6 months ago I was a 20 year old with absolutely nothing extra in my pantry. Today, after watering my garden and stocking my pantry, I watched a past video of yours and you mentioned “think about how prepared you were 6 months ago”. I wouldn’t be where I am without your wisdom! Thank you ma’am!
I was at the walmart the other day buying preps and the young mom in front of me in the line was noticing the cases upon cases of canned goods. I just politely schooled her while waiting and told her to just prepare like a hurricane is coming cause its just like that! I could tell she appreciated my words and i think she woke up a little. I told her just buy a few cans every payday and soon she will have a stocked pantry! Our young folks need our wisdom, dont be afraid to give it! They are watching and listening to us more than we realize!
My husband and I learned our lesson the hard way a few years ago. A few days before Christmas, our bank account was hacked. The bank had to completely shut down our account to secure it. It was locked down for weeks. We had very minimal access to our accounts. We had no cash and I hadn’t even shopped for the holiday meal. Luckily, our 22 year old son was able to give us cash until out account was working again. But most bills were paid a bit late. Not doing that again!!! Cash back up now.
Went down and got some money out today. My hubby and I had been planning on doing this anyway after we paid our bills for the month. :) Thank you for everything that you do for all of us!
Make sure you have a few thousand in small bills and change. It came in handy with an approaching hurricane and a total blackout. The registers did not work with no power and credit/debit cards were useless. With exact change and a small flashlight, I could get what I needed when everyone else was holding their plastic. .....
My mother passed away last month, she was the last of 6 children. She was 93, part of the greatest generation. She told me stories of my grandparents , when the great depression happened. My grandparents made sure my mom and siblings had food on the table. My mom didn't have many toys, some dolls. My mother told me where she was when Pearl Harbor was attacked. She was at an amusement park called , " Playland" in San Francisco. That night there was a blackout on the west coast. At that time, San Francisco was a military city, Treasure Island Navy Base. She was at the parade for the military celebration. My mother wax an amazing lady, love and respect for her. l
I'm from Canada. I saw what happened up here first hand. And I can honestly say, if you don't have some cash on hand at all times, then you need to have your head examined. I watched people yelling at cashiers and swearing and cursing as if it was their fault because you didn't have enough sense to have cash on hand. And if you believe this won't happen again and it can't happen to you then you better give your head a shake. Because just watch, it's going to happen again and again.
How many years ago did the same thing happened? A few years ago I can't remember, Rogers owns most services or pays to use other small companies lines.
@@vickyjohnson1121 I'm not really sure when it happened last. But it will be happening a little more as all these companies are upgrading their systems for what's coming. You are a darling. Love your spunk! Blessings to you and yours. My Mother told me over and over again, "You can lead a horse to water but, you can't make him drink"!
As far as I know I am the only one in my family and acquaintances that have made any preparations for an uncertain future. Several years ago a very good friend advised me to keep some cash on hand for emergencies. She had experienced a hurricane that hit New Orleans. Thankfully she had on hand some cash so that she, her daughter and newborn granddaughter had a way to evacuate the city. Gas stations were only taking cash!!! No credit or debt cards. They had enough money to drive to relatives in another state. I learned a lot of valuable wisdom from her. I feel blessed to have called her friend.🥰🙏
Thank you Patara..I did go to my Credit Union today and got cash. I ask my cashier about the money situation and she said that I was doing the right thing having cash on hand. She even recommended that get smaller bills, no 100's.
My Granny and MaMa and heck my Daddy always had cash on hand. They’d tuck a few bills in my pocket before I would leave the house. 🤗. Preach it Ms P!!!
Oh man, when I was a kid, my mamaw (born in 1922) would stay with us while papaw was on a hunting trip etc. she always slept in my room and once I went into my closet looking for something. I paid all my bills over the weekend and now I have an empty bank account thanks to FJB. But next time I get paid, I’ll keep a little cash on the side. I have silver, but I want to hold onto that. Thank you Patara for giving us sound advice. P.s. thanks to you I paid ALL my credit card balances off (last one was paid off on Saturday), so at least I have that going for me.

