This comment section is kind of cancer. Guys don’t dunk on the game if you’ve never played it. Ryu is a legend for beating Rellana with like 2 Scadutree seeds and that’s not normal. The developers want you to explore the world to make yourself stronger with those seeds before you fight the bosses.

I think people are quitting because they don't understand how the blessing system works and how much change happens per blessing. FromSoftware isn't known for RPG's where you get BIG boosts when leveling up. You tend to level up very fast in the early game with minor upgrades per level, and the minor upgrading doesn't stop. The most upgrades you'll get in terms of damage is using smithing stones in Elden Ring. The blessings are not like smithing stones. They're like a slightly more powerful level up. You'll only really notice the change once you get about 3, you'll definitely notice at 5, and the early DLC enemies stop being problems entirely once you have 8+ blessings if (like me) you're a filthy casual. So expecting a huge change from ONE blessing level to your damage and damage negation is asking a lot from a company not known for that in their games. :)
This. I see so many people completely forgetting about all the different temporary buffs you can apply. Even just the physick can change a fight so much more than leveling up.
This was the first time in the game where paying attention to your specific damage negations made a HUGE difference. Getting through Radahn without the final holy negation talisman would have been a nightmare. I didn’t find it when I first started fighting him and then when I did it was a game changer for second phase. Utilizing defensive talismans along with the fragment upgrades made such a massive difference. The base game didn’t really require that so I don’t think people were experimenting with what they could do. It’s always about how much damage you can stack but this required a more thoughtful approach. They gave +3 defense talismans in the DLC for a reason. They also designed bosses in a way that negated people’s cheese builds. You couldn’t rely on cheap builds anymore and it pissed people off. No one wanted to learn Radahn and everyone ended up hiding behind great sheild slowly spear poking him to death. Yes he was hard and yes he has a move that is absolutely horrible that you can’t dodge without a literal frame perfect roll. But he can be beat. It’s a bummer that people got legit mad because they were given a bigger challenge to overcome. It’s the name of the game and always has been.
One of Ryu's greatest strengths as a content creator IMHO. He can deliver hilarious and quirky commentary even while he's in the middle of the most crazy and difficult situations.
Dude I use all tools in my belt for Elden Ring. I rock Halo and Winged Scythe for dual wielding, and i swap which one i use in my main hand for the abilities. Most bosses i just summon my mimic and shoot Halos at them, works really well. You can't blame the game because you are handicapping yourself.
I just play whichever way I find fun in the moment. Sometimes I use ashes, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I swap up the weapons I'm using, having made it a point to have the stats to at least 2 hand any weapon. Sometimes I beat my head against the wall until one breaks.
My only complaint so far is that some of these bosses' hitboxes are 9000% jank. The weapon animation will pass completely through their body like 6-7 times in a row but not ONE hit will actually land
they really dont do that much and requiring people to explore an entire map to get enough of them to make a big enough difference is also just annoying.
Nah gotta admit I love the difficulties in this game, if it was exactly the same as base game now with everyone's end game builds it wouldn't be worth grinding and exploring, I've just finished mopping up the last bits and only the end boss to go now 😊
I like that it's difficult. I just dislike that your stats don't seem to matter. It's fine when a boss 2 or 3 shots you with 60 vig, tree fragments exist to even up those fights a bit. But I don't think random axe dude, or shadowy undead noble, should be hitting you for the same amount as the bosses do.

Most negagive reviews are chinese complaining about the easy-anticheat giving performance issues. The game becomes much easier with the scadutree fragments. People are just throwing themselves at bosses without exploring. It's like complaining about Margit being to hard at lvl 1. Explore, improve, and go after the bosses. Instead of upgrading your weapon or getting lvls this time you have to get scadutree fragments. That's all.
Hey Ryu! Those fire guys I found were easiest to kill on a horse... when he lfits his leg, run away and jump back in. There is one somewhere else you cant damage, you need a 'Hefty Firepot' and throw into his head. They give you some talismans and stuff, worth fighting. They dont respawn
There are 3 bosses i would say are absolute bonkers in the dlc. The one ryu is fighting in the end is not one of them. Levels would also not mean much as long as you have finished the game, around 150 to start the dlc is good. I also agree with Ryu that the dlc can be easier on the damage numbers and still be challanging and fun. It is a bit over the top unless you abuse the crap out of some OP builds. That said, the design is great as always. It's stunning and well put together. People has not been playing the game until the dlc dropped, so everybody is rusty. I bet that is one reason people are quitting. So far i would give the dlc an 9/10. Nothing come close to the feeling of defeating that crazy boss you've been fighting for hours. There's just a bit to much of it in this dlc and not enough exploring without having to deal with multiple mini bosses all the time. There are also aspects i find very annoying to deal with that seem emphazised by the devs to make it harder. However it's still a massive dlc packed with stuff to do and it's a beautiful beast to conqure.
Litterally, was stuck on renalla for hours. I'm a strength build, and it just felt like there were no openings. I swapped to a finger print shield build per my friend's recommendation and it has made so much of the stuff I've run into so much more manageable. For my reaction time and skill level at least, it kinda feels like pure strength build is waaaaaaaay less viable here than in the base game.
Ryu's baller underleveled character is going to have some trouble with some of these bosses. They do so much damage and take so little. Has Ryu made a point of getting the rest of those flask charges? Edit: That Rellana fight was very relatable.

