The soul that sins will die In a prophetic message given in Ezekiel 18, God emphasizes that He will bless and preserve those who live righteously (verses 5-9). I'm sure Heaven and Paradise are wonderful, but I very rarely think about them. I'll get there when I get there, let His will be done. Until then, I care about knowing Him, preaching His word, praying and letting Him know me, and, above all, aspiring to be His servant in all things. Not that I don't appreciate this video! In my late 20s and early 30s I strayed far from the teachings of Christ, though I've never stopped loving hin and our Holy Father, but I was surrounded by witches and was myself practicing divination with tarot cards, but I also enjoyed learning about ancient and even neo-religious beliefs, one of which came from the Nords who had a belief in 3 rings of existence, one here on Earth, when they died they thought you went to the 2nd ring where you would be evaluated on faith and knowledge, if you didn't have enough you were reincarnated back to Earth, but if you passed you would move on to the final plane, what we call Heaven. That would not be Paradise or Heaven to them, and I wondered what kind of dwelling they are in now. Then in the comment section somewhere, I ran across this and it made sense: N. T. Wright remarks that the word translated "mansions" (in the "many mansions" statement) is the word for the lodging houses or way-stations used by travelers on Roman roads. That dovetails well with the idea that we go to a place where we do not remain, but move on from. Mansion in the old english just means a temporary lodging place. It's come to mean a grand house over time. What do you think?

I'm sure Heaven and Paradise are wonderful, but I very rarely think about them. I'll get there when I get there, let His will be done. Until then, I care about knowing Him, preaching His word, praying and letting Him know me, and, above all, aspiring to be His servant in all things.

The other two are temporal teaching devices that like our flesh bodies will pass away when their usefulness is over. So let Us not get caught up in the "rapture" of false doctrines and wishful thinking. The idea of a "new heaven and earth" just means that they will no longer seem to exist as separate states. What has always been need not be "re-created".

I was taught that as well, then, recently, it occurred to me "of all the cultures in this world, many would not want a 'mansion' per se. That would not be Paradise or Heaven to them, and I wondered what kind of dwelling they are in now. Then in the comment section somewhere, I ran across this and it made sense: N. T. Wright remarks that the word translated "mansions" (in the "many mansions" statement) is the word for the lodging houses or way-stations used by travelers on Roman roads. That dovetails well with the idea that we go to a place where we do not remain, but move on from.
Mansion in the old english just means a temporary lodging place. It's come to mean a grand house over time. What do you think?