You are so right. If these people lived in hurricane areas, they would know this. It can be many many weeks when banks are closed as well as stores and gas station are not opened. You better be prepared to have the things you and your family need to survive for a month or more until things back to working. It is just good common sense to be ready for the unknown. Wake up people before it is too late. Get your head out of the sand and pay attention to what is going on right now in our country. Keep preaching the truth. You go girl. Yes we keep cash and we are fortunate to live near a small country store that still has the old gas pumps that has no card reader and is not computer connected. They came in handy after a Hurricane and power was out, so cash is king!

If you can't get to the bank to get your quick cash out of the ATM, the next time you are at the grocery store stocking up on your five cans, ask for cash back at the checkout :).
Hey there little firecracker! Absolutely love your content and delivery. You're same age as my oldest child. I'm a 62yr old grandmother and love listening to your no nonsense way of talking. Please never change. Sharon from Oklahoma
I wish I could give this a million likes! I don't always agree with Patara. But I will never leave a disparaging comment on her channel. That's unfair to what her ultimate goal is of helping folks get ready for what's coming.
For past several years I have been keeping enough cash on hand to take care of my family for at least a few weeks. Came in handy when debit system went down across Canada on Friday. There were a lot of grumpy folks unable to get their coffee on the way to work or put gas in their cars.
The kitties are beautiful love there markings. Pray without ceasing and continue remaining mindful at all times. Trying times are here. God is still in control no matter what ♥️♥️.
I love this channel! No bs! Tell it like it is. I'm 69 years old and I'm telling you nobody's going to do it for you. Even some friends and family you think will be there for you can magically disappear. Keep up the good work. I always look forward to the next video. Thank you.
You are bang on with this advice...I am from Canada and we are in deep do-do over here. Thanks for speaking the truth and providing wise advice. We are always using cash and keeping some on hand to have at home. Sh*t is happening these days and better to be safe than sorry!
Some people I know don’t have a dollar in their pocket. They pay everything with a card. My husband and kids traveled 8 hours away and my husbands card didn’t work at the gas station because he never travels in that area. I handed him cash thank God before he left.
I told my family months ago to pull money from stockmarket and keep cash on hand. Now theyre crying in their beer! They just assume since I have very little money and no money in stocks I dont know what Im talking about. Ive been listening to smart ppl🤗
The market is always going to have ups and downs. If they can keep investing steadily during the recessions and depressions they will come out ahead in the long run. Buying during a recession=buying stocks on sale.
i just have to say this....I LOVE YOU! Thank you for shooting from the hip! You have me rolling on the floor laughing hysterically....on my 71st birthday! i love the way you s p e l l it out! Thank you and keep on rocking! ❤❤❤
You are real and you remind me of myself. I am Cherokee and Choctaw and I have such a fierceness about me! I also grew up eating depression era food, so it’s nothing new for me. You feel like my sister. Bless you!
I'm not one to ever comment on any videos but I just have to tell you I just truly love your videos! I love how you just tell it like it is! You have such helpful information. And I can truly relate to what you are saying. Thank you and God bless you!
When God has called you to something he has already considered who you are. Keep being who you are Patara, and keep sharing everything you have been. It is God speaking through you to warn his people. I appreciate all your videos.
Yes i needed to hear that message this week. Although i have an inventory spreadsheet. My preps could be better. Working on a rotation setup now. Keep it up y'all!
Girl, told my kids this months ago. Showed them how many institutions were “down” and people couldn’t use their card (debit or credit). Also took pictures of ATM’s in our area being down several weeks back when I went to get $.
Plus, having cash on hand is important if the internet goes down or the power grid goes down; remember credit and debit cards will not work. But vendors may still take cash....if they're still open and doing business.
