Larry Mantle is one of the best. He asks smart questions and always keeps his cool, and one feels an underlying kindness.

This was an interesting and very substantive discussion (and those are rare on the Internet these days!). I learned a lot and came away with a lot to mull over - thanks for this!

Gas prices are lower today than they were than when trump left office- at least where I live. They spiked in 2022 for like 6 months around the time of the invasion of Ukraine but prices have stayed between $2.65-$3.50 per gallon for like a year now. Quite frankly I’m tired of the constant whining about them. I drive an hour to work every day.

Wish Simon hadn’t been so defensive at the start. Sarah was giving him invaluable information for persuasion and he really needed to listen and apply it going forward.

He doesn't care, like the right, Simon thinks the end justifies the means and is ok with lying and misrepresentation

When voters say "the economy" I suspect what they are really talking about is _inflation_, housing prices, and interest rates.

And not employment, stock market, GDP, trade, etc.

Simon lies like the right and undermines the effort to put a better foot forward than them

California has the highest taxes on gasoline, my poor maga State has one of the lowest taxes on gasoline and you don't pay sales tax on top,,federal taxes on gasoline are the same in every state. I pay low tax on gasoline but the roads are crappy.

The roads in California aren’t great either but Prop 13 really makes the state finances a bit of a basket case.

Idk the other guy basically just said the voters are stupid and wrong so Harris will win. It was a pretty braindead take tbh. Sarah has been quite even handed and pessimistic about Americans and she was absolutely right about Biden, and one of the first and loudest dem proponents to be screaming from the rooftops that he needed to drop out after the debate. I like her takes a lot.

"We're going to win California by 35 points." Does he really believe that? Kamala may take CA but it's going to be very close. She's very unpopular in CA and Trump is very popular.

lol there is literally no world where Harris loses CA in this election

@@zachary37 Well, Newsom is in charge of counting the votes so rest assured that the official count will show the Dems won. I'm sure they will announce that within seconds of the polls being closed. That's what they did in 2020, within 9 seconds (I actually timed it.) But CA is still part of the USA and the USA is MAGA country now. You can't stop history. We won't go back.
