Effectively, by him stating that some people are not ‘normal’ or are not ‘equal’ to others, it’s not a stretch to say that he wouldn’t provide them the same opportunities nor treat them the same
I don't think it's discrimination to believe that sex Ed should be a science lesson on reproduction, not every sexual proclivity.

Back when it was introduced when I was in primary school it was the religious fanatics who went berserk and OTT about us “being sexualised” and having sex. And nothing could have been further from the truth. I found it helped me adjust to a challenging time and when I was a teenager those lessons helped me understand what was happening and why. The same will be for those lessons now.

I think a problem in the discussion is the way the word 'normal' is used. Many people use it in a value laden way. Statisticians would use it in a non value laden way, just to describe what represents most instances.
Yeah, but he's not a statistician, talking about statistics. Just listen to the rest of what he's saying and you'll understand that he's definitely not using the word in the mathematical sense, eg when he talks about 'protecting' his children from LGBTQ+ education.

When I went to Israel back in ‘84 I went to enter a church whilst wearing a hat. I was asked to remove it whilst in the church. The next church I entered I removed my hat before entering and was asked to put it on. It’s seems god can’t make up his mind if it’s right or wrong to wear a hat in a church … exhausting.

I don’t think George had a ‘meltdown’, he did what he always does and gave his opinion. I tend to agree that children should be given a chance to enjoy their childhood. He is right to point out that children should know what is ‘normal’, I.e. not hurting people, not stealing etc. Children with same sex parents will regards this as normal. Children in a heterosexual family will regard that as normal and that represents 97% of marriages in England and Wales.
Regarding the preferences of 97% of the population as ‘normal’, makes sense.
George also said that he does not decry the preferences of others.

Im a socialist, and I agree with him. No sexualising under 12 AT ALL ! Its kids ! And I dont believe in self certification of trans either. Allowing a man access to women's spaces, as women have already been raped in prisons because of this ! I dont care if its law, it needs changing ! I do believe in gay rights and gay marriage and equal right's but not under ANY circumstances hetrosexual or homosexual and esp trans for primary school children under 13. I also despise all religions too.

I find it weird when people single out sexuality as something that shouldnt be a core aspect of an individuals expressed identity when those same people generally dont condemn others who choose things like religion, politics, sports team affiliations etc to be core aspects of their expressed identity. Gay isn't 'normal'. But it isn't bad either.
It is unfortunately rather a popular view especially among the older crowd: gay people should be jolly grateful to be tolerated, but they should not actually expect the same level of input that "normal" people get. And the fact that they have to speak in careful code when they say this means that they are being oppressed somehow.
It has created a large reservoir of petty resentment that politicians can tap into to get votes.
What does history tell us about societies that have one or more groups demonised by zealots who value "conformity" above all. Do those societies thrive in terms of development and innovation or do they retreat into isolationism and hatred of foreigners. Guess!

Normality is a behaviour that can be normal for an individual (intrapersonal normality) when it is consistent with the most common behaviour for that person. Normal is also used to describe individual behaviour that conforms to the most common behaviour in society. Galloway is correct
He and don't get me wrong I do like Mr galloway, but he did play a not insignificant role in the Scottish referendum of 2014 by practically guaranteeing the Scottish people of a imminent Labour government in the upcoming general election to influence the no vote. And we all know now he was so wrong, and he has been wrong on other topics aswell.
George's life views are old-fashioned to say the least. His stand against Labour on Gaza, however, is a different matter. It was great to see Sunak squirm after his victory in Rochdale.

Context is everything. He said "not normal" in the relative, narrow sense of how procreation is enabled in nature. GG is a humanist. Talking from a primary school perspective, having taught for 8 years, we've never taught that there are 70+ genders - I don't understand where this has come from. Would be good to hear examples of schools Galloway has seen and heard have this taught and whether this is explicitly in line with their curriculum

Even if your partner divorces you, you must subsequently remain chaste, as you are still married in the eyes of the Church and any sexual relationships beyond the bounds of your marriage is pure adultery. Galloway's relational history is just as abnormal as any gay person's relationships in the eyes of the Church, and usually actually receives far less sympathy from Christians than gay people do.

Because that phrase in itself is idiotic. Nobody can 'identify AS' anything. You either ARE, or are not, that thing. Both sexual orientation and psychosexual identity are hardwired. It took SO long to begin to get people to understand that it's precisely NOT a case of somebody 'choosing' to upset their parents by being gay or waking up one morning 'deciding' to be a woman. But the current LGBT so-called community is now full of people whose entire thing is to turn a characteristic that you are born with into some socio-political counter-culture statement. Who say in so many words that 'anyone can choose to be trans' which makes as much sense as saying I can just declare I'm Filipino. Pushing nonsense like 'I'm xyz just because I say I am' is diminishing acceptance, not increasing it. Acting like in order to be gay you have to be a walking caricature covered in pride flags and in everyone's face about it is doing the same.

LBC didn't play the transgender part and it was still controversial because he refused to recognise gay relationships as "normal" . Also "transgender theory" sounds a bit American right.

He is very very clearly saying that he doesn't want his children being taught that same sex relationships are as normal as heterosexual relationships. As far as I am concerned every relationship between two (or arguably more) consenting adults is normal. Now my preference is for a heterosexual relationship, but that does not mean that I would care if my daughter's school had taught her to respect all relationships. As for explaining transgenderism in school, I hadn't given it much thought, but I do firmly believe that barring a certain subject is likely to lead to taboo subjects that lead to some people feeling marginalised.

@@geraldgeaf1292 I grew up to be "gay" in a World and at a time were homosexuality was not only consider a sinful abomination, but was actually illegal. I didn't dare tell my parents or my friends, certainly not my teachers. The shame and fear continued through my entire adult life - even though I was well aware I had nothing to be ashamed of. Nobody is suggesting kids should be taught how to be "gay" - that is just utterly ridiculous, you cannot teach someone their sexuality. But children should learn that it's normal and acceptable that some people are born that way.
