EM is just built different and looks at rap / his art in a way others don’t. People may not be able to relate to some of the subject matter but that is entirely subjective. When it comes it comes to cadence / flow / technicals / his ability to become a literal instrument within the instrumental, no one comes close.
Ppl underestimate Weezy af. Weezy's metaphors are crazy and packs helluva punch. This is how Em and Weezy are different. Em got it all, dont misunderstand me. But wayne is the guy who pulls a rabbit outta hat outta nowhere. Em can do that too, this mans brain functions on a completely different lvl. But even Em respect his ability to write killer lyrics. this was where Em "joined" Wayne's side, instead of being mad about Wayne pulling better numbers than him and all that... Em and Wayne joined forces from this point. And they made hella good music from it. Real recognize real. (Even if u washed your career down the toilet and was in rehab for a while)

Wayne and Em are top 5 GOATS along with NAS, 2Pac and Biggie. Wayne spits a one line bar that has SOOO much meaning behind it and Em takes an idea and raps a whole verse to describe it in detail-essentially the opposite of Wayne, which makes them so great together. It’s a shame they only have 3 songs together(this one, Forever and Drop the World). Em wrote this song as an anti bullying campaign bc he was bullied so badly as a kid and was beaten into a coma for 10 days (he talks about it in his song Brain Damage). He had to relearn everyday life functions again like how to talk and feed himself and suffered seizures and personality changes like his anger and short temper(why he got in fights so much).
Agreed, but the only reason people put BIG on the top 5 it's because of PAC, that's nothing about Big that makes him better than most of regular rappers
