    Student Testimonial from Sonalee: "Suzanne is an engaging and encouraging instructor. At every step, I felt championed to try something new and to see where it takes me. She helped me approach this class as a learning opportunity while enjoying the process. Anytime I had a question, Suzanne provided prompt and helpful advice. This class is recommended for artists at all levels. I learned a lot about the materials needed, which Suzanne kept simple and accessible. I am looking forward to taking other classes by Suzanne Allard, and would recommend her classes to anyone who enjoys the process of creating colorful art!"

    Tooli has now come out with the most incredible assortments of colors---"Wildflowers" for instance, which is gorgeous. A lot has happened in the last year and they've really expanded! Thanks for the video!Lynn in NYC

    Just a suggestion but you may consider lowering the brightness of your lamp (when there’s not much color being put down) when doing things on white paper etc so it’s much more visible. It may help the viewer to see what is being drawn or swatched. Great video. I’ve never had this brand. I’m just getting started w paint markers and I love them so far

    Thank you so very much. I know you have a lot going on with the move and you still took the time to make this review. I already placed an order. Since I have bright Posca colors I order the pastels. Then I will be buying the greens, red, blues, yellows and maybe the grays in that order. Definitely if tooli-art would make an artist bundle, it would be amazing. Because with the following you have, the bundles will no doubt sell.

    Hi Suzanne - I can’t get enough of your videos, Skillshare, lessons…. You really are such a generous and great teacher. Thank you! Ok - I have trouble with the fine Posca’s - they blob when I use them (on the paper/canvas). It feels like I use light pressure and it still “blobs” out! Are the thin Tooli’s better? Maybe I have a heavy hand but it drives me a little bonkers. I so love the Tooli’s because of the variety of colors - - I’m with you!

      That's lovely to hear! I feel the same way about the fine Posca's. so far so good on the Tooli. I think because it's a different tip type.

    I have pretty much the full posca range. when I went to the tooli art storefront and saw the pro range I was in heavennnn!! I'm not sure if its just me(I work on wood, chalkboards, acrylic ect) and sometimes when I go to layer them the tips completely dry up and it takes a lot of finessing to get it going again

    I just ordered the essential extra fine pack as an alternative to posca markers. I want to experiment with acrylic paint pens but I'm a broke 17 year old and there is no way I could buy enough posca colora to do the project I have in mind. I hope they work well! Do you know if it's possibek to order bigger tips to change the tip size or are the tips permanent/unchangeable? Thanks!

      @Suzanne Allard Design Thank you. Sometimes the tips of my markers get dried out and sticky. I don't get to use them as often as I like, because I do mostly pottery. But I love to paint also. 😀

    I’m so glad I found your channel Suzanne, I love your work. I was looking for reviews on the Tooli-art acrylic pens, but also what is the best paper to use with them, or any other acrylic markers. I have brush tip acrylic pens mostly,because I can’t always do so much shaking and prepping,and it’s too bad because these Tooli pens have beautiful colors. But I’m older and my hands not that strong anymore. In my experience I think marker paper or a smooth card-stock works better with these, even the watercolor paper absorbs the color too much. Or just smooth paper. The sketchbook you showed here, does it have smooth paper? If it’s not the right paper, when it dries the color becomes too chalky. So, I wanted your opinion,what do you think? Thank you so much,Judith

    • @SuzanneAllardDesign
      @SuzanneAllardDesign  2 месяца назад

      Hi Judith, sorry for the late reply, I'm traveling in Portugal! Smooth paper does help. Some of my sketchbooks are watercolor paper with texture and some are mixed media. I'm using the markers over paintings usually so not directly on rough paper. Mixed media is the best paper though and the Moleskine art journal is very smooth.

      @@SuzanneAllardDesign Thank you Suzanne for responding,wow Portugal must be beautiful. That’s a very nice sketchbook, unfortunately I either color in coloring books ( but only with pencils,the paper in those books is very thin) or I print line art and color it on watercolor paper,marker paper or something nice. I can’t draw,just color so I don’t use sketchbooks. I think I realized first acrylic pens/ markers a really smooth paper works well but also thick enough or a hot press watercolor paper. Actually somebody else suggested Borden&Riley Paris Pad,it’s 176 GSM. In fact I just git it from Amazon and it’s very nice for acrylic pens, it’s more like a marker paper,really smooth but thicker so it works well. Wish you the best and thank you again

    Do the toolis nibs unscrew? I’m thinking of refilling these with high flow acrylic.
