Hey Everyone, Dorkman was the victim in a terrible drunk driving accident last night. While walking back to work from a dinner break, a drunk driver ran the curb and hit Micheal. He is in critical condition and has a long road ahead of him. Our company has setup a GoFundMe page to help pay for the medical costs and offer any support for him we can. Please Donate what you can or share this story. Link will be in the post below this but if it doesn't search @DorkManScott or #SaveDorkman on twitter to find a bunch of support links
Aidan Ballato Before publicly declaring its a scam and hurting the whole charity event, why don't you do some research. Here is the Down in front forum post about it with a link to this cause. friendsinyourhead.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1808 Here is an audio link from them describing what is going on and this charity as well. friendsinyourhead.com/index.php?id=227 And here is the Facebook page setup by them to raise awareness on his condition and charity drive. facebook.com/Supportdorkman?fref=nf
Aidan Ballato I literally gave 3 other affiliating projects he is involved with all with official statements. I work with Michael, shared a desk with him, and worked on a lot of the same shows. If you think I'd risk my career on a scam you're insane (look up Mark Velazquez and Michael Scott on IMDB if you must). Go on twitter, DorkmanScott's official twitter has posted a link to the same ones I gave you. Why don't you message Ryan for clarification then. For someone who said they were going to Pray for Michael Scott you sure are going way out of your way to hurt him now.
So, I showed my friends RvD and RvD2 and they asked "So, who's better?" I said "Well, in terms of strength, Ryan is better. In both I and II, Dorkman is on the defensive the ENTIRE TIME. There are brief periods where he gains the upper hand, like when he loses his glasses in I or when he takes Ryan's lightsaber in this one. But Dorkman loses the advantage as quickly as he gains it. In terms of strategy, Dorkman prevails here. He get out of every situation he finds himself in. And if he can't out-muscle Ryan, he'll outthink him. Like in RvD I, during the final moments, he lets Ryan force-grab his lightsaber, and proceeds to turn it on when it's at such close proximity to his. So, if you're asking who is better, the answer is neither of them. They're equals." (That's all. Like if you understand and agree.)
Michael "Dorkman" Scott was hit and pinned down by a car in an accident a few years ago. He lost significant motor function, but is still working in sfx
Personally, I think this is the best light saber duel I've ever seen...including the movies. What makes this video work so well is: 1) The choreography. Some Flynning, of course, but not too much. 2.) The music 3) Them showing that light sabers are dangerous (I'm thinking mainly the wall scene.) 4) The fact that they're swing at each other and not just standing back and hitting blades in between themselves. 5) The humor: the force duel and both of them without their weapons. Great video!!
Dorkman uploaded an HD version, also on his channel. It is only 720p though, because that's what we shot it in. The reason this upload exists is kind of funny. RUclips didn't support HD yet, at the time. Even our HD version they hadn't really worked out the compression entirely.
Ryan Wieber Hi Ryan, thanks for the reply! I'll have to try and find the 720p version! Do you know if there is any update on Michael's condition? I haven't heard anything since the initial announcement of the accident. Hope you are well! Cheers :)
Thank you for putting this into perspective for me. I'm a child of the 70s and even *I* have become so steeped in the high-definition screens of the present that I'm ashamed to admit I thought, "What the heck! This isn't even HD!" …Even though I have a video file on my media drive from when I first saved it the year it was released. :(
I love the fight choreography that these two have. It feels like they're really trying to kill each other with every swing of their lightsabers. That always bugged me about the prequels. Every fight felt like they were aiming for the enemy's lightsaber and not the person they were trying to kill. Just goes to show you what happens when no one on set is willing to say no to George Lucas.
This is by far my least favourite duel, but I still love it. That shows how much I love these duels :) also, when Dorkman has recovered, I'd like to see Ryan vs. Brandon vs. Dorkman. Also, please let Ryan win for once. (It'd be a nice change of scenery.)
That awkward moment when a 16-year-old fan-made lightsaber duel on RUclips has better choreography than every fight in the Sequel Trilogy put together...
I always come back and rewatch these... Still the best fan made lightsaber duel ever. Hope this has brought you both great success in your lives. MTFBWY.
