Young and Stroud might end up being the most fascinating quarterback comparison saga in NFL history. It's like The Birth of Tragedy in football form. One is physically gifted and a spontaneously gifted playmaker (dionysian), and the other is a calm, calculated houdini with a significant height disadvantage (apollonian). Their mirroring outlooks are fascinating in that sense.

Bro I didn't realize the colts had an 11.3 drop percentage. That's insanely high. Like if they only dropped 3% he'd have a 60% completion rate, which is the same as Eli Manning had over his entire career. That and their O-line has been playing pretty poorly too. He makes some bad passes sure, but that stat really makes me wonder if he's actually performing much better than it seems already after the benching

The reason Stroud looks so much worse this year is because of the O-line. Having watched nearly all of his games when he was in college, his whole thing was that if he was in a stable pocket, he was probably the best passer in college football. That's what happened when they played georgia in the CFP a few years ago. However, when he's put under pressure, his accuracy drops significantly. He's a pure pocket passer, and isn't really a guy who can make good throws under pressure. I don't think he's regressed really, I think it's more that his biggest weakness is just way easier to spot this year since last year he had super solid O-line play. He still looks the same to me when he's not forced out of the pocket. He just gets forced out 3-4x as much now so we're seeing him throw in scrambles which he's never been great at

Bears fans know Darnell Wright is good. Probably better than his numbers even because of how often we leave our tackles on an island. It’s the rest of the line that’s the problem both individually and how they play as a unit.
