with no BS.
I like you for it all. - Please keep it up!
I really like the budget friendly channels. They're more relatable but the way you deliver your info and shoot your scenery is really something of great quality! Love ur honest reviews!
Thank you so much for doing the review for the EcoFlow River Pro! We ordered our EcoFlow River Pro and the solar panel for it after watching this. Can't wait to try them out on the road!
I received my River Pro this week (Sydney Aust). I also got the 2nd battery plus the 160w solar charge panel. I’ve only tested the solar charging. Strong sunlight hit 100w input, diffused sunlight was approx 30-50w. I look forward to testing it out properly. Thanks for sharing your journey
This unit looks amazing, definitely adding it to the list!
That's a really cool power setup. And really simple too
Thanks for the great information. You filled in some gaps of stuff I have been thinking about doing. I'm planning a trip over to the mainland this summer and will be checking out the Overland Garage and Cascadia 4x4. Keep up the great work.
Brilliant review of your EcoFLow system! Thanks much and all the BEST to you and your travels! Cheers from south of the closed border! :)
U r Kool lady! I’m gonna get the Eco flow + battery for camping and emergency- look forward to watching more! Cheers from New Zealand 🥂
Your videos are very educating, I have learned so much from you I’m in Nicaragua be safe be blessed
Very cool, interesting setup. Thanks for sharing 🤙-Josh
Absolutely Beautiful. And I really enjoy your videos im hooked 😸
Jay is a patient man 😂 And u have a jovial personality. Enjoyed your YT channel very much. 👍🏼
These units work great. I have tested mine with the SnoMaster expedition fridge/freezer. I find the voltage stays up in the 13 volt range and have powered the fridge/freezer for over 12 hours on one charge - also quick 1 hour - 80% recharge! Check out Off Grid Trek on line or in Calgary. Great choice there lady!
Very cool setup!
Great info , we a similar set up with a Goal Zero .
Lol. I'll bet that snorkel's useful in those flatlands of Australia. Even so, if your under water that far, dont worry about all of that equipment, your going to be toast with all of that juice around. 😉..
Great vid. ....from the US. Now you can take a breath before you use all the air in your shop.
Sweet ride Chica
Great video! Thanks for the education. I now have a better idea of how to go about setting up a solar energy system on my Land Rover.
Beautiful!!
Your videos are so in depth and make me want a landcruiser just so I can go on trips too! Haha I loooovvee your videos !!!
Landcrusier is just one of the options. Many great rigs out there!
We also have a landcruiser, best vehicle we've ever owned and with 328k still purring like a kitten! Great channel!
What a fantastic review thank you...
Love my cold weather 200ah lithium + Jacker’s , just landed in The Kootneys , two week Covid quarantine and switching my plates to BC 🥰
200ah that's a lot!!!!
Hmm might have to check this batt backup. BTW nice shop..
Thanks for sharing. I have the same setup on my Jeep....except...I have a 1000 Watt 115 Volt inverter that I installed in the Jeep. The 1000 Watt inverter is wired into the 12 Volt battery of the Jeep and is powered up when I start the Jeep. I charge the Ecoflow with while driving with 115 Volts from the inverter. Basically, this takes the charge rate to over 600 Watts the same if you were charging at home from the wall. This works really well! May have some losses through the inverter, but there are not too many other ways to get this much power this fast back into the battery. Hope this helps.
I can totally wire up a power system like you shown in the picture from overseas. Ive been installing stuff like that in Gov Communication vehicles for 30 years. We have to go to school and get re-certified every couple years in Soldering / Electronics assemblies. Multiple battery setups on slide trays with 12 /24 volts. Invertors/converters ,battery diodes, Isolation setups, dual alternator and battery kits. Maybe I should start a side business. :-)
Oh ya Canada don’t have automotive specific electrician cert
Brandon at delusional mobile audio could do that power setup you want he's a master with electronics. 😃
Hey Monique great video
I think you’ll find that your redarc bcdc will work much better if you mount it outside the engine bay.
