Thanks for shooting this I found it very useful. I am about to buy a nodal rail for landscape but after watching your video I think I will get more use than I originally thought.

Good video! I bought this one for panoramics... I quit when I found out I needed to get a leveling base 😂🤣 Now I got new ideas for it, thanks to you!

You sold me on one the moment you had your camera in the upright position near the ground under your tripod.

The Arca clamp can also be used as a bottle opener.

I'm guessing you know what a Nodal Slide really is for? Anyway, I shoot a Nikon D810 with a substantial grip. So I put on an L-Bracket. I like how you used the Nodal Slide with the center column facing down. Pretty slick & till this day haven't seen anyone else do it. It would be my only argument for owning a tripod with a center column. You should mention that the nodal slide has a double Arca Swiss groove (dovetail) on it . Hopefully your viewers can see it in the video. With a single groove , the camera would still be upside down.

Hahaha....I just stumbled upon this video and I too have the same type nodal rail. As you, I didn't even buy it for the intended purpose for panoramas but more as just an extension in the flexible use of any type arca-swiss mounting arrangement. I've used it in similar fashion for low-angle shots while allowing upright camera mounting. Otherwise, I've used it as you did, for balancing a camera with larger lens over the mount, in the absence of the lens offering a collar with mounting foot as many zoom lenses do.

Dont apologize for being normal. I can't stand RUclipsrs who ONLY live perfect lives on Social Media and can't relate to missing a shower or wearing a bathrobe to check the mailbox.

You have one of those stupid toy tripods right next to you, it's no surprise you are using the rail wrong.

It was really nice for photos but I didn't need it much so I ended up selling it for a larger video tripod with a fluid head.

Where did you get the Arca Grip Rail you have on the base of your A7 camera?

John Bower from amazon. Just search for A7ii grip and you’ll find a few options within the first page of results