the fire guy in the fild was my 1 boss in the dlc and the only fire guy i beat because later they can 1 shot u from full hp if they grap u and im on 80 vig i beaten a lot of bosses but the end boss is very stupid 50% in 1 hit and the speed is crazy too

Having put considerable time into the DLC over the weekend I can say that there is a lot to love, but also a lot of frustration. It feels like the game developers expect players to be as in-tune with their save files as they were when they last put them down. Which of course, nobody is. So either you suffer through trying to relearn inside the DLC, or roll a complete new character and do the base game again so you incrementally get use to the difficulty. I think the effect of being dropped into a DLC that is basically base-game end-game difficulty spike, without the ramp-up to that is what's causing a lot of player frustration.
Meh, i think its pretty on par with the base game for the most part.Im lvl 204 and on a NG run. If you are slackin on the scadu upgrades ur gonna have a hard time. I have ran into some bugs where stuff just stops working for some reason. But that hasnt happened much. I think alot of the challenge comes from new enemies with moves ppl arent used to. All n all im loving the dlc though.

How did they got it that way after being more balanced with previous summons in other games I do not know.
Just not true lul. It's included in the game, but in no way is forced on you to use them. Proven by the many ppl that do not use summons they are just there to make it easier a cheat basically.
i actually partially agree with this sentiment. using summons makes it too easy and ultimately unfulfilling, but not using summons makes it excruciatingly painful. lol
Not really, Spirit Ashes help balance out the fights. I use a maxed out Mimic Tear on all the bosses and I still get flattened. On Rellana I used the Mimic Tear AND the cooperator summon, so 3 vs 1 and those two did most of the work, when I jumped in to attack her, she would tap me for 75% of my HP and I had to run away and do ranged attacks lol. Most bosses the summon just act as a temporary distraction for the boss rather then making it to easy. Like the Undead Horse rider guy in the Fissure, my spirit was doing nothing in that figt.

Funny because all FromSoft DLC's have always been way harder than the base game. Elden Ring just attracted way more casuals and now they're frustrated they can't rush through the game without exploring.

Okay, most people haven’t explored the DLC. I was struggling too but got the Scadutree pieces and 2 Great Katanas and beat Rellana first try. No joke the Scadutree Blessings are goated. Keep up the fight Ryu!!!!
Sometimes, I don’t know if Ryu is memeing or really not recognizing enemies from the base game or randomly jumping over a gate instead of simply opening it 😂
I’m no souls veteran, ER was my first souls game and I struggled plenty through it. I knew the DLC would be even harder. If I get tired of dying I take a break and come back. I’m guessing the people rage quitting are NG+17 99 stats who think they can unga bunga their way through with no upgrades 😂
A shame that there wasn't a twinkling light camera flash, or winking, nodding spectator,, in the audience, during that Twin Moon Kbight clash. I know they really aren't comparable, but I was getting old school Punch-Out vibes, where I'd you know the frame, you can win vs the combo, or special, but if not, you can just be screwed. That knight moved like it had a passive dealing it damage every second it wasn't spinning,and so it was constantly in motion, and leaving precious few openings. I know its just that I suck at Elden Ring, but this kind of thing is why I don't like it. Even numerous randos can just shatter your health, often with their "regular" attacks, and while you said you might be under-leveled, I never feel like, regardless of level, and points, you are ever more than two hits from dead. It's almost like their attacks deal percentage of health damage, instead of a straight number. I've had a friend who basically cheated his way into the end battle, from practically starting, and I think he won, though I wasn't there, so maybe talking out of his ass, but I'd so, then it's odd you can fight the big boss, or do it much later, and STILL be one combo from dead.
7:45 Oh no my friend, I brought my level 172 faith strength build to the DLC and this "mini-boss" also 2 shot me. Yes, I have 60 vigor. Yes, I am using crucible knight armor. He just does sooooo much damage lol
Seeing people who are good at these games struggling at BlackGaol Knight makes me feel good I was getting destroyed over and over, then there was DeeBeeGeek who beat him second try with just bonking him over and over again with a strength build and I'm like wtf.....
Hell yeah, Ryu! Will love watching you go through the DLC. It is hella hard, but I am having a good time! I think the thing that makes people hate it is the difficulty seems tuned for you to use consumables and swap up your talismans/weapons/spells way more often to deal with bosses strategically, not to mention the bosses have some CRAZY wombo combos. You are infinitely better at this game than I am, so I bet you won't have as much of an issue, but make sure to go exploring for plenty of those Scadutree Fragments! Big time help!