If credit/debit cards don't work their is a 75% chance SNAP WONT WORK EITHER. ( snap use to go down separately but if internet is down snap won't work as the machine needs it to electronic remove funds from a card account to apply to food purchase at the time you are USING THE MACHINE TO PURCHASE. You don't get to use food if you can't buy it. Use it to stock up on canned goods that you can't get for free pantry. At your local discount areas and buy on sale as much as possible. It makes it go a lot further.
Being in South Central Louisiana, I can tell you that after a hurricane I have worked in stores, without electricity, allowing 10 people in at a time and the employees and myself used calculators to add up the purchases and to add tax. But yes, we were still open for our communities.
I'm laying in bed , fixing to go to sleep and a light bulb went off. Dear lady you are the teacher that a lot of people never had in public school. Don't stop your words. Thank you
Patara, Be blessed this day as you tell people the "TRUTH" ♥ TO THE PEOPLE READING THIS--It doesn't have to be a government crisis, a personal crisis, can damage YOU, stop you in your tracks and you will not be prepared for it and you really can't expect someone else to step in and fix it for you, IT IS ALL UP TO OURSELVES, TO BE PREPARED AT ALL TIME TO CARE FOR OUR FAMILY!! I am a 73 year old woman telling you that Patara is right!!!
Absolutely - thinking all scenarios! We are preparing...And if nothing happens, then I will have a pantry full of canned homegrown food (and store bought food) for easy suppers after work for my family and a lot of flour for making your delicious biscuits!
Patara, you crack me up😂. Haven't kept any $ in the bank for well over 5 yrs. Keeping life simple is just better for me. Bills are.rent, car insurance and telephone. What's left is discretionary and nobody needs to know what I buy at the grocery store or anywhere else. Protecting my freedom as best I can. God bless you and family and homestead. 🙏🏻
I can't believe people would make that argument. Is there really a single person that hasn't needed to go to the store for milk just as the power went out? If you don't have cash, you don't get the product.
This is a warning; I have a friend that told me about his friend that I have met, his words, the friend stacks cash and silver for his children when he dies. My thought do not tell anyone what you do in these times. Hope this helps.
We have about a year's worth of cash at home. The bulk of our $ is in our local CU to pay our contractor to build our home. No, I'm not real comfortable with that but I need to be able to write checks... Btw, we're prepped and debt free. I'm prebuying as much as I can for the house. It's going to be modest with multiple backups, a garden area and chicken coop.
We were going to do the same but with supply chain issues and price increases, we decided not to build. Now looking for a home that is already built. Are you having difficulties getting your materials? We would still like to go that route but are afraid it would end up costing a fortune!
@@CA-7 I ordered a Barndominium a year ago. Our problem is all the contractors and subs are backed up. I've been collecting the important stuff and am fine with everything off the shelf and nothing custom. I'm very flexible...
Thank you for this!!!! My Mom was upset that we butchered our first chickens today. She said you don’t need to do that I’ll buy you chicken every week. 🤦♀️ no one is understanding what we are doing. It’s gotten pretty lonely since moving to our homestead in December
ooo my goodness! wou mean i hav to do it myselt? patara, you honey are the best!! brw i made your appalachia's biscuts tonight, i have found heavens cafe! thank you so much. ( i took out the pencil and paper that is right beside the computer to write it down, like real people)!
The dollar will never be worthless... It might take $100 to buy a loaf of bread if times get really bad, but your house payment will always be the same, it won't go up with inflation. Keeping enough on hand to pay that payment means they cannot take your house.
my dad always told me to keep cash on hand and the gas tank full, and of course I didn't listen and got caught in 2 terrible situation. Last week, when Rogers went down for a couple of days, no ATM at all..you needed cash for gas, groceries etc...thankfully I HAD cash on hand,
hi patara 🤗 from the time i first knew what money was, i was taught to ALWAYS have cash on hand. unfortunately, common sense has not been common for DECADES. my grandmother's generation seems to be the last SOLID one where the majority of Americans had common sense on everyday life matters. i guess the great depression, and growing up in a different culture does that to people. of course, a percentage of us born after 1950 have some common sense about some things, but dare i say, there is a select few that think and LIVE in the mindset my grandmother did...and still does. at 98 years young, if there is anyone i would take into these lean times, without a fraction of a second of one thought, it is her. thanks for sharing truth and common sense with the sass that is needed at this point in the game.
