Have you ever rode the old slim willy track in mortimer forest? Used to start at the watchtower until they felled it. We built it in the 90's.
Yes mate, used to stay at Slim's house for his races at the farm!
@@PinnedTV cool! That was after my time slightly. We built the track in mortimer forest from scratch. Riding up there with shovels and saws attached to our bikes.
Was a fun time. Bill was a bit of a legend around our way...

Reminds me little of the Blackdowns in Somerset very early 90s but back then raw (no safety clothes), no paths, just mud, leaves, spin outs, horizontal downhill and 26. No, they were not the good old days...and today everything is much better, bikes trials, tracks and much more participation and support.

i had a night ride there about 2 weeks ago and it was total mud fest lol, had to remove alot of logs from some of the tracks near the carpark tho, only been there a couple of times but i think it will be really good spot in the summer!

Out of interest how much of the brakes should you use? Do you use the front much? Or is it more about sliding the rear with just a little rear brake.
60/40 in dry 70/30 wet rear/front Just skid back end in when corner suits really mate.
That's only my opinion, but hope it helps 🤘
@@PinnedTV Thanks for reply. . Been ridding year and a half.. I can get down stuff but it's slow, I know speed makes it easier but it's having the skills too.
Practice and practice is what I need 😊.
