  • Carnegie SVRA was closed due to a devastating flood January 1st and just as repairs were being made several more storms created even more havoc in the park. Finally on April 14 the park opened to the public although much of the park is still closed due to the flood damage the park staff and volunteers worked hard to restore what they could to get it opened and work will continue to restore all the damage. So for now ride with caution as there are still some areas not identified and try to ride with a buddy and be safe.
Thanks to the entire park staff and volunteers for all your hard work to make it happen!
Funny thing, I didn’t know my camera was filming during this video and I’m glad it did because it showed some of the damage done to the area known as The Devil’s Buttcrack, hopefully we will be able to ride through this area again.

I was thinking that looks exactly like my bike! That is my bike sitting there at 6:35 in the video. We were walking down to investigate. Thanks for not stealing them! :)

Hey! I was just in that little pit the video opened up on today. This video makes the line look so much more manageable, it's a big ol' drop off into the canyon.

Yeah it’s not too bad, I think it’s easier than it used to be.

@@nytrydr2 It looked like a drop straight down in person, but I'm a novice, so I guess I just don't know to let gravity do all the work.

My group is there today, I couldn't go but I'm sure they're going down the crack, but from what your video is showing, it's looking like you can't even get through. Did you happen to see the drop-off? Can't wait to see the rest of the park. Next weekend!

I only walked to that one area where the actual decent into the Devil’s Butt crack starts or go right and climb out.

I may go back this coming week and check it out further down the crack. I’m retired so kinda avoiding the place on the weekends its just too peoplely for me on the weekends 😝
I will take some video when I do so stay tuned and be sure to subscribe to the channel. Thanks 👍

Oh you can go the whole way down. We did it yesterday. It's a bitch but doable. We cut most of the trees in the way but two. You can throw your bike up and over the thick tree pretty easily. When you get to where the side hill climbs start, the ones if your starting from the entrance to carol climb and make the first left, you want to make sure you exit there! Go further and you end up at new fences and we weren't sure if you can get out. But you can push through 99% of the way down. Fill your water bag up first and definitely don't do it alone. :)

@@nytrydr2 not a lot. I posted it on GTR. The video of Rick rocking his bike back and forth is the best place to exit. We walked the whole damn thing first to make sure. It's very different than it used to be. I couldn't even tell where I was at.
