Don’t know how much i can grow this year. 6 months of non stop rain, only 14 days when it hasn’t rained and on those days it was overcast with no sun. All of my seedlings are behind, and the forecast isn’t going to change for non stop rain until the end of May. This is not normal.
Agreed Lula, terrible year so far. I've been indoors growing since Xmas and I've got fresh tomatoes and baby aubergines already, peppers getting flowers on. I'm not much hope for outside crops this year, doing my best tho
Problem in the UK is the sun cant be relied upon, great in general over the years, but locally you can be wiped out I anticipated this so bought land in portugal, middle of winter is like spring in the UK , problem is middle of summer is like death valley, but if you can survive that its heaven, relatively cheap and you can grow food all year, if you have water, perhaps a polly tunnel will help, good luck.
One thing I would like to highlight that seems to be occurring here in the UK is a "weather Lockdown". 2023 was a washout where it seemed that only 3 weeks in June were totally dry and the trend seems to be even worse so far here in 2024. I honestly think tat it is by design using weather manipulation. Th farmers are suffering with wet fields and people seem to give up on everything when the weather is continually this miserable,
It's true. During the 2020 lockdown that march til July the weather was best I've seen in decades. They must have manipulated the clouds and give better weather as that was the only reason people submitted to the lockdowns they could sit in their garden all day. If it was like last year or this year they would have had a much harder time locking folk down when the weather is rubbish and they have to be stuck inside
Neil, maybe they lifted it with one of those lorries that have an arm to lift a vehicle. I lived in London for 20 yrs and saw such lorries, I never knew if they were Council lorries lifting untaxed vehicles or if they were stealing.
Don't be scared. We moved to Canada in 2005 at the age of 40 and 45. Canada didnt work for us after 9 months but we knew we weren't going back to the UK. Went to New Zealand on the chance we could get work visas and have been here ever since. First time you move country you don't know what to expect but you don't have any fear the second time.

A friend of mine was a Psychiatric nurse on a secure ward. A career burglar told him he wouldn't break into houses in the sticks because people watch out for strangers, they have guns and dogs. He would park up in a small street and watch folk go off to work then kick in the back doors of multiple properties. I live in rural Thailand with no neighbours we have dogs and means of defending ourselves. We sleep with the screen door we are never flash ...the perfect grey man we live in a modest tiny home drive a 27yr old Mitsubishi truck that can be fixed by anyone. There are people here that are flash .. Thai wife loads of gold jewellery, flash new truck etc..they get targeted for robbery.
I would like to buy some new clothes but every time I put them in the shopping cart, I think of a thousand other things I could use for the garden. I end up throwing the clothes out again and buying the garden tools. I never stopp prepping.😅
I have a van and sign written vans are next to never stolen. So get them sign written or put stand out strips on them, vans or campers. Makes them easier to spot or trace.
Hi guys, I sub to both of you. I'm in Anglesey, the problem here is that a huge proportion of the property here is owned by "out of towners" and are Holiday Lets! Most of the more "rural" properties command ridiculous prices, but if you travel inland to areas around the borders of the Snowdonia National Park it is possible to find potential off grid properties for a reasonable price. The time is fast running out to get a rural place for a reasonable price. I lived in Shetland for a few years and a similar thing has happened there.
one of these days the UK people with rise and pass reasonable self-defense laws...and maybe similar to US 1A and 2A. Scotland is now (after April 1st) crazy against freedoms and opinions...imagine that ! Welsh "leaders" against their own farmers another.
I have a little bit of news. On the outskirts of a town near me, They started to prepare for new houses to be built. This started over 2 years ago. During this time people have seen plenty of site vehicles and private cars coming in and lots of prefabs on site. But the surprising thing is that not a single house has been built, despite plenty of activity on the site.
This is happening near me , a friend is a bricklayer and said there is no work , he had visited 14 sites looking for work and they are all scaling back or stopping altogether
@@greens5734 Sorry I don't think I explained it well enough. There are plenty of people cars and site vehicles coming in and out of the site. As if work was in full swing. But no houses are getting built. Not that there is no work. The traffic that comes in and out of the site slows the by-pass down to a crawl.
Its so frustrating knowing what things are going on around you yet their are others around you/me noteably family/partner who seemingly have no idea nor are they interested in talking about such things,just get passed of as 'conspiracy'!!!!

Last time I was in the UK (last summer) I was able to use cash but it was much more effort and nobody expected it. In the Decathlon shop they only had cashless self checkouts so I had to line up for 20mins at the customer service counter. Also the younger generation don’t understand cash. I bought two soft drinks in the pub which came to £6 I gave the guy a £10note and a £1 coin and he said “it’s only £6” and looked really confused. I said can I get a £5 note back and it took him a while to realise I wasn’t scamming him.
Move out of urban areas, even if you have to get a buddy with different skills to by land. Do anything now, and get right with the Lord. Do ever take a right hand chip or mark.....

Grocery shopping at a different store from normal so went round slowly seeing what different long term food items I could get. Great advice from two top guys! I am going to hopefully move somewhere more rural. I am waiting a short while though for the crash that is coming then I should be able to buy something a lot cheaper. I currently live in a sizeable UK city, likely the fourth largest in the UK, and I have three nuclear targets surrounding me. One of them is a mile away, the other is three miles, and the third I'd have to avoid on any escape route if I survived. I have to admit I've been thinking of leaving the UK altogether.

They passed a law here in NZ similar, but nobody really followed it unless you already had a special licence category like "E" where you already had to have various types of firearms registered. "E" was pistol grip and no limit to mag capacity. Plus ar'nt they clamping down on even shotguns over there? From what I have heard with cheap 3D printers, and the basics to make a Luty or the likes of a BSP-gun globally, that would be more of a worry.