The REDARC BCDC 3 stage battery chargers will work to full capacity up to 55°C ambient temperatures, then start to de-rate (reduce charge rate) up to a maximum of 80°C, with the current reducing to zero at around 85°C.
Yes definitely thought about that but it's also best to have it close to the second battery.. When I got the vehicle it already had a second battery setup in the bay..Tiny tray can't fit much of a battery, I already don't like it.. Thanks for the detailed info! something to keep in mind when rearranging my power setup properly.
Once things return to normal you may want to check out old ghost towns. Don’t know if you have been or not but Barkerville BC is amazing! Also my wife and I did the Alaska highway in 2003. We loved that trip. We went to Whitehorse and then drove down into Skagway Alaska. You of course can venture farther into the Yukon or Alaska. We took the Stuart Cassiar Highway back. So picturesque! Especially the emerging fall colors, no bugs, and some of the first snow falls around Whitehorse. We went at the end of August for 18 days on the road. We always want to go back!
Berkerville is definitely on the list! For when i go up to the Arctic Circle.
Oh Man that’s Awesome! You will not be disappointed! Don’t miss Liard River Hot springs Provincial Park and Boya Lake Provincial Park were 2 of our Favourites. We left it too late in the season to make it to historic Dawson City. Most attractions closed Labour Day. Next time up we plan to make sure to go. Life long dream is to make it to Tuktoyaktuk. Your trip would make great content!
Oh forgot. Google sign post forest in Watson Lake. It’s on the way. Make sure to bring a personalized sign with you. We put one up in 2003. Doubt its still there unfortunately.
@@KayBertoss Thank you for all the recommendations! I'll definitely check them out when i have the chance to go up there!
@@OverlandLady one last tip……. We bought a copy of the book called the “Milepost” for our trip. It was very informative and helpful in 2003 before the days of the internet. It still may be relevant in 2021 as its packed full of helpful ideas and tips.
“The MILEPOST is the best-selling travel guide to Alaska and a "quintessential reference" for northern travelers. The MILEPOST includes mile-by-mile descriptions of more than 15,000 miles of road in Alaska, Yukon, Northwest Territories, British Columbia and Alberta. Its 600-plus pages detail accommodations, camping, fishing, gas stops, restaurants, attractions and services found along the highways and byways of Alaska and western Canada. The guide's Travel Planning section answers frequently-asked questions about travel in the North, including what you need to know about crossing the international border, traveling with pets, the Alaska ferry system, driving conditions, railroads, tours and wildlife. Suggested itineraries are mapped out to help travelers plan their trips”.
Great overview, thanks for sharing! #powergoals lol
Man, does hands... betcha she can crush a walnut with one hand! 😆
only in your dreams ;)
I mean, wow!!! You are very pretty and have tons of great knowledge! I'm so grateful to have found you! You're a gangsta! I hope you flood RUclips with subscribers! Ima share you as much as I can! Defiantly looking forward to everything you can post! Question? How old are you?
Monique you are so awesome I love your channel I will be coming to California Sunday beautiful City
I just found your videos and so far I like them. May I make a suggestion?? Instead of breaking out the torch when starting a fire buy a couple of BIC lighters. Last a long time and much smaller, and much less to dispose of when used up. Stay safe. I live in the southern U.S. and we have some really nice mountains and beaches down here if you get tired of roaming around America's hat.
S’pretty Cool Lashes! What model of the induction stove top. Wanna test it out.
Luv your vids, please tell a bit about your two way radios…
I have a uhf/vhf radio. More info here ruclips.net/video/EM9CsfNomy4/видео.html
Wow I would be interested to see how your induction goes, my understanding is those things suck a lot of power really quickly. Also redarc red vision is amazing but massive over kill unless your running a caravan or massive motor home . You can run a big red arc system with bucket loads of power for half the price of red vision. I’m happy to run you through it if u wanted
Seen many people use them on truck/utes. I find red vision more critically useful when you have built-in water tanks... other stuff I can live without a centralized gauge..
@@OverlandLady I agree. I use a redarc 1500 W inverter, 50amp dcdc , and a DCS 200 ah slime line lithium which has built in BMS . AND A solar blanket I can do plenty overlanding with that . Simple and power for as long as you want .
