  • Today we continue our series on a brand new automation simulation game called Oddsparks where you have to make some little minion friends called sparks and use them to automate your assembly lines. Today in episode 5 of our lets play Oddsparks series we start a new base to be able to make sparks faster and play around with some of the new pathing items that we have unlocked!     A very nice tight implementation of logistics using filters and one ways. I expect I would have resorted to splitters and crates but it would have been more spread out and used extra pathing. I will take note of this solution with my only suggestions being adding crates to the few straight sections of path 3 long at the start and ends being replaced with path, crate, path for further buffering, separation, and speed reasons.
    If you get a moment to experiment, I have a thought... Do Items travel faster or slower on a long straight path being carried or if the path is segmented with minimal paths and crates? The test being to setup long runs of both paths at equal lengths to see if the sparks throwing the items is faster then them walking the item. I know the crate path would take more materials and sparks( maybe 2 per path segment to match or surpass regular path speeds), but it would be an interesting idea to test both now and later game when the carry sparks are upgraded to hauly sparks( carry sparks with stone wheels) on stone paths( increased speed for all sparks on the path).
    There is future tech that allows you to "activate" and "deactivate" the sparks from and to token form so maybe that's what the pen can be used with, I did not see if you tried to path into the pen instead of along side of it.
    BtW: Other future tech lets you harvest leaves forever from the big trees for fertilizer and remember those bigger trees can be chopped down with choppy sparks so you don't have to path around them.

    loving the content, solution to the bigger trees that is in the way is to use your sword sparks
    to have them harvest the bigger trees.

      I can’t believe I didn’t try this, it would have been so handy to know sooner.. oh well half the fun is making a huge mess and then having to clean it all up.. stay tuned for more spaghetti! 😂

    1 path is already a loop, you don't have to loop; all of the 3rd row is redundant.
    just disconnect the paths no need for crossings, if they don't have wood they turn back.

      I realized this later than I should have but this system does have a perk of not needing to be upgraded when we unlock the larger sparks

      ​@@Zahait Oh I haven't seen the larger sparks yet.
      In anyway the method of factory making in this game has an essential efficiency problem I would take too long to explain...
      It's due to the fact the sparks are basically belt pieces.

    I'm so confused on how to split the sparks so I could just use one path then split it into two if they had the right requirements

      The splitter tile can evenly split sparks between two or three paths
