I love how this video explains Lena's pain. Some people get upset by the storyline she has in season 5 and think it's out of character... Have they never really seen Lena? It is also completely narratively impossible. After losing Mon-El in a fashion that to Kara and to all of us was permanent Kara would have immediately gone to her BFF for emotional support. This would rapidly lead to both Kara and Lena to reassess their true feelings for each other - beyond just friendship. Since I note again - the departure of Mon-El leaves Kara only Lena as a viable love interest out of those that were introduced to the series by the end of season two. This means made Lena the sole front-runner - logically...
She needs all the hugs. I really want her to have someone be there for her this season who isn't Kara who Lena can confide in and get support for with everything that's happened with Kara.

Gosh, I just adore Lena SOOO much!!! The most beautifully complex character ever created, in my opinion! Her and Kara have one of the most deep and layered relationships I've ever seen. It's sad how Kara just put off telling Lena for so long that the lie just grew and grew until it was no longer controllable. Kara wanted to tell Lena, but she just kept waiting for an ideal time to do it, and that perfect opportunity never arose. One of Kara's main flaws is not understanding that perfection is non-existent. Not erything is so black and white. There are so many layers to every person and every situation. Lena is very compassionate, yet she is practical and can see the bigger picture. Kara is also very compassionate, yet she only does what she sees as objectively good and has trouble understanding that sometimes less than good things need to be done to reach a good outcome. I love both Lena and Kara. They are amazing individuals, and their relationship is gorgeous. I know that, no matter what happens, they will reconcile in the end. Things will never be exactly the same as they were before, but at the end of the day, they have gone through too much together to stop their feelings for each other- the good, the bad, and the messy. Lena has done so much for Kara, and Kara has done so much for Lena. They are a match made in Heaven. 😊💖
I usually don't take dramas/movies seriously but with Supergirl I am head over heels because there is so much basic human nature involve in it and how to deal with the complexity it comes up with. You have perfectly put the main characters into words, there's no other way of seeing it. Always reconcile. Always admit when you are wrong and yes, absolutely..there is no perfect timing.
This is such a beautiful, amazing and remarkable tribute! Lena is such a beautifully flawed and complex character...my favorite character aside from Red Daughter, who was also beautifully flawed and complex as well yet had this innocence to her that was endearing. But yeah, Lena is such an intriguing character with so much depth and so many layers and Katie plays her brilliantly. There's so much I love about this...wonderfully edited, the song choice, the parallels, the mixture of black/white and coloured clips, the voiceovers...gosh I have so many feels from this

Yeah and I think one of the key things that they're going to have to work on when rebuilding their relationship is the fact that Lena got shown two different sides to Kara, sides that treated her very differently and even hurt her, and reconciling that into one person and trying to work out what was real, if any of it was or if in fact it all was (questions Lena's probably asking herself). And the thing about Kara's betrayal is that it can't be viewed on its own because of lena's history. Her response to it and the way it made her feel was always going to take into account her past relationships, the betrayals and her abuse. So it was important for me to show that in this vid. And I also loved Red Daughter. She deserved so much better. If only Lena had been the Luthor that stumbled upon her
I don't know how to thanx you for this EPIC tribute to Lena, Katie Mcgrath is the reason why i watch Supergirl in the first place with Alex. They are my two favorites characters ever, i love Katie Mcgrath since Merlin and Lena Luthor is one of her best character ! She's complex, so smart, a genius but so vulnerable when it comes to relationship with family, friends, lovers. She don't know how to trust and from her perspective it's easy to believe in someone like Kara, Kara is a good person but she choose and may not choose to do not see the true about her. I can't wait to see how the writer will write the next chapter of their journey, i hope it will take the all season 5 for Lena and Kara to be someting again, friendship or more. They both need time and more important Lena need answer because she feels hurt !

She had all the ground work there to be a really good antagonist to Merlin without the need of actually making her go 'evil' because they both had different opinions about how to help their people. And I thought her hatred of Merlin and uther was justified, even wanting to rule instead of Arthur because it would be difficult to trust a non magical person to treat her kind fairly, especially one who has killed and persecuted them in the past, but wanting to kill Arthur and Gwen was just super ooc. Like she was multilayered and then they made her one dimensional just so there could could be no doubt that Merlin and Arthur were the good guys/heroes in this story which is just super lazy in my opinion
I can’t choose a side, they were both wrong and right at the same time...Kara should have told Lena, but she was only trying to keep her safe, Lena should not try to hurt her, they should talk it out, but Lena has every right to be mad at everyone lying to her, she has already gone through so much.
This is such a well made video. The editing is flawless, the transitions are smooth, the music is loud enough to hear, but not too loud where you can't hear what is being said. Each clip had a purpose and the placing was strategically perfect imo. And the text pieces were also on point. This video just hurts so much. Lena has been through so much and I feel like this video captures her pain? I starting tearing up at the end haha. I know this was made a while ago, but I just wanted to let you know this is one of my favorite Lena videos. Gods, I really hope season 6 is kind to her and the superfriends try and understand why their betrayal hurt so much. Her pain and anguish were justified (even if some of her actions weren't). For real. Lena's trauma is so obvious and I completely understand why she reacted the way she did. It's not just that everyone lied to her and her history of betrayal and abuse, it's that Kara and Supergirl treated her completely differently and now that she knows that it was really Kara doing all those things to her as Supergirl...that would hurt so much. And it would be so hard to trust that any of their friendship was genuine

