This song came out what my life started falling apart, not through a break up but from the disease of addiction. 20 years later I'm clean listening to this and having a ponder to all those years of madness. I'm so glad to be back to the person I was always ment to be. If you are reading this and you are struggling, it's never to later to change your life around. Take it easy my friend you are loved
Finally rediscovered this beauty after 13 years of hearing it at my school friends funeral.. we were both 12 at the time he passed away... beautiful music.
"We worried when we began this journey, that it'd be a bit nerdy. But it wasnt. And we sincerely hope that all of you have found these rally-bred titans, as amazing as we have. They're cars that put up with all of our nonsense, never once losing their majesty. But there is absolutely no doubt about the real hero of this adventure. The evo died not once, but twice. And both times, it rose from the dead... and soldiered on. And that's why the Evo and its traveling companions are exactly the sort of cars a show like this is honoured to honour. "
I’d forgotten how very very much I love this song. Full of emotion to me, but the ending is so uplifting. Now the dark is rising, and a new moon is born. That is a beautiful feeling.
I've had this song stuck in my head for 20 years, no idea what it was called it who it was by and then BAM! It's just came to me as I'm falling asleep - even better then I remember ❤️
That’s really cool when something like that happens. The internet and its capability to help hold memories is one of its most significant features. To be able to see old shows and songs once forgotten is truly priceless. ❤️
@@Zoofactory I'm with you Chris well said mate!! I was lucky enough to se them in Glasgow at 'the garage' in 2001. Thank you for reminding the world and me of these precious internet gifts/moments
I am such a dunce. All this time I thought the song was by The Flaming Lips. Only looking up Mercury Rev recently as a rocking horse we got for our daughter was named Mercury. My brain just keeps thinking Mercury... Rev.
I thought it was Sparklehorse. Its so beautiful and transports me back to a time when some bitch totally fucked me up. But I still love it because my life was better then(poorer, but free).
You're not a dunce at all! They are similar in a lot of ways, especially on their albums Deserter's Songs and The Soft Bulletin, which were recorded in the same studios at the same time!
@@TheHiddenPart I believe it was actually featured even earlier - during the Rolls Royce Phantom review on the Humber Bridge, I'm certain that's where a young me first heard it and was blown away by the beauty of it. That, I think, was season 2 and so was quite close to the actual release date of the song. I was disappointed that on subsequent broadcasts of that episode, they substituted a different piece of music in (presumably due to licensing challenges) I've been wondering what this gorgeous piece of music is for, genuinely, most of my life (I'm 27 and would have first heard it on TG over nineteen years ago), and only found out today. It's a good day. :)
@@PluckinA_Connor it is a shame, yes BBC did release clips of Top Gear with a different soundtrack because licenses.. it makes it even harder for aficionados. It is incredible the cult following TG did achieve in the past.

I've been searching for this song since I was a child. Decades later thanks to Googles to find a song from someone humming it I finally found it. Such a relief, and such a wonderful song.
“I dreamed that I was walking and the two of us were talking of all life’s mysteries. The words that flow between friends..” hits me so fucking hard. Thinking about my father who’s getting treated for cancer.
The album this song was on, All is Dream, came out on 9/11. Listen to the album in its entirety and what you will hear is a dark, haunting, masterpiece. Then think of the date it came out and its even more poignant
