Hey guys, I hope you like this weeks video! Have you conquered your flash yet? If yes, what do you love most about shooting with it and if it's a no, what do you struggle with the most?
Unfortunately I have no clue what I'm doing with my Godox V1 Flash, and now I need to reset it. SMH...not sure what I did, and why I even bought it, knowing I didn't understand the lighting aspect of an external flash. How do I reset it back to TTL? Please help.
@@danielleburks4436 Hi Danielle, sorry to hear you are struggling with it, sounds like its the setting up/pairing of it that is not working for you?
I had to fiddle a bit with it too but I found a few turorials that got me started. You reset it by pressing the two middle buttons under the screen at the same time. I might make a tutorial on setting up and pairing it with a trigger soon.
@@munkcreative Thank you. I had finally found a video in reference to my question. Lol....my patience was getting the best of me. I appreciate you responding to me.
@@danielleburks4436 So happy to hear that, I get it! Hope its all smooth sailing from here ☺️
This video was really relaxing and helpful. Apparently you don’t need many lights to create stunning images !
I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed it! And nope, you don't need much at all to create nice image ☺Sx
Thank you fro this, this was so helpful, I just bought a Godox V1 and from watching your video just realised I needed the trigger too, so now I can't wait for it to arrive so I can play around with it!
Best part of your video is the RAW and edits side by side. 👍🏽
Thanks!!!
Absolutely wonderful video!! The images were STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL ❤️
More power to you!! Keep making more content!!
oh thanks a million Aman! I really appreciate that 🧡🙏☺️ thanks for watching along! Sx
I like the shots very much and the model is doing her job well. congratulations.
Fantastic video. Getting the V1 for OCF for sure. Thank you so much
Thanks for the video. I learn a lot about flash now especially the high speed sync.
So glad to hear that! Thanks for watching along and happy shooting ☺️✨🧡
I'm going to get this flash today, this was so helpful, thank you!
Yay! glad I could help! I do love the Godox V1 but you can use any flash :) Just so you know! Sx
Thank you so much for all the details listed by side!
Glad it was helpful! I will take note and do the same in future videos. Thanks for watching :) Sx

Hey thanks so much!! ☺️
So helpful thank you ❤😊
Aaw my absolute pleasure! 🥰Sx
Useful info! I got v1 as well 👌🏻
So glad you liked it! Sx ☺️
awesome!
It's currently winter here in Canada so there isn't that much light atm. However, I have been using flashes a lot. Both on camera and off camera. This video is amazing and so helpful when it comes to shooting in really bright days! And in a couple more months it will be spring and summer here in Canada and this video definitely helps once the bright natural light is back!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it and that's it is helpful :) Thanks heaps for watching! Sx
Hola. Me encantó este videotutorial. Muchas gracias.
Hi Hector, so glad you enjoyed it! 😀Thanks for watching along Sx
Great video! Doing a lot with so little! Shows you don't need all the photo gears in the world to take great pictures. Just work with what you've got but more importantly, understand how to use what you have in different situations.
Thats a great take away! Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much for your helpful video, I would love to see more tips for v1 kisses from 🇧🇷
You're so welcome! I have just moved into a new studio so I will for sure make more V1 videos :) Sx
Great Job☺
Thank you Rogerio! Really appreciate that 🙏😊
Simple and best 😊
Thank you so much! ☺️
Very nice guide!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the video and the clarity. Do we expose for the background BEFORE activating high speed sync on the trigger?
Pleasure! Yes, expose for the background first, and then turn on your trigger/flash to fill in. Hope that helps! Sx
Thank you so much!!!
Aw you are so welcome! 😊
Thanks!
Bravissima 👏 bel video
Hi Gianluca! Thanks a bunch for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed the video☺Sx
Very Nice 😊
Thanks so much for this helpful video, it was exactly what i was looking for with the V1. I like how you just used the dome modifier. Easy setup and very helpful on a windy day. What are your thoughts on using a shoot through umbrella or softbox for these lighting conditions? I’m trying to get better with ocf to be able to shoot confidently at different times of the day and to get a tiny bit of light on my subject when shooting backlit. Thank you!
Hey T! So happy to hear you found it helpful :) You can totally pair the V1 with a shoot through umbrella/soft box with this setup and the lighting conditions - you will get a larger light source and a lot softer if you keep close to your model. Just make sure you weigh your light down or have someone to hold it for you on windy days. Happy shooting! Sx 😃
Thank you for getting back to me, I did use it with only the done diffusor and added the bounce card to bounce more light down. I’m really happy with the results. There are some shadows under the neck that I’ll will soften but not having a light that will take off in the wind is great. I do have 5lb rice bags but i didn’t have to lug them around!! Thanks again!!
nice video subscribed!
