I've had 8 Harley dressers 3 goldwings and misc bmw tour bikes to include the 05 k1200lt and my 2012 Victory Cross Country has them all beat in handling rider comfort and storage.... can afford any motorcycle I want and I would choose this one again without hesitation.
+Gerhard Jinks Ugly is in the eyes of the beer-holder. How much beer have you had? Yes I thought so. I think most Harley's are ugly because I'm not into retro. Doesn't make either of us right or wrong, just different.
I'll give you that beauty is deeper than the surface but it's the first thing one sees and I need to look at my bike and enjoy it. Beauty can't be quantified and some cant see it but that doesn't mean it isn't intrinsic to some things and lacking in others. The Arlen Ness Victory designs did a good job of covering a nasty core. Victory starts with one of the worst looking engines and doesn't seem to even try to make the bike better. That's one of the reasons their sales aren't very good. I do like the Indians though and would consider one (not the scouts) in the future if the supposedly unreliable Harley ever dies.
+Gerhard Jinks I guess some people like the trophy wife that every one in the neighborhood has ridden. Good for show, but you'll go hungry and never be satisfied.
I owned an 09 Victory Vision which is a good bike as is the CCT. Polaris how ever hasn't kept pace with Harley. There very, very little change or upgrade to either bike in the last several years. Harley however has made substantial changes and refinments to their FLH line up. When you look at the 2015/16 CCT it is almost the same bike as the 2011 which I believe was the first year of the CCT. I looked at a 2015 Vision after my 09 met an unfortunate demise and the only difference was paint & antilock braking. It had the same small side bags, one way stereo speakers, no Bluetooth, or navigation. my new FLHTK has all that and then some. Here is Las Vegas we have four dedicated Harley dealers and one Indian/Victory dealership.
+J.A. Jones LOL. When will Harley catch up? Silly pushrods and out dated tensioners. I own a Victory CC, and I've been on those liquid cooled Harleys. When you put your legs down beside either one, in stop and go traffic, they both get really warm. Not a notable difference. That happens when you straddle an engine.
+Benjay1975 true, these kinds of bikes are useless, they dont lean well. if you wanna tour, just get a K1600. Its a touring bike, that handles and feels like a sportbike, and at the same time very comfortable.
+David Visser I have toured on both types of bikes, touring cruiser, and sport touring bikes. Yes the sport touring bikes are more fun to ride (shorter distances), but there is no comparison to a cruiser touring bike when it comes to comfort for you and a passenger. That goes for the big Beamer too and forget about the Sprint. Neck, shoulders, butt, and back will make you regret your decision to do multiple day road trips on either of the aforementioned bikes. I love my Connie 14 for solo overnighters, but I take my Royal Star Venture on multi day trips. But then again I'm 62, it might not be as big a problem for you younger guys. Just my 2 cents.
+David Visser Nope. This one doesn't feel heavy at all. In fact, the Vision is more nimble than this one. How do I know? I have a XC and have ridden the Vision.
Like someone said...might as well buy a car. Also the overall construction looks cheap. Just look at the fairing and foot windscreens. I own a 2015 Kawasaki concours 1400. Now THAT is a touring bike

+Nathan Jessup Kind of like marrying an ugly woman because she cooks good.

Lucky you
Good review. It helps when both pros and cons are included.

Love the Hill Country
I'm going with liquid cooled HARLEYS. When will Victory catch up. The hell with that rear cylinder heat....

David Visser or even something like a Triumph Sprint... totally. yeah a K1600 BMW is the biz.

Victory please liquid cool these bikes not like Harley semi liquid cooling but a 100% liquid cooled bike
+Sanandan Kinkar Why? They run fine.
I live in a hot country
+Sanandan Kinkar no thanks man. air cooled all the way. if you get a cruiser you have to try and keep it classic.
Nah, I'll pass on cruisers, I'll stick to my K1600GT
cool. you do you man. we all have different taste. ride on and stay safe