My mom is 98 and so thankful she is still with us. She is at her home and the four of us daughters share the responsibility of caring for her since she is fairly helpless physically and can’t be left alone but her mind is still pretty sharp.
In Canada, last Saturday, we had a countrywide break of service both internet and cellphones from as certain provider; debit cards - dead for a day. So, what if it happens for a week or a month? You say it, Patara!
Pinball was funny today!! sometimes just hard truth needs to be heard!! made me realize my pantry is getting messy time to go threw rotate and get it back in ship shape ord3r again.
If you have a secure place to put it, you should keep your emergency fund at home. Banks are not paying interest on your money. Above and beyond the amounts to pay bills, you might as well stash it.
20 yrs ago in my daughter's economics class the teacher insisted that it was our duty as a society to buy on credit. "It helps the economy." She refuted him. It's important to have a savings account and to stay out of debt. The teacher argued but she did get a B in the class.
Hallelujah, Praise the Lord and pass the collection plate! I went and did it! Thank you for loving us so much you tell it like it is! Love you and all you d! Keep encouraging us! Love you! ❤️😘🤗😂🙏🏻☺️
Totally agree. The last three years has created such a spirit of laziness across this country. People were taken care of for awhile and now just expect it. There is a rude awakening coming and I appreciate your efforts to deflect the blows coming our way.
Girrrrrl I love your content and I am a Canadian! Majority of the people in my age category (30s) in Toronto are chasing big houses, fancy condos, new cars and extravagant weddings in this economic climate and boy oh boy is it scary. I try to get them to see the bigger picture but unfortunately people don't like to listen until it's too late. Recently our debit machines weren't working and people had to resort to using cash and credit only...which some people don't even have. Crazy times ahead...stay safe and keep up the truthful and informative content!
Just a note to the ‘Go Nads’ you have. My wife and I love it so far. It is a breath of fresh air to hear what you share. Keep it up. You now have two fans and accomplices that have walked this path as ‘EarthWalkers’ for many years. Many Blessings, SpiritWolf and WillowSong.
Been socking away a few here and there but this mornings video had me down to the bank doing what felt right for me! Thanks Patera! I’m confident it will pay off no pun intended.
I live in rural northern Alberta, Canada and let me tell you, I was completely taken off guard when I was driving to town on little gas and seeing all 3 of the gas stations in town only taking cash/credit because the debit machines were down. Thankfully, I had $30 bucks cash on hand and that got me to the next town where I was able to stop at the bank. That situation made me ask myself if I am really prepared for the future like I thought I was. Thank you for the video
Defenatly my girl. I watch everynight as I water the gardens and every day I do something to be more prepared. My best fella valls me the food collector but he is very pleased I got stuff that is now insanely expensive here in sweden
Never apologize for speaking truth. A lot of the people who are rude are Trolls. And those who are not trolls are stubborn & used to having things done for them or brainwashed to believe that they can rely on the Govt. You keep trying to help people - if they don't appreciate help, then they won't survive. God Bless you 🙏
Patara, you have the most EFFECTIVE videos! Those deer, your cats, animals, OH MY WORD! Those light up my day! Toughen up buttercup, this is a REAL video that makes more sense and this isn't a "feelings" society here. Yea, Independence is FREEDOM, and Freedom is POWER!
I love your channel!! I also love your point of view. I am trying to keep my son's on top of things and I have told them to keep cash. It may be just for the times when there is no able to get money out of the bank. I am going to keep at them the way I know how to get the message across without getting their backs up. Love you babe 😊
Thank you for being so frank and direct in warning as many people as possible of the coming crises, appreciate all that you are doing. Let those who have ears hear. No time to waste, get your feet moving!