She needed that friendship too! for someone to see her as just Kara and not expect her to save the world. Keeping her identity secret isn't as selfless as they make it to be. btw this edit is literally the best i've seen and I've watched a LOT of lena / supercorp edits. If you ever make another Lena edit, I suggest using Mad Woman by Taylor Swift. I think it fits her story perfectly.

what an incredible video. lena is the character i like the most in all the series i've seen, not only because i love katie's work but because unfortunately she's the one i identify with the most. i've learned a lot from lena's story, about trust, about my mechanisms, about my triggers and i've learned to let my guard down more from time to time. and because of that i've always understood all of her attitudes. when the series ended it helped me understand that we've never been completely ourselves, in the same way that it made me understand that in myself. thanks for the video, even though i watched it a long time later hahaha
it's going to be my fave edit about Lena Luther for now. it's amazing. I love your editing choices. She is my second fave from the show. First one is Kara. I can get both perspectives Kara's and Lena's on their argument. It's painful to watch them fight tho. I agree that Lena chose not to see that Kara and Supergirl are one person. She was afraid that Kara didn't trust her enough and their whole friendship/relationship was a lie. I'm glad that their made up in the end.

All my thoughts right here. If they're going to rebuild their relationship I want it done slowly and done right, nothing glossed over. Yeah like I don't mind a little darkness from Lena but I don't want them to go ooc like Merlin did with morgana (even if dark morgana WAS a badass). Helping the world is too integral to Lena's character (she's the kind of person who when hurt doesn't take out her pain on others but rather becomes more motivated to ensure that others aren't hurt in the same way). Her opposition I think will be solely with Supergirl (and maybe her friends) but unlike with lex i don't see people being hurt as an acceptable part of that equation for her.
After 5X1, if they are going to repair the relationship in the right way, the writers have a helluva task ahead of them. The reconciliation can’t be forced and the issues can’t be glossed over. The characters will have to take a deep dive, together and separately. Buckle up.
The one thing I hate is how Kara reacted at the end of season 3. It really took me by surprise because it jut seemed so out of character for her. She constantly trusted Lena even when others didn’t and now just nothing. It just pissed me off and I definitely agree with you about how Lena shouldn’t have to forgive her. I really hope she does, but whatever happens I’ll be happy for Lena
Wow what an amazing video!! I'm such a sucker for vids set to this song in the first place, and hopefully I'll make one of my own someday. I'm really far behind on watching Supergirl, I was like 1 episode before I heard Alex and Maggie broke up or something so I'd probably just barely started season 3 or idek. I did plan to always catch up one day though and even had Lena&Kara featured in my "Iris" birthday collab this year because of how much i know i love them. Then this popped up in my subscriptions and honestly I'm maybe even more a huge fan of reading your fandom meta essay in the description than I am in watching this mesmerizing video, although really they both work so well in tandem with one another. The mini-essay and video complement each other and make the other stronger. I love your editing skill and how you capture Lena's emotions in this and i can't wait to catch up on the show through her learning this huge truth and all of this betrayal. :)

I don't know how to thanx you for this EPIC tribute to Lena, Katie Mcgrath is the reason why i watch Supergirl in the first place with Alex. They are my two favorites characters ever, i love Katie Mcgrath since Merlin and Lena Luthor is one of her best character ! She's complex, so smart, a genius but so vulnerable when it comes to relationship with family, friends, lovers. She don't know how to trust and from her perspective it's easy to believe in someone like Kara, Kara is a good person but she choose and may not choose to do not see the true about her. I can't wait to see how the writer will write the next chapter of their journey, i hope it will take the all season 5 for Lena and Kara to be someting again, friendship or more. They both need time and more important Lena need answer because she feels hurt !

She had all the ground work there to be a really good antagonist to Merlin without the need of actually making her go 'evil' because they both had different opinions about how to help their people. And I thought her hatred of Merlin and uther was justified, even wanting to rule instead of Arthur because it would be difficult to trust a non magical person to treat her kind fairly, especially one who has killed and persecuted them in the past, but wanting to kill Arthur and Gwen was just super ooc. Like she was multilayered and then they made her one dimensional just so there could could be no doubt that Merlin and Arthur were the good guys/heroes in this story which is just super lazy in my opinion

I can’t choose a side, they were both wrong and right at the same time...Kara should have told Lena, but she was only trying to keep her safe, Lena should not try to hurt her, they should talk it out, but Lena has every right to be mad at everyone lying to her, she has already gone through so much.
This is such a well made video. The editing is flawless, the transitions are smooth, the music is loud enough to hear, but not too loud where you can't hear what is being said. Each clip had a purpose and the placing was strategically perfect imo. And the text pieces were also on point. This video just hurts so much. Lena has been through so much and I feel like this video captures her pain? I starting tearing up at the end haha. I know this was made a while ago, but I just wanted to let you know this is one of my favorite Lena videos. Gods, I really hope season 6 is kind to her and the superfriends try and understand why their betrayal hurt so much. Her pain and anguish were justified (even if some of her actions weren't). Anyway, give Lena a hug 2021 and supercorp endgame

