    Nice Jimmy. I have been struggling with curvature for ages in panoramas, and I mince around with puppet warp. This should help me straighten horizon curvature.

    This lesson was surprisingly hard to find among other's guided corrections, which weren't suitable to me. Thanks!

    The adaptive wide angle is insane! I didn't know the shift trick to create the horizon line. The result is simply perfect! Thank you, that was very useful.

    very informative, thanks. I use adaptive wide angle too on a scene like this, but I use many more vertical and horizontal constraints so that all vertical are vertical. I also bring the constraint lines to the edge of the image. then diagonal lines may need to be straightened... I may have 40 constraint lines in the end. You're right, it's not a perfect tool, but it's still great on wide angle and pano images.

    Thank you for your tutorial! But in the Adaptive wide angle, my I can't not set up "auto" setting, the error message says "lens profile not found". So it appears that "auto"setting can only be used on certain lens. Any ideas?

      if i am not wrong, after creating the line, right-click on the line inside the circle to set a horizontal or vertical lock.

    Crop is alright, even bigger missing area can be resolved with content aware tool in most cases, if not then some carefully planned cloning will.

    I agree with you the adaptative wide angle tool is far from perfect. I mostly use DXO Viewpoint, it is simpler to use and works very well.

    Thanks a lot Jimmy!, I didn't knew about the shift option and usually I was just applying lens profiles, BTW, Do you have a preferred method to De-Fisheye?, I just got the Samyang 12mm for Nikon FX and it has great IQ but I want to find a good way to properly De-Fish some of the images without losing too much details, maybe even for a future upgrade in RayaPro you could include some tools for that and color grading, Thanks again!

      You should have it, It's in ours it's probably a hidden function. Check out "Dehaze photoshop" He will lead you to that hidden function where you will access that WAF

    This looks like hard work. In CC 2016 and 2017 you can use CAMERA RAW in filters and select lens type and if your metadata has the camera type stored it will select it for you automatically, otherwise you can select camera lens manually by name, at which point you can remove chromatic aberration as well. Much faster and more accurate than this method. Hope this helps.

    • @JimmyMcIntyre
      @JimmyMcIntyre  7 лет назад +2

      truthseekers666 hi there, camera RAW is useful, but it is not more accurate, which is why every high end photographer I work with do not use ACR for complete lens distortion removal. Most of us use the Lens Corrections options like remove CA and remove barrel distortion, as you mentioned, but when shooting with wide angles, there is almost always more work left to do in PS.
      When people ask me the difference between Camera RAw and Lightroom, compared to Photoshop, I always say that ACR/LR are built to be user friendly, they give us nice buttons and sliders that are easier to use. But with that we sacrifice many of the options and the accuracy we get from using Photoshop.