I'd like to share the best financial advice I've ever received, from my now 84 year old mama. Start stashing SMALL bills. One's, fives.... NOT twenties. BECAUSE, when SHTF, you can wipe your ass twenty times on twenty ones, and only ONCE on a twenty. There ya have it! :)
Patara, You are encouraging and driving people to be prepared. Helping them to see how they CAN do it without breaking their wallets. Teaching those to garden, harvesting, cooking, canning, caring for your animals and how to raise a good honest and loving family. You are such a blessing! Loves from Oregon 💚

Tell it like it is. Don't change. No sugar coating anything. Love your videos as they are
Hey there little firecracker! Absolutely love your content and delivery. You're same age as my oldest child. I'm a 62yr old grandmother and love listening to your no nonsense way of talking. Please never change. Sharon from Oklahoma
Right on, Patara!
You've never offended me, even when you poke my blind spot.
I appreciate your wisdom. Thanks for sharing!
I wish I could give this a million likes! I don't always agree with Patara. But I will never leave a disparaging comment on her channel. That's unfair to what her ultimate goal is of helping folks get ready for what's coming.
You hit the nail on the head.your a very wise lady.
For past several years I have been keeping enough cash on hand to take care of my family for at least a few weeks. Came in handy when debit system went down across Canada on Friday. There were a lot of grumpy folks unable to get their coffee on the way to work or put gas in their cars.
@@kingscairn A longer planning period is definitely better but we all have to start where we are and work with what we have.
“Banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies” - Thomas Jefferson
Jefferson noted that standing armies don't charge late fees.
I’m from Canada too. Yup and yup. Our gov HATES US.
Wise on you're behalf. Perhaps next time they will heed to your warnings.
Happy birthday from Ga

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just love this channel. No need to beat around the bush, if you can't take the heat...Get out of the kitchen!!!!
Yup! I am an accountant and I too recommend to always have cash on you.
Keep doin you sister.... We appreciate your honesty and independence....
When God has called you to something he has already considered who you are. Keep being who you are Patara, and keep sharing everything you have been. It is God speaking through you to warn his people. I appreciate all your videos.
Yes Keep sharing. I totally agree
Oh wow what a wonderfully profound comment & soo True!! Preach it Patara!! 👌
Amen
Amen.
I loved pinball kicking me into gear. I know where my stuff is but have no inventory. Major procrastination. I’m on it.
Me too. I started going through some of my cabinets today and will be taking inventory.
Who is Pinball? Does anyone have a link to his platform?
Same here. When he said that I went, "uh oh". It's true. I need to organize.
Also took pictures of ATM’s in our area being down several weeks back when I went to get $.
great idea
Plus, having cash on hand is important if the internet goes down or the power grid goes down; remember credit and debit cards will not work. But vendors may still take cash....if they're still open and doing business.
Bring your portable generator?
Our local gas stations have no fee ATMs, not hard to grab some cash when you fuel up.
Pinball ruffled some feathers. Like you said other day if someone cant deal now, they have no hope when it gets bad.
Love Pinball❣️ Such a level-headed guy just like Patera. Two of the most important channels to watch. Keep passing on your wisdom to us all 💪💕💪
@@sandygray1239 I met him in Tennessee at the Meetup last fall. Really nice guy
I watch him first thing every morning while having my coffee! 😂 He was on fire this morning.
@@sandygray1239 I totally agree!🙌🏻
Who is this pinball fellow?
I'm laying in bed , fixing to go to sleep and a light bulb went off. Dear lady you are the teacher that a lot of people never had in public school. Don't stop your words. Thank you
Patara, Be blessed this day as you tell people the "TRUTH" ♥
TO THE PEOPLE READING THIS--It doesn't have to be a government crisis, a personal crisis, can damage YOU, stop you in your tracks and you will not be prepared for it and you really can't expect someone else to step in and fix it for you, IT IS ALL UP TO OURSELVES, TO BE PREPARED AT ALL TIME TO CARE FOR OUR FAMILY!! I am a 73 year old woman telling you that Patara is right!!!
