Well at least the mice have taste by invading a Jaguar, time for the Big Cat to catch them 😁😁😁 Richard so good to see one of your videos again I know you run a business and that is more important, but it's great to see what you do. Unfortunately it appears no one can do their job these days I have had issues with Autosparks with bits missing wrong connections and if you jump up and down until your blue in the face you get a half hearted response. Whilst I am sure you know by now, but being a MKII freak the pipe on the inlet manifold feeds vacuum to the brake booster. Yes its MKII Steering wheel. IF you need help with MKII parts let me know.
Hi Richard. Nice to see another video. Too bad about the mouse house. Hopefully the smell will go away after using some kind of product. I had an otter get in my boat at Canoe Cove. What a mess and stench. Luckily it's an aluminium boat so no damage, just lots of cleaning. Nice work on the black XKE! And a few bonus parts from the hoard. Cheers
I bought Auto Sparks harnesses for my restoration and I found they included a few wires for Right hand or Left hand use on the same harness. It's an efficient way to manufacture them I suppose. I just tied off the ones I didn't need. I did not have two wiper motor cables so it may be an error as you said.
The problem you are having with the boot lid seal is due to the new seal being sold by the various Jaguar parts vendors simply being too thick. There is a post on the Jag-Lovers forum showing a seal that is very similar in profile to the original and it fits and seals well without making the boot lid protrude and difficult to close. It is available from COH Baines and is their part number DX100. It is sold by the meter and I purchased four meters for my '64 OTS but you could probably get by with only three. It fits and works perfectly and is actually cheaper even with shipping from England than the one that all the Jaguar parts vendors are selling that doesn't work.
Regarding the "extra" light green/black wire for the washer pump motor on the LHD harness: Yep, I also found that the "correct" wiring harness for my '65 xk e-type LHD roadster, had the extra wire as well. I just taped it up and ignored it. For the longest time I thought I had screwed up and order the wrong harness. Nope,...it was just the way they made it. Probably so they could sell the harness to both the LHD and the RHD markets at the same time, without having to maintain double the stock numbers and storage. i.e., kill two birds with one stone...Not sure though...maybe the loomer just screwed up when they made a batch and decided not to scrap the day's production...(hoping no one would find out and/or care, haha).
I appreciate all the tips, particularly the glass installation lesson. In case you haven't seen it yet, visible @52:50, the E Type fuel tank has "SIII" written on it.
Sad to see what the mice have done to foul that old '62 E type. With the hoarded parts, I believe that old saying to be correct, "one man's trash is another man's treasure". How do you track all that stuff down?
Hi RMO, great video, that harness issue looks familiar. I am using Autosparks for all my cars and did have exactly the same issue. Sometimes I find it difficult to the explain problem as they are not familiar with the cars. And we do know, Jaguar continuously changed something on the cars. Sometimes it is a real mystery how those harnesses are fitted. But hey, in the end we get them all running to our satisfaction. Funny enough, on a very early unrestored car, I found such an (extra) wire for the reverse light, attached to outside of the harness. Someone must have forgotten it in first place. On the black OTS I see some mounting brackets at the window chrome, are those for wind deflector or mirrors? Any good? 🤓
Hello Richard ! Congratulations for your helpfull video. I saw in your stock some nice steering wheel. I need one for my 1962 OTS. Is there one still available ? Thanks.
Your windshield install AND the sugar scoops install are the best I have seen yet on RUclips. I'll be doing this on my '65 next year. Thanks. One question regarding your captive nuts (for your chrome trim screws). Do you think it would be good to apply anti-seize compound (or something similar) so the nuts won't corrode? I understand it is almost mandatory to re-thread them, but the previous owner removed all of his nuts (probably due to rust) and put in those funky press-in nuts. I'm having to cut them out and spot-weld in new cages (most of mine were actually missing) with new floating nuts.
Hi Richard . I swear l could smell the mouse pooh ! It's certainly a priviledge to be given these beautiful cars to work your magic on . That screen was a riot ! Certainly hope you didn't use a razor to remove the excess sealer !! And l think those radio's came from VW 's ? Thanks Richard
just noticed, you have the chrome trim on the top of the windshield already installed on the glass. do you recommend doing it that way or did you do it that way just because it was the original glass and you didn't want to disturb the seal under the chrome which is NLA?

Hi Richard, just watching you pulling all the parts from your boot. The rad is MK2 3.8 or 3.4, worth saving!
Mike
Hello Richard! And once again you worked carefully. This will be another wonderful car to drive on the road👍. Best regards from Hans and Cheers 🍻🇦🇹.
Good to see that your daily drive is a Mazda - a very good little car, and less demanding than a Jaguar.

Nice stash. (Listen to your dad. Blaupunkt has only one L, and emphasis is on the first syllable.)

When the cats are away, the mice will play.

I know this is slightly off topic, but what is your favourite variant of 275 GTB? There are so many I find it hard to choose between them…
Yes that was cool Peace out
That poor Jag.
Some nest. Some rat. Some car.
Jacks Stype and 420 classic saloons
my Autosparks dash harness was wrong too. But, in. a different way
The mice have no shame :(