your scardutree level was WAAAAAAY to low. They make a big difference. I was +4 or +5 when facing Rellana, you were only +1 lol.
I think people are underestimating the importance of the scardu leveling lol
One thing I learned quickly is that a hell of a lot of bosses have delayed attacks, you'll have to try and train yourself not to dodge straight away 😂

I fought Rellana at 9 Scadutree upgrades and still had to grind the fight for an hour and a half before squeaking out a win. Ryu is actually cracked.

I'm not dunking on the dlc because I absolutely love it but I have 11 levels of tree upgrades and I'm still getting 2 to 3 shot from most bosses.

Will also say yes it is stupidly difficult. I melee only fought the entire original game minus Melania, and needed to summon people twice in dlc

Not really, Spirit Ashes help balance out the fights. I use a maxed out Mimic Tear on all the bosses and I still get flattened. On Rellana I used the Mimic Tear AND the cooperator summon, so 3 vs 1 and those two did most of the work, when I jumped in to attack her, she would tap me for 75% of my HP and I had to run away and do ranged attacks lol. Most bosses the summon just act as a temporary distraction for the boss rather then making it to easy. Like the Undead Horse rider guy in the Fissure, my spirit was doing nothing in that figt.
@@ryukahr The point of a game is to BEAT the game Ryu. Get to the end credits. HOW you beat the bosses doesn't really matter. People will cheese bosses, people will use summons, people will not use summons. People who refuse to use summons just have an ego problem and like to be all look at me I'm so MLG amazing. Funny because all FromSoft DLC's have always been way harder than the base game. Elden Ring just attracted way more casuals and now they're frustrated they can't rush through the game without exploring.

Okay, most people haven’t explored the DLC. I was struggling too but got the Scadutree pieces and 2 Great Katanas and beat Rellana first try. No joke the Scadutree Blessings are goated. Keep up the fight Ryu!!!!

I’m no souls veteran, ER was my first souls game and I struggled plenty through it. I knew the DLC would be even harder. If I get tired of dying I take a break and come back. I’m guessing the people rage quitting are NG+17 99 stats who think they can unga bunga their way through with no upgrades 😂

That is literally the DLC summed up. You cannot EVER land more than a single hit on any boss enemy.
A shame that there wasn't a twinkling light camera flash, or winking, nodding spectator,, in the audience, during that Twin Moon Kbight clash. I know they really aren't comparable, but I was getting old school Punch-Out vibes, where I'd you know the frame, you can win vs the combo, or special, but if not, you can just be screwed. That knight moved like it had a passive dealing it damage every second it wasn't spinning,and so it was constantly in motion, and leaving precious few openings.
I know its just that I suck at Elden Ring, but this kind of thing is why I don't like it. Even numerous randos can just shatter your health, often with their "regular" attacks, and while you said you might be under-leveled, I never feel like, regardless of level, and points, you are ever more than two hits from dead. It's almost like their attacks deal percentage of health damage, instead of a straight number. I've had a friend who basically cheated his way into the end battle, from practically starting, and I think he won, though I wasn't there, so maybe talking out of his ass, but I'd so, then it's odd you can fight the big boss, or do it much later, and STILL be one combo from dead.
7:45 Oh no my friend, I brought my level 172 faith strength build to the DLC and this "mini-boss" also 2 shot me. Yes, I have 60 vigor. Yes, I am using crucible knight armor. He just does sooooo much damage lol

Seeing people who are good at these games struggling at BlackGaol Knight makes me feel good I was getting destroyed over and over, then there was DeeBeeGeek who beat him second try with just bonking him over and over again with a strength build and I'm like wtf.....

Hell yeah, Ryu! Will love watching you go through the DLC. It is hella hard, but I am having a good time! I think the thing that makes people hate it is the difficulty seems tuned for you to use consumables and swap up your talismans/weapons/spells way more often to deal with bosses strategically, not to mention the bosses have some CRAZY wombo combos. You are infinitely better at this game than I am, so I bet you won't have as much of an issue, but make sure to go exploring for plenty of those Scadutree Fragments! Big time help!