love it, dude this is so fucking awesome the effects everything, i love how you got everything looking so real its amazing, keep making these videos please!
I just found this video again after going through my favourites from my old YT channel from like 10 years ago. This video was so epic back then, and still is now! I was like 13 at the time haha.
***** I know, I don't remember the quality being so low haha. I guess it was just normal at the time, so we just accepted it. Now I can't watch anything on YT below 720/1080p.
I dont know why it took me so lon g to find this video, but this is simpley an amazing video. The time, effort, effects and choreography that went into it is mind blowing
holy cow that was amazing! the effects with the sabers were just as good as the effects in the movie and the choreography is justtt a hair close to the movies! wowwwww
The Makashi King's return is CERTAIN! Just got off face book and It made my day man. No wheel chair. No crutches. No walker N0 HELP NEEDED! Mike is walking tall y'all! Listen up. Go and look up Escrima and Ninjutsu. Now think about them combined with the most brutal and technical version of form 2 ever.
This is awesome! I love the choreography, how it was filmed and the location. And I love the comedy in it where 'Dorkman' gets a lightsaber to the face 4:19. Awesome!
EXCELLENT! OUTSTANDING! SUPERBD! I love the part nearly halfway through when they are about to duke it out with fisticuffs and you both look back for--and opt for--your sabers! HILARIOUS!
Truly amazing job. Very well choreographed, convincing (and detailed) visual effects, awsome soundtrack and camera movement. But i imagine it could be even better if the lighting of the enviroment were more dramatical and with improved costumes/characterization. I hope my criticism is well-received by all of you guys, just trying to help. Looking foward to see your next work. Congrats from Brazil!
I remember when this first released. I still show these specific videos to people as an example of why most of the lightsaber scenes in the movies are disappointing. That's why I'm here today. Hi! Hope you're doing good. Thanks for the entertainment.
I also noticed in the movies there's not a whole lot of 1 handed wielding. at 3:03 they're just holding them out there where I see a jedi more holding it up with both and trying to look cool. Exceptions are of course when going for a force move or using 2 sabers or a dual bladed one.
you guys are awesome!!!! I checked Ryan's tutorial on how to do this and I plan on trying soon with a friend. you guys should be hired by lucas to make his special effects
Can't believe it was 7 years ago that I was like "ZOMG CAN"T WAIT FOR THE SECOND ONE!"...time flies...time surely does fly...btw is anyone from this team working on the new star wars film?? If I remember correctly, at least one of these guys did, which is why the effects are so authentic.
Negative. After RvD (the first) I worked for about a year at LucasArts, on the video games. Since then I've migrated into a career in visual effects for television and film. None of us have any involvement in JJ's movie.
Ah ok. Thanks for the reply! Your guys work on these two short films is awesome and was very inspiring for my younger self (too bad I never stuck with that initiative!). Good luck in your career! I'll have to keep an eye out for your name in the shows I watch.
Funny how youtube evolved. I remember seeing this video all over the interwebz and I showed it to all my friends and after 5 years, this got 7 million views. Nowadays it takes one day for a mainstream popstar to reach this amount of views.

MarkHawkCam Aidan, it's not a scam.
Such much better then the original sword coreography in the movies.
my thoughts go out to Dorkman in his loved ones. i hope for his speedy recovery & that he's made much progress since the crash.
This beats even the films by a long shot.
"What the hell are you kids doin' in my warehouse?!?"
"uhh... it's a lightsaber dual"
"damn nerds..."
I love the burn and melting effects you added with the walls and floor, makes the whole thing perfect.
Was anyone else rooting for Dorkman in both fights?
They should do the choreography for the upcoming star wars movies :P

Simply put, a RUclips classic.
The quality difference between this and the original is nuts; it's got the energy of a legit fight.
I still want Ryan vs. Dorkman 3!!!

Great video!!
6:15 Instead of just killing him decides to just stab him in a non-essential part of the body
I guess the idea was for him to die in pain, or at least torture him before he delivers the final blow.
He actually narrowly missed his opponent's heart. Also not to mention he thought he had already won.
Guess he was so confident and arrogant that he wanted to hear Dorkman scream.
Yep, straight out of the Thor textbook
@@JDrocks4ever I guess you could say Ryan should've gone for the head...