Absolutely - thinking all scenarios! We are preparing...And if nothing happens, then I will have a pantry full of canned homegrown food (and store bought food) for easy suppers after work for my family and a lot of flour for making your delicious biscuits!
keep on being you and no sugar coating! love you! my daddy told me all this in the 1960's
Love you Ms Patara
You are absolutely spot on, please keep speaking the truth 🥰
Truth, prepared, prayed up and independent.
Love and blessings to your family, California here. ❤
@@debb3428 thank you! I've waited a long time to be able to have a mini-homestead.

Making marinara sauce today using tomatoes from our garden. It is so satisfying.
Thank you for this!!!! My Mom was upset that we butchered our first chickens today. She said you don’t need to do that I’ll buy you chicken every week. 🤦♀️ no one is understanding what we are doing. It’s gotten pretty lonely since moving to our homestead in December
Way to go!
ooo my goodness! wou mean i hav to do it myselt? patara, you honey are the best!! brw i made your appalachia's biscuts tonight, i have found heavens cafe! thank you so much.
Last week, when Rogers went down for a couple of days, no ATM at all..you needed cash for gas, groceries etc...thankfully I HAD cash on hand,
Hello from Iowa...rural too! Thanks for all you do and all of the truth...
I'm buying boxes and boxes of Ramon noodles. The new gold. It can be used as currency, it can be eaten. and other foods that have long a shelf life.
hi patara 🤗
from the time i first knew what money was, i was taught to ALWAYS have cash on hand.
unfortunately, common sense has not been common for DECADES.
my grandmother's generation seems to be the last SOLID one where the majority of Americans had common sense on everyday life matters. i guess the great depression, and growing up in a different culture does that to people.
of course, a percentage of us born after 1950 have some common sense about some things, but dare i say, there is a select few that think and LIVE in the mindset my grandmother did...and still does. at 98 years young, if there is anyone i would take into these lean times, without a fraction of a second of one thought, it is her.
thanks for sharing truth and common sense with the sass that is needed at this point in the game.
I so miss my grandma’s. They were strong, tough women.
It was aweful here in Edm Ab
It was Fri all day
Pinball was funny today!! sometimes just hard truth needs to be heard!! made me realize my pantry is getting messy time to go threw rotate and get it back in ship shape ord3r again.
If you have a secure place to put it, you should keep your emergency fund at home. Banks are not paying interest on your money. Above and beyond the amounts to pay bills, you might as well stash it.
All of us are facing these things Just some are all living with blinders on.
Just please be safe.
Love you! ❤️😘🤗😂🙏🏻☺️

Passed the word on. I always make sure cash is on hand. Hoping my girls learn the same thing. Thank you, Patara!
Totally agree. The last three years has created such a spirit of laziness across this country. People were taken care of for awhile and now just expect it. There is a rude awakening coming and I appreciate your efforts to deflect the blows coming our way.
Ever since computers, the laziness has grown, I think. The more advanced the computers, the wider and more intense, the influence on populations.
I am a lawyer and you are absolutely right about having some cash for the very reasons you said:)
Thank you from South Carolina! Truth speaks volumes...
I'm following your chanel from Hungary and I appreciate all your advice. Keep going with your videos. With love🙂
😆😂 I needed all that.
My face is hurting from smiling so much. Ty

Preach it sister. Love your honesty. Some people just cannot connect the dots!
Never apologize for speaking truth. A lot of the people who are rude are Trolls. And those who are not trolls are stubborn & used to having things done for them or brainwashed to believe that they can rely on the Govt. You keep trying to help people - if they don't appreciate help, then they won't survive. God Bless you 🙏
Absolutely well said 👍
Patara, you have the most EFFECTIVE videos!
Love this channel ❤️. Even grocery stores have options of getting cash back, no need for a special trip.
Haha wanting to having reading and comprehension 🤣 girl I used to be a middle school teacher. They took that out of schools years ago for the control it gives them over people today!