Hey hey! Thanks so much! Thrilled you enjoyed the video☺️ what was your favorite part? Sx
Great video. How do u lock exposure without flash and then using flash? There is Not a new “exposure reading” when shooting with flash on!? Thanks
Helpful video! I have learned a lot over the years about photography. I am an artist and I share my painting demos and studio visits here. So much to see and hear on RUclips. Have a great day!
Hey thanks Kendall! So happy to hear you found it helpful and yes, RUclips is a great place to learn and explore :) Thanks for watching :) Sx
Have you tried the Godox ad-200? I love the v1, but the ad-200 is crazy good!
Lovely video. What I needed to see wrt the v1. I would like to know how this compares to the godox AD 200. Also which light stand do you use for the V1?
Thanks so much and I'm really glad you liked it :) You can use any light stand, just use the little "platform" it comes with it. You can screw that on as long as the stand has a screw at the top. No idea about the AD200 sorry!
Great video... But I've had nothing but issues with this flash. When it works it's great, but I never know if it will fire. It was great the first few times I used it, but has gotten so inconsistent. Such a bummer. I used it tonight and tried all my tricks and it would fire, then it wouldn't. 😭
Hey! Sorry to hear that, I've heard of others having the same issues. Do you know if it's a channel/connection with trigger issue? Could you take it back to the place you purchased? I know that sometimes "batches" of things can be faulty and the manufacturer will only know if we bring things back. It definitely sounds like a factory fault, let me know how you go. Sx
What mode do you have your V1 in? Because when mine is in the Orange mode i have no option for high-speed sync
How do I override the 1/250 shutter speed? & your SOOC photos would be more popular in 2024 than edited! 😊
What stand and attachment are you using to mount the Godox V1?
I have the same trigger and I set it to H for high speed sync, but do I have to do something in my V1 flash? Cause as soon as a raise the speed beyond 250 camera isn't capturing the flash. PLEASE HELP
Oh that's very strange. Can you share a bit more about what your other settings are? Is the flash still firing? What kind of lighting conditions are you shooting in etc? It's really hard for me to know what's going on without more information but I'd love to try and help :)
Hello, may I ask why you didn’t use a softbox? I am about to buy my first flash and your video was very helpful! Thanks
Too much to log around! And I wanted to show what you can achieve with just the flash :)
Stine can you do a video on how to check for highlights? I don't do that and I know I need to but where to start?
If you mean to make sure you are not blowing them out, You can always bring up your histogram on your camera to check. And if you try to avoid a big difference in exposure in your image, you will be fine. Sx
Hey could you link your flash stand and your flash trigger ?
Nice vídeo 👍new sub
Woo! Thanks so much for the sub! So glad you enjoyed the video :) Sx
when you said the flash is at 1/8th of a second....did you mean 1/8th power?
yes! But the power output depends on available light so make sure you experiment and see what you prefer
I like this video.. and it is very helpful.. but
when you take a picture... Post the picture.. right after..
so we can see.. at the same pose/picture you shoot it...
Thanks for the feedback!
Hi Stine, what stand are you using to hold the flash?
Hi! Im just using a standard, cheap light stand. I think I got it from Ebay about 10 years ago. The flash is attached with the little black shoe it comes with. Hope that helps?
So I just need to buy a transmitter to use the godox light independantlg
that is correct :)
but what are your camera settings? I'm till confused...
Be careful for the direct sunlight on v1. The lcd screen may heat up and blackout for good.
Thanks for the feedback!
I am looking how to have connection between my camera and Godox flash if is not mounted on the camera ?
you need a flash trigger that will trigger the flash for you. I use a Godox one that is then paired with the flash unit☺️
@@munkcreative Lovely, thank you so much !
@@havefun37g36 my pleasure 😀
Where can I get these presets?
Hi! they are Archipelago Presets, do a Google search and they should come up :) My affiliate code is no longer active but they always have great discounts going anyway!
shouldn't you gel the flash instead of fixing it in photoshop?
there is no fixing anything in PS. All I do is colour grade with my presets.
i think using ND filter much better
you go for it!
I'm sorry, you need o work on your editing skills, check how he highlights are blown and colors of clothes washed out.
thats kind of funny.
It's 1/8th power, not shutter speed!
sorry?
