    The same Spanish M42 helmet is used in the 1992 war movie "A midnight clear" stand in German Steel helmet.

      @@steelhelmetstan7305 En efecto, el casco español se utilizó en muchas películas filmadas en España ambientadas el la Segunda Guerra Mundial. ‘Patton’, por ejemplo. El “escudo” frontal metálico era el “AGUILA DE SAN JUAN, en dorado, con la CRUZ DE SANTIAGO, en rojo, dentro. Saludos

    Nice although issued in 1942,none saw combat until 1957 in a minor spanish skirmish...theres three types..in both the original leather liner and revised liner types the shells are the original 42 batch...theres also a parade version with a fiber shell.

      Cheers CJ m8, yeh it is nice, I do like a german helmet that's not a german helmet....a quirk of collecting I think 🤔...what was the skirmish the Spanish were involved with in 1957?. Its nice to have the early and later version and would be even better to get hold of the parade one. I'm unsure what to do with it, initially I was going to put the SS cover on it but after trying it on it doesn't sit well, the helmet is too small. If I strip the paint off , to get it back to the original colour, there will be marks from the bracket on the front. I reckon I will let it just slide into the collection and see how I feel later on....good stuff, all the best m8🙂🙃🙂

    I bought a Spanish helmet back in the 1980's, and it's the same as your green one on the right, but it's got the original liner in it. I don't know how much they are worth now, but it's a great piece to own.

    • @steelhelmetstan7305
      @steelhelmetstan7305  6 месяцев назад

      Cheers Martin, that's a nice helmet to have I reckon....I've seen the ones that I have, later liner, go for £40-£60, and the earlier liner versions starting at £60-£70 and up over. They will never reach the dizzy prices of some other helmets of the period but I still think they are a nice helmet to own as part of a collection or as a stand alone item, thanks again 🙂🙃🙂

    You should research the Irish Army's Vickers M1927 Helmet, which was used between 1927 and 1940.

      @steelhelmetstan7305  7 месяцев назад +1

      Cheers Kevin yes I've seen videos on these helmets, and read a bit about them.....a lot of them where painted white for civil defence I believe, also a great deal of them where used as foundations for an airport runway of all things.....something like that. RUclipsr military collectables, has done a couple of videos on them...they are quite pricey I think 🤔, all the very best 🙂🙃🙂

    I remember seeing these being sold as 're-issued German helmets' (!!) for $14.99 back in the 70s / 80s, complete with repro decals. Perhaps yours is a 'German' helmet bought out of the 'Exchange & Mart' as I recall seeing similar ads there back in the 80s. I'd leave it as is, over painted and with decal remnants and all. I thought that the M42 Spanish helmet, despite the name, wasn't issued until after WWII??

      @steelhelmetstan7305  7 месяцев назад +1

      Cheers Al, yeh I might leave it as it is, I it was an exchange & mart one that would be cool, there's probably no way of knowing. Regarding the issue date of these helmets , during my extensive research....Wikipedia 🤣🤣🤣, it states they were issued in 1943...obviously I stand to be corrected on that one, still it's a nice collectable piece for my growing assortment of junk!🤣🙂🙃🙂