For real. Lena's trauma is so obvious and I completely understand why she reacted the way she did. It's not just that everyone lied to her and her history of betrayal and abuse, it's that Kara and Supergirl treated her completely differently and now that she knows that it was really Kara doing all those things to her as Supergirl...that would hurt so much. And it would be so hard to trust that any of their friendship was genuine
WelcomeToCaritas agreed. i'm actually kinda annoyed at the writers that they made lena apologize in the end. I mean it would've been better if they made Kara admit her mistakes first. She needed that friendship too! for someone to see her as just Kara and not expect her to save the world. Keeping her identity secret isn't as selfless as they make it to be.
btw this edit is literally the best i've seen and I've watched a LOT of lena / supercorp edits. If you ever make another Lena edit, I suggest using Mad Woman by Taylor Swift. I think it fits her story perfectly.

I feel like a lot of effort was made this season to absolve Kara of blame (Like when she was seeing all the other timelines). Kara I love you but you did a shitty thing to someone whilst fully aware of their history with abuse, betrayal and manipulation and that's NOT OKAY. Lena can't be the only one always apologising and trying to make up for things. Like they seemed to be handling things okay with Kara at the beginning of the season but then they just completely switched back to 'Kara can do no wrong' and that's frustrating

what an incredible video. lena is the character i like the most in all the series i've seen, not only because i love katie's work but because unfortunately she's the one i identify with the most. i've learned a lot from lena's story, about trust, about my mechanisms, about my triggers and i've learned to let my guard down more from time to time. and because of that i've always understood all of her attitudes. when the series ended it helped me understand that we've never been completely ourselves, in the same way that it made me understand that in myself. thanks for the video, even though i watched it a long time later hahaha

Great piece of work. I'm looking forward to S5. Lena will have to learn to get along without Kara. I hope they can reconcile, but their relationship will never be the same. I just hope Lena doesn't go too dark.
All my thoughts right here. If they're going to rebuild their relationship I want it done slowly and done right, nothing glossed over. Yeah like I don't mind a little darkness from Lena but I don't want them to go ooc like Merlin did with morgana (even if dark morgana WAS a badass). Helping the world is too integral to Lena's character (she's the kind of person who when hurt doesn't take out her pain on others but rather becomes more motivated to ensure that others aren't hurt in the same way). Her opposition I think will be solely with Supergirl (and maybe her friends) but unlike with lex i don't see people being hurt as an acceptable part of that equation for her.
After 5X1, if they are going to repair the relationship in the right way, the writers have a helluva task ahead of them. The reconciliation can’t be forced and the issues can’t be glossed over. The characters will have to take a deep dive, together and separately. Buckle up.

The one thing I hate is how Kara reacted at the end of season 3. It really took me by surprise because it jut seemed so out of character for her. She constantly trusted Lena even when others didn’t and now just nothing. It just pissed me off and I definitely agree with you about how Lena shouldn’t have to forgive her. I really hope she does, but whatever happens I’ll be happy for Lena

Wow what an amazing video!! I'm such a sucker for vids set to this song in the first place, and hopefully I'll make one of my own someday. I'm really far behind on watching Supergirl, I was like 1 episode before I heard Alex and Maggie broke up or something so I'd probably just barely started season 3 or idek. I did plan to always catch up one day though and even had Lena&Kara featured in my "Iris" birthday collab this year because of how much i know i love them.
Then this popped up in my subscriptions and honestly I'm maybe even more a huge fan of reading your fandom meta essay in the description than I am in watching this mesmerizing video, although really they both work so well in tandem with one another. The mini-essay and video complement each other and make the other stronger.
I love your editing skill and how you capture Lena's emotions in this and i can't wait to catch up on the show through her learning this huge truth and all of this betrayal. :)

Im relieved you liked the meta essay cos I'm always really self-conscious about voicing my opinion on things, especially when it's a character and ship that people feels so strongly about - so this gave me a lot of anxiety but I felt it needed to be said. Also I can relate to you on being really behind. I stopped watching about mid season 3 cos I lost interest but I wanted to catch up before season 5 started so I basically binged it a couple of weeks before making this. S4 for me was better than s3 (I had to skip a few episodes of s3).

Lena is just a poor little baby. She was so abused as a child. And now she is being used as an adult. It kills me. She has done nothing to deserve any of this crap. She finally let someone in (Kara) and Kara betrayed her. Kara never meant for the lies to go this far, but they did. Lena is too good for all of this.

Her arc truly is the best in the show, she went through so much but came through it all and she will always fall into the light, she truly broke free of Lex, got the chance to find closure with Lillian, something she didn't get with her mom, she has found a family a family that loves and supports her, she did get the chance to connect with her mom through magic but her family helped her to stay in control and accept all parts of herself...
Now she isn't hurting herself anymore when she's looking too closely, she sees herself for the good person that she is, someone with a family and light
