Not really, if this was done with gallery oil pastels, you would've been surprised. But cheap pastels also have their own uniqueness and an great artist knows how to take advantage of it. This is why they can creat wonderful masterpieces like this with anything.

Instead of black, you can use
- prussian blue for the background.
- prussian blue for grass.
- prussian blue and dark brown for tree trunk.
