@@KlaymenDel yes it does pick up pet hair. Still need to clean it but the pet hair that wasn't vacuumed or cleaned up it will pick it up. I rent and the people before had a pet or 2 not sure how many. I have no pets but this air purifier is picking up pet hair which is crazy 😳 since I don't have pets. So yes it does lol 😆
I recently switched from a Levoit core 300 after getting on the hype train for them. To find it didnt do a ton for my allgeries and slowly realized it wasnt that great. Not to long later did i find out levoit was being heavily questioned for their fake hepa standard filters. And false adversting. So i decided to buy a winix and bought this one. And what i can say is what a difference this made. Allergies are much better and i can breath better it feels like. So im happy with the purchase.
@lostandfound625 the comment I needed. I am allergic to particles in cigarettes. I live in a non-smoking apartment and of course people smoke. I hope this one works.

I want to see you test all of the nuwave oxypure air purifiers (there are 4 I believe). Those are way more expensive but 3 of them are all washable filters. 1 has 3 washable filters and 1 HEPA/Charcoal filter that last up to a year but comes with 4 extra filters (5 total). 3 and 5 year warranty from the manufacturer and all 4 are smart purifiers so you can use an app with them.
I see the comment about cigarette smoke and needing an ozone machine. Aren't those unsafe? You have to leave the house for hours after using correct? I live in apartments with a lot of hookah smoke and cigarette smoke. I need help, I have a severe allergy.
so just to be clear, it can be used as a regular fan? My dog sheds a lot and I came acros this product im still a bit conficited whether it works as a fan or jsut an air purifier!

Smoke machine like that for testing is not a good example as the liquid and the smoke is greasy stuff !! Real test should be done, with incense cones, sticks, and or matches.
I have had my Winix 5500 and I have loved it since day 1.Had it about a year now. Still love it.

I ordered this one hoping it will get rid of the nasty cigarette smell and smoke. My mum smokes a lot. Great review.
This may help filter the current air form smoke but you most likely need an ozone machine for that!

Mine is always blue i did the matches test and fart test it doesn't turn red. Why??
Probably too small a quantity of pollutants to change the overall air quality/volume of your space!
