Hi! To help clear up some misconceptions: yes, a lot of pugs do have trouble breathing, that does not mean all. There are quite a few pugs that can breathe just fine. A lot of the pugs that struggle the most with breathing are ones that are over fed or under exercised just like a lot of dog breeds. No, pugs can not drown in a bowl of water, anymore than any other dog bread can. Yes, pugs can eat just fine, they are actually a dog that has a tendency to eat to fast. Most of the misconceptions about that one are from seeing pugs struggle to pick up something like a cut strawberry from a smooth surface where it sticks to it. Pugs do love to run and play and can do it just fine. Also, for all of you looking for an alternative, I would look to retro pugs. They are quite similar but lack a lot of the health issues. Yes I do feel that in many ways pugs have been over bread. But, I implore you to look at both sides of an argument and do your research before coming to a conclusion on your stance on the matter (please check your resources are valid too) and please do not look solely at pugs as a breed. Hi! To help clear up some misconceptions: yes, a lot of pugs do have trouble breathing, that does not mean all. There are quite a few pugs that can breathe just fine. A lot of the pugs that struggle the most with breathing are ones that are over fed or under exercised just like a lot of dog breeds. No, pugs can not drown in a bowl of water, anymore than any other dog bread can. Yes, pugs can eat just fine, they are actually a dog that has a tendency to eat to fast. Most of the misconceptions about that one are from seeing pugs struggle to pick up something like a cut strawberry from a smooth surface where it sticks to it. Pugs do love to run and play and can do it just fine. Also, for all of you looking for an alternative, I would look to retro pugs. They are quite similar but lack a lot of the health issues. Yes I do feel that in many ways pugs have been over bread. But, I implore you to look at both sides of an argument and do your research before coming to a conclusion on your stance on the matter (please check your resources are valid too) and please do not look solely at pugs as a breed.

My uncle's dog has to be put down today due to back problems, Shepherds are one of the best dogs, but they usually have to be put to sleep.
