- The average hospital visit to repair lacerations in Texas can cost $500 or more. These shoes are your insurance policy when fishing the jetties, the rocks, or any slippery surface on the water. Simms Flyweight wading boots have amazing grip with the use of the Hardbite cleat.

I've been seeing your posts for quite a while now, and this one finally got me to subscribe. I really enjoyed the information in this one. Thanks, and I look forward to seeing more!
Awesome, thank you! 👍
Great review Marc. A solid pair of rock shoes are worth their weight in gold. You don't want to slip and hit that rock.
U hit next level brother thanks 4 everything 🙏 💯
Very informative and well done video and comments!
Great information, been wanting to purchase some new ones. Now I know what to get now. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Great details Mark, I haven’t try the boots but I do have try and taste the rocks and thanks G I didn’t break my neck, I was scared as Bambi in the movie and the black and blue stayed with me for little while. I did already search your videos already looking info for info on the metal things to screw into the shoes, now you just teach me way more 😂 thank you and blessings to you. Tight lines bro
Dang! Gotta be careful on them rocks. Stay safe brother 👍
Thank you sir for all the info you put out there.
You are very welcome 🤙
I have these ice fishing wrap arounds that my mom bought me when I spent a year in Minnesota for boots. They work great for jetty fishing.
Can you please list the name and model you have please.
Very informative and interesting!
Thanks Christine!
Try Korker wading boots, it’s all we use in the Northeast. They are light and comfortable and the studs on them will have you standing on the slipperiest of rocks
Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll look them up.
I lived and was raised in Freeport, TX. In the 60's and 70's I fished the Quintana and Surfside jetties, long before they widened and put new granite, the jetties we're at best, dangerous at times. Lots of slipping and skidding, and many butt falls! I got me a pair of golf shoes, and they worked great! Used mink oil to make them last, but eventually the salt water got them,so just got another pair, and could access the end of the jetties! Many a big speck got caught!! Good video bro!
Thanks Bruce. Can you please list the brand name of the golf shoe and model please.
Mark, that was so many years ago, I can't remember the brand name, but I bought them at the golf shop at the local golf course. I did try baseball cleats, but wasn't pleased with the wobble feel. I'm 75 now, and the memory ain't that great anymore. Again, love the video's of my old fishing grounds, brings back many fond memories. Thank you for that! Wish I had the lure selections they have now but, many a speck and red succumbed to mirror lures and Johnson spoons, flounder was always caught with finger mullet and live shrimp(Big ones too)
Thanks again Bruce!
@@MDLRFishing I recognize a lot of the places you fish, of course there were no kayaks then, so I done a lot of surf and shore fishing. Here's a tid bit for you, if you ever get down Surside beach way, look for a historical sign about the Confederate ironclad, Arcadia, i.e. the boilers as us locals called them. With a southeast breeze, it gives you green clear water, and you wade out to first sandbar and fish the cut with your trout lures and I know you can snag some trophy trout and reds. I have caught many specs there of 5 lbs and bigger.Wasn't no prob limiting on monster trout or red fish!!
Thanks, I’ll keep this in mind 👍
Is looking for a jetty walking shoes. Great info Mark.
👍
The best wading boots I have found are the Soft Science Fin and the Terafin (lace up). They stick to rocks without felt or cleats. The soles are a little soft but they do work. They are very light and are great for travel because of that. They did go out of business so you can't get them anymore. Sims makes some quality products but they are usually very expensive. You can also buy short Stainless Steel metal screws or wood screws with hex heads and put them in the soul of your boots.
👍
Semper Fi Brother!
Rah!
Semper Fi Marine!
Rah!
Mark you should try the Korker wading boat
Just picked up the newer simms freesalt. They are much better than their last generation. Very comfy and hefty. Got them and a new set of G3 waders.
Simms sell a neoprene sock to wear when ypu have on your boots but not your waders.
Dang, them G3 are NICE 🤙
@@MDLRFishing theyre awesome. I was torn between the Orvis Pro and the G3s. The Orvis Pro were awesome too but Bayou City Anglers sold me the G3s at the older 599 price. Can't go wrong with Simms though.
I use the Korkers with my TEVA water shoes. it turns out that my shoes and boots fit inside the Korkers perfectly- no slack. I don't put them on until I get out on the jetty and i need to have them on.
Nice to have that perfect fit 🙌
@@MDLRFishing I wear a size 14 shoe. and after reading the Korkers website ordered the XXL size. when I got them they were a full 1" too big. I sent them back and ordered the XL size and the inner measurement was a perfect 13", which turns out to be exactly how long all my size 14 shoes and boots are actually long ??
..good to know ;) .....
I play golf so I have used golf shoes in the past. just buy the cheap tennis shoes with metal cleats and they work. but you should rinse them with a vinegar water solution when you get home to keep them from dying from the saltwater..
I love my Korkers. and with my TEVA water shoes they work great
btw.. I wear thin flyweight nylon sock type waders. they also fit in everything i wear fishing or hunting. with normal socks, or without..
Have you tried salt off for your shoes?
Hey is that fish a yellow tail tuna? I’ve never fished saltwater.
Jack Crevalle
Do you know of a neoprene bootie that will keep your feet dry as long as you don't go over the boot with water
Waterproof socks can be purchased from Amazon.
Get some jetty spikes they work the best
Did a Google search, nothing in particular shows up. Please list a brand and model name.
@@MDLRFishing i fished alot of jetties in NJ for stripped bass . There is a store in Ocean city NJ called fin-atics i think that is where I got my last pair of spikes if they don't have 5hem they can point you in the right direction. If you find them they're a game changer .good luck . And they strap right to your shoes
Thanks again Steven!
@@MDLRFishing no worries good luck
Anyone looking for a decent, inexpensive, lace up, wade boot sized for wearing with stocking foot waders, Academys magellan west bays are actually very good for the price.
Spray them with t-9
Simms has gone downhill, I would recommend Orvis for waders and boots.
As someone who just yesterday went into orvis and tried on their pro waders, several boots, then simms at bayou city, I strongly disagree. Orvis is nice, but even they admit they're not at simms level yet.
@@ETuss713 maybe so,I've just know of people that had bad experiences with simms.
@@smcewen7 I understand and believe it. When one company has a massive market share for so long there's likely to be issues with some.
I was impressed with the Orvis Pro waders. They had great features, the fit was good, and the finish along with the material was great. The boots were nice, but not as well done as the waders. The Orvis boots cost more than Simms boots. Orvis was nice, shop was nice, and the people in it were great. Unfortunately they're just not quite G3s.
Plus the Bayou city Angler had not increased the G3s to 699 yet. They were still the same coat as the Orvis Pros, 599.