Legal muito bom parabens
what style of method's you going to put on your rig??? i like the 703's 18"
First I’ve heard your vehicle’s name!
Have you heard anything about the overheating issues?
Thanks for the video! Do you have to disconnect the Ecoflow each time you stop driving?
I was looking up reviews and other ppl said the xboost drops the voltage, did you have any luck running the induction stove?
That’s a pretty cool concept to have a slave battery when you already have the other station that takes care of all the supply ports. Did you find out if the external slave battery was able to charge solo?
So far haven't found out =/ maybe an adaptor
How have gas prices effected your traveling?
seeing as this video is a lil older now u probable all ready know to beware of the 1800 x boost its basically make w.e ur using run off 600w and can damage sensitive electronics if its like a heater or something u can get away with it..im torn between this model and the bluetti eb70s as it has the lifpo4 batteries and the ecoflow river pro uses lithium ion which have a higher risk of exploding but i love the extra battery to bump u up to 1440 and everything on the ecoflow seems more polished its just the cells holding me back
the xboost somehow tricks the appliance to be able to run on lower wattage. Not all appliance takes that. But my 1000W air fryer run it just fine. Just need to fry a bit longer since it’s essentially less wattage
Hi! I’m an EcoFlow guy myself. I have the Detla and the River Pro (like yours) without the extra battery though. I can understand the induction being a cost savings, but they use a lot of power. I would be curious to know how many Wh it uses. I considered it, but just went with a propane/butane stove because I thought an induction would take up too much of my daily battery or if there was no sun for a few days, etc, etc.
Ive got that same blinker too. LOL
Unfortunately, you cannot charge the extra battery on its own. I’m not sure if you can charge both fully in one day via solar since it can only take 200w input. They should have made it so you can charge it separately, other brands that have add-on batteries like this are able to be charged on their own.
That one induction i showed in video was faulty so i returned it. I use a 1000W air fryer to cook. Each meal usually 20 mins, thats about 77% left on the battery. Enough for some other charging and run my heated blanket overnight. I actually haven’t needed to use the separate battery…
Can that 100watt solar panel on the roof connect straight to your EcoFlow pro?
The hood solar takes MC4 connector so yes as long as you have a cable
@14:35 Going induction = more efficient than a microwave and uses less power than the stated full-power level . . . . my 1800 watt Duxtop induction cook-top usually runs at 700 to 850 watts for most normal applications. IF you run at full power it will make the pan (bottom) too hot causing food to burn/stick to the pan before the top layer of food is even warm ! ! (Full power great for heating water quickly but lower power levels for most other uses). BUT, induction cooker great choice over propane ! !
You are such a beautiful lady.. 😊
And I LOVE that you love the outdoors!!
Great info. Thanks Monique. Ecoflow link is dead for me. Can still navigate the site tho.
The link goes to the US site Ecoflow River Pro. I explained near the end of the video that river pro is not available outside US.. it automatically bounce to CA site which doesn’t have this item😅 i had to use VPN to get to their US site.. wish they can make it more flexible..
@@OverlandLady No worries. Let us know how your new setup works for you. Looking forward to your thoughts as I'm trying to decide which fridge, how to power it etc. Keep up the great work!! :)
@@wunderlostbc In terms of fridge, the ARB Classic II works well for me. Low amp draw and you can charge with 12V in the car and pre-cool at home on the household socket. My connector is hardwired to the secondary battery.
Hey what suspension setup were you running at the time? Your landcruiser had a good stance considering the weight from all your bar work and drawers.
Terrain tamer heavy duty pro shock suspension. Need heavy duty torsion bars and springs to support the weight
@@OverlandLady Never heard of the suspension brand! Thanks👌🏽
What did you use to stick down your Renogy solar panel to your roof rack ?
3M double side tape
@@OverlandLady ok great will look for some heave duty 3m tape.
I’ll bring an extension cord next camp trip so I can steal some power 🔌💡
what is the 40v Ryobi battery for?
