It's been a while since we have done any mods to the Panamera aka the panny. We were excited to try out the Pedal Commander ( amzn.to/2MhFvjd ) considering that there seemed to be a slight delay with the current throttle delivery. Well check out the video and watch how the car was transformed with this simple plug and play modification.

I did the pedal commander w the cobb stage 1 tune (100 ft-lb) on my 17 macan S and holy cow it's a rocket ship now!! Best money ever spent 👍 great review
Pedal Commanders decrease the programmed-lag/ response time of the drive by wire throttle and make the car far more responsive than the manufacturer intended.
Keep in mind that some of that lag is a built in safety for both you and the engine.

I watched your video several times and was skeptical, but knew my throttle was heavy and there was unnecessary lag. I just installed the Pedal Commander on my 2013 970 Turbo, took it for a drive, and WOW!!!! you were right. This thing is legit!! On Sport + #4 its crazy snappy, so I had to turn it down to Sport #2, and OMG. It's like a new car, feels lighter and is Hela quick like it has a tune.
It was quick before, but now just from installing this device, it woke my car up and actually lightened my stiff pedal up to feel amazing. It really shows you how much the factory de-tunes these cars. I was planning on getting an ECU stage 1 tune, but now I can't image how much quicker and faster it would get with a tune, and dont think I need it now.
I'm super impressed. I guess it makes sense and tells me that a 500 hp twin turbo AWD V8, paired with a PDK, has more than enough power that was just de-tuned out of the car to appeal to a wider range of people and probably to protect the car and the driver from guys like us lol.

Best video review! Mine is coming in tomorrow and I wasn’t sure how it would perform with my car. I have a 2017 Mustang Ecoboost and although it has 320 Torque and 310 HP, it feels flat until the boost kicks in. Also, most the power is in the lower rpm range, so dropping gears sometimes actually makes it feel slower. This vid shows me that it may help my boosted car too.

Great review thank you. 2016 cayenne turbo and yes there's considerable lag in comfort even with JB4 tune. My goal is to have that instant response like naturally aspirated without needing to put into sport or sport+. Porsche does have a memory of throttle response based on driving habits but even driving like a maniac all the time it doesn't solve the lag.

Outstanding info, I have a 2011 Panamera 4, it comes with only sport, but your right it has a slow throttle reaction time. The Pedal Commander will increase my response time, thanks again I'm sold... great review.
My Panamera Turbo also only came with sport mode. It had no Sport Plus or Launch control. Then a purchased Sport Plus and Launch control from Suncoast Porsche and the dealer installed it. Worth every penny. I totally enjoy it. Then I had the car tuned by FVD Brombacher. It feels like a whole new monster. But now I'm debating whether to get a pedal commander on top of the tune. Just wondering if the tune already increases the throttle response as best as possible or if it would still be better with both? Or would the pedal commander be Overkill if you already have a ECU tune?

I was at a 4x4 & Truck show when I met a representative from pedal Commander. In their booth he showed a video, which I think you can find here on RUclips. I own a 2014 Ram 1500 4x4. Their is most definitely a delay in the throttle response. It's a 4x4 not a sport's car I get it. But because of the dual exhaust. I often find my self faced with people who want to see if it's up for a challenge. Because I'm a Jackass I'll give some a quick run.
The pedal Commander would increase throttle response therefore making my truck seem a little quicker.
The pedal commander is really a good upgrade for the money.

This was definitely one of the best things I could have put on the Durango. I have a video on my channel from when I installed a first test drove it. The throttle response is ridiculous at Sport+(4).
Turbos always have a delay. Top end power is good though. I loved the no delay of the super charger I had

When he put it in Sport +4, I freaked out. I have the PC on my car and I can't drive it on the street at that level. The thing takes off when you sneeze on the pedal. lol.

They got something similiar for the camaro, the factory tune there is a delay when you step on it in automatic mode, if you drive in manual shift you wont experience it but in auto you will. But i dont have that issue since the car is tuned anyway. But I know alot of people use it because its plug and play with the car if its stock. Good video.

There's also a way to make the throttle more 1 to 1 through vw vagcom. I was thinking about doing a video on it.

If you continue to change it on the fly, it may kick on your check engine light. Also says that in the directions. Enjoy, I love it

Would've loved to have seen you try it in launch control mode. My 4s even lags then but is a generally a real pita when shooting a gap in the traffic from an intersection. In fast cornering through the twisties I have to throttle on early to defeat it. My VW is even worse

From what I've learned, the only way to get rid of the lag is to flash your car. Personally, city mode is perfect for me for daily driving. Without this, my car feels slow as shit

You said you think the Porsche Panamera Turbo would be basically a whole different monster if you added a ECU software tune in the future in conjunction with the pedal commander. In my opinion, it seems like you wouldn't even need a pedal commander after you had the car properly tuned. I believe the tuner software can dial up your throttle response internally to do the exact same thing as the pedal commander. Meaning the pedal commander would be redundant and unnecessary. Am I correct in assuming that?

I have a 18 Panamera Turbo, do you know of any other mods worth doing? I can’t find anyone who has anything that isn’t only cosmetic, for 17 or 18s
There are several things you can do,..First get it Tuned. That will turn up the turbos and pretty much everything else. Upgrade the "Y" pipe to a Fabspeed, upgrade the exhaust to FVD Brombacher or pretty much any kind, upgrade the diverter valves, upgrade the PDK transmission TCU software. That alone is about 150 to 200 hp increase. If you want even more power then upgrade to bigger FVD turbos. There's plenty you can do depending on how deep your pockets are.
How did you get that connector plug off the pedal assembly.. I've been trying for 30 min to release that connector... removed the assembly like you did and pushing down on the grey button. So should the grey button stay down if it releases all the way? im worried about breaking the clip sticking a screw driver in there..

I did man and on the hellcat it made a slight difference in sport and in sport plus it's too jittery for me. So I took it out and the cool thing is they can reprogram it for my Durango which I plan to do. I hope this helps

I hooked one up to my hellcat and I didn’t notice any difference at all. I think the hellcats already have the quick throttle installed from the factory ? As far as the quarter mile I had no difference in my times.

Most care come from factory with a timed delay from the input of your foot on the pedal to the acceleration of the car aka, a throttle response delay. This is done for safety reasons. I'm guessing due to the hellcats 707 hp from factory and thats a conservative number, you have so much power from the engine, and the transmission is so responsive as well that a pedal commander isnt needed. Easily put, your hellcat makes so much power that the engine IS a pedal commander! lol

i took it off when i got the DME tune (not needed anymore) i never had a problem with it
