I'm only 30 seconds into watching the video but I felt compelled to pause it to say - THANK YOU for posting today Holly, I had a rather large and rather painful tooth extraction at the dentist this morning (nervous patient) and your videos are just the right amount of funny, interesting but also calm that I need to help me chill out this evening and aid my recovery. I've only been watching your videos for the past three months or so but you're definitely my new favourite channel 💕
Loving the daily vlogs. Long may they continue Holly (at least for the next few days!!) ☺️ Especially love how encouraging you are of your Pa. Good on you both. He’s a natural horseman and you’re a natural teacher. Looking forward to the day when you’re both competing at a show x
OK, I just have to laugh at how you mix up the horses names. Between my kids, grandkids, animals etc. you don't know WHAT name I'm going to call you on any given day😀. My oldest son and his family just came for a visit. He has three sons and a male dog, and I just laughed so hard at how often he got their names mixed up. Maybe it's genetic? LOL!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Or a sign of genius? We'll go with that theory😀❤💕💖
I really love your channel and your videos! I've gotten scared of jumping in recent years so I only do dressage nowadays (which I prefer anyway) but it's so lovely seeing other people jumping so well. I could only dream of having a seat as good as yours. Keep up the awesome work and I hope you and the horsies are doing well :)
I’m loving the daily vlogs! 🥰 Welbeck carries herself so beautifully. She is stunning. Actually- all of your horses carry themselves so nicely. Her expression as soon as she got her eye on the jump was awesome . She just locked on it and was ready to go!Welbeck looked so relaxed and content at the end with those nice lengthy stretches. Your Dad and Fiona are such a great match. I can’t wait to see the schooling vlog! 🥰🥰💕
It’s such a shame you didn’t get chance to breed her as she’s a cracking mare. Lovely to see her back. I have a chestnut gelding who is very similar and he’s 19 and still mad with jumping. Sadly he’s semi retired but in his day he would not concentrate if there was a pole out.
LOL she jumps like my mustang.. vroom over the jumps and speed away .. what helps me is stopping after the jump and making her stand, eventually, they stop rushing over..
When watching holly ride I realise how much rubbish is talk whilst riding along. 😂 she is so quiet and then there’s me who ends up talking about Random crap 😂😂
Thank you for the video! I has to find my horselove back today😧 New 4 Year old stallion run away when we were Walking and ripped the skin of my fingers, cause i want to hold on😥😧😂😂Bad day 😐😂😂💓
This is exactly how my 21-yo gelding likes to act when we're jumping... Once that excited turbo button gets pressed there's no way to slow him down again *sigh* He's getting better at listening to me though, at least I'm not riding a freight train now haha Any tips you can share on calming them down in the long run? We've halved his grain, and we're jumping him (over low rails, before anyone jumps on my back) 3 times a week so he stops freaking out at the sight of a pole. On the flat he's fine. He gets ridden 6x a week and has daily turnout if the weather permits. Over jumps he's fine until he touches one or something spooks him, then I'm riding a firecracker the rest of the ride :S Any tips would be welcome!
AkkaVoskuil honestly, I’d just try having a shorter rein at any point he gets to exited, and keep it short until he calms down. If he gets more exited get a little bit shorter (but not too short so it’s painful or anything) and use a longer rein as a reward. Try doing some gymnastics with him, and doing an extended trot over poles and such leading up to jumps. I hope this helps ❤️
I have some different advice, though who knows what will work with your horse. I find that if my mare is feeling hot or nervous, holding her on a tighter rein will just make her even more anxious. Often, if she's having a hard day, the best way to calm her down is to put her mind to work, doing lots of changes of bend and transitions.
Thanks to both of you! Generally having a longer rein and not really 'working' him too hard before jumping keeps him in a calmer state of mind. Changes of bend and transitions have the opposite effect on my boy, he gets a lot hotter. I will try the shorter rein while jumping, i like the idea of using the longer rein as a reward :)
I’m sorry I don’t have any tips with Welbeck because it’s just consistent work that gets her chilled again. It’s hard to give advice without being there in person. Best of luck though!
Are you an only child Holly?? I have been watching your channel for a long while now... Finally felt compelled to ask you!! Ps. I love that your dad rides with you! I always wanted someone in my family to be another “horser” sadly, I’m the only one in my family!
I love when your dad is in the videos he’s so funny and your chickens 🤣🤣🤣

Welbeck has so much energy. 😂
It's so fun to see your dad's progress on Fiona, he looks like such a natural!
Welbecks ears give me life especially when she’s trotting round at the end x
Control was present 👍 goal achieved
Purple suits her so much
Love how you encourage your dad!!
I love your chickens and your horses! Your dad is a great rider!
Jordanna Price same first name😂🤙
Omg that’s awesome 😃😂
I've been binge watching your channel for 2 days lol I'm hooked! Such a sweet girl and the way you treat your horses is just gorgeous.. Lots of love x
10:41 “She just sees a pole and gets sweaty” 😂

Oh man I’m so bad with names! Even my friends I get mixed up 🙄 I think I’ll go with the sign of genius too 😉

Welbeck looked so great in the vlog she has a very nice jump, very neat and tidy.
Ooh Welbeck is soo prettyy! and that shine..🤩

Haha she definitely locks on! Thank you ☺️
I keep forgetting you're doing daily vlogs and it's so satisfying every time I see a new post 😂

welbeck has always been my favorite
Wow I’m very early 😂 love welbeck and well done for staying on that very excited horse 😂🐴😘😘😍
The chickens are so cuteeee!!! I don’t know why I’m so fond of chickens but I love them!
Same! I love them so much 🥰
loving these vlogs!!!
What breeches are you wearing in this video? I notice they don’t lift off your back awk when you jump which a lot of mine do 😂
Pikeur but I don’t know what type, sorry!
LOL she jumps like my mustang.. vroom over the jumps and speed away .. what helps me is stopping after the jump and making her stand, eventually, they stop rushing over..
She is so beautifull horse. All your horse is 😍
My mare is like this and find it really difficult to control. I want to take her xc but worried that I won’t stop 😂 any tips?
Same here- like crazy mare I wanna do xc with but it’s like, I’m scared not of jumping but slowing down-
Welbeck holds herself very well when she moves
When watching holly ride I realise how much rubbish is talk whilst riding along. 😂 she is so quiet and then there’s me who ends up talking about Random crap 😂😂
Hahah I think it’s the pure concentration 😂 you should hear me when I’m out hacking, I’d say I sound crazy 😂
I have done it hacking out with a friend before and I didn’t relise I was babbling along
Is it just me or does the saddle tip you forwards slightly?
No, I’m leaning forwards on purpose to be as soft and light on her back as possible to help her relax :)
@@HollyLenahanSJ Okay, thanks for the answer! :)

Wellbeck is like my pony sparky but she rushes after the jump instead of to the jump