Chainsaw
Have you weighed your vehicle? I had ordered a rear wheel carrier for my 100 series but weighed it and found before fitting I was only 20 kg under GVM!!! Oooops
3ton easy.......
👍
Maby just a litle two much comodity. Yes I may be old scool. Learning every day sethimg new. 🍻👍 u and in Australia they use just DC. 😉
too bad the link doesnt work and it doesnt appear available in Canada yet. I would have bought one. Or if your discount code worked on the River Max that would be cool too. We'll keep shopping for a different brand I guess...
The river pro is only available for US. When it sense your IP you may have been bounced to Canadian site automatically which doesn’t have the River Pro item... i had to use VPN to stay on the US site to see it. wish they are more flexible for that matter
Yup, you have to have “blow dryer” capabilities outdoors. Check marked! 🤣 ✌️🇨🇦
Hello, the capacity of river pro is rated at 720Wh - how does that translate to Ah please? A standard leisure battery is 110Ah, how does the river pro compare to that?
If you calculate it based on 12v - it's 60AH, so with the additional battery that's a total of 120AH, most of which is usable compared to an AGM that can't be cycled as deeply. Many people miss the fact that this isn't just a battery - but includes 600W inverter, MPPT solar regulator, AC charger, DC charger, regulated 12v (13.6 actually) outputs and multiple 5v USB outputs. So you need to compare it to a Battery, plus all those things hooked up, and suddenly the battery & accessories are taking up lot of space & weight by comparison.
Is there a link for Overland Garage?
overlandgarage.ca/
Why are you charging the Ecoflow battery from the Optima and not the start battery,
My 12V in the trunk is wired to my secondary battery. So it’s constant on even when the car is shut. Same as my fridge, all connected to second battery so it runs independently as starting battery.
@@OverlandLady ok so assuming that the Ecoflow has a low voltage disconnect or similar consider this scenario.
You have been camping for several days and both the optima and Ecoflow batteries are fairly discharged. You start driving and the bcdc is putting 25 amps into the optima. Your fridge is cycling so pulling around 4 amps, it appears that the Ecoflow pulls 8 amps, (I am not sure if the extra battery also pulls 8 amps or not as well) but over half of the output from the bcdc is not actually going into the optima and I doubt you would drive long enough to fill both Ecoflow batteries and the optima.
my guts tell me the stats don't add up - but what do i know... "ITS COMING"..
The link to the EcoFlow site is broken. The product is no longer called “Pro” from what I can tell (it’s called Max?) and the coupon code doesnt work!
The river pro is only available for US. When it sense your IP you may have been bounced to Canadian site automatically which doesn’t have the River Pro item... i had to use VPN to stay on the US site to see it. wish they are more flexible for that matter
@@OverlandLady too bad. I like the features of the ecoflow over the Jackery or the Bluetti.
😉
I think her lashes have a mind of their own.
I was falling Way behind.
And I'm sure that you don't read or respond to messages anymore. I completely understand why.
Hey Monique, thanks for the power info/idea, just for your info, your link from the video description does not work (The page you requested does not exist).
If you are outside US, the link may not work for you... I mentioned near the end that River Pro is only available in US.. it bounces me straight to canadian site which doesn’t have this item. I had to use VPN to see it. Wish they are more flexible on that
I just love the fact you don't use the instructions either 😂
Devils advocate: At what point is the hobby about the stuff, and not the journey?
the point where you stop going out & just buying stuff...? same idea as only buying lenses and showing pictures of the lenses instead of photos took from them.....
You should’ve said happy Easter, it would have Hurt you. Come on just say happy Easter.
you are gorgeous ....i enjoy the channel for sure
i want 2 do your hair, out in the wild, what kind of hair, Hair-Glass
That's LAW!
ps- no your hair is beautiful but i need out of the house! honesty is me
Ecoflow sucks. Even though it charges faster Its only let's you use 75% of it's battery capacity. Other power stations let you use 85%.
Why are all the overlanding vids,,, nothing but a 20 minute advertisement ??
This is not an overlanding video. It’s a vehicle power system setup update.
👍
