It's sad how someone's story can come to an end just because they met the wrong person.
I'm a female recovering alcoholic and there were tons of situations in the past that could have led to something like this. So sorry for her and hope others in the same spot can get the help they need in time.

I totally understand I'm a female in recovery from a life-threatening chronic eating disorder. So I found myself in connection And in relationships with really messed up People that preyed on my vulnerability as I was trying to get stronger and find my way. I dated several alcoholics and substance abusers.I guess I understand the addiction and their plight because I was suffering too. I have a lot of respect for people who can fight the good fight and come out on top. So you should be really proud of yourself.

There was a documentary about this case which stated that, after Lea's brother, Max, elicited a confession out of the loner, Max beat the living sh!t out of him. THEN went to the police.
I usually don't condone violence... USUALLY.
the police were actually already there becaue they were following Chris. They LET the brother beat the crap outta him before they made themselves known and made the arrest. It was one less thing they had to do I guess.

I don’t think the problem was Chris’s looks. I’ve seen uglier guys get better looking girls. I think the problem was Chris’s personality.
He wasn’t unattractive. I can only imagine that the way he spoke and behaved caused revulsion in others.
There were boys I found attractive that others didn't. And there were boys others found attractive that I didn't. I think some people just have different preferences than others.

Chris was not “repulsive”. He was average looking and some women may have considered him somewhat handsome. But he was weird and had extremely low self esteem. Many ugly guys have success with women, but you need attitude and personality for that.

I think when Dr.Grande said "repulsive" this was a description of how he came off to people not a statement just about his physical looks. Even if if he was average looking (generous IMO) there are more reasons someone could be repulsive than just being physically ugly.

10:25 Landfills are notoriously difficult to search. There's a case in which a little girl was killed and thrown away by her mother and, even though the officers knew which receptacle the girl's body was placed into, as well as the exact date and time (as seen on CCTV, not witness testimony/confession), they still failed to find her body after days of searching the landfill.
Seasoned officers left the site in tears, knowing her little body was still buried under pounds of garbage. It was really sad.
Searching a landfill has to be one of the most disgusting jobs imaginable, akin to searching a sewerage plant or Chris's apartment.

I can tell you that apartment is only getting a B- in cleaning. I lost my job 2012, needed a dramatic rent reduction, and so I moved in with seven other guys my age ($1200 to $150). No crimes, but there were some special kinds of gross. I had to get rid of the roaches before I moved in. One person had an entire room filled with trash that would get over his bed. He would like empty it out enough to find the bed, but instead of going all out, he stopped when he found the bed and made a footpath.

I find it fascinating how dr. Grande presents these horrible cases. He gives the facts and analyses them in order to come to his conclusion.All this without sickening pictures of the crime that are all to often featured in real crime videos. In his narrative he is respectful towards the victims. He brings the case with a plain face and uses subtle humour. It’s is quite difficult in today’s youtube land to have a successful true crime channel without showing the gory details. Nonetheless dr. Grande has found the formula to create his videos in such a way that he doesn’t need this. This is why it’s by far my favourite channel that deals with real crime.
The audio recording of his tarot reading with the brother is one of THE cringiest things I have ever heard and that’s saying something. I had to pause and walk around a few times.

I speculate that her stepfather had a large part to play in that decision and also her relationship with a much older man and heroin.

For real. Dr. Grande's analysis' are a source for therapy for me. They let me know Im not alone in questioning the motives of others, that even an irrational situation can be assessed rationally, and that if something were to ever happen to me or a loved one, there would be at least one person removed from the situation that would care enough to mention me afterwards and help others as a cautionary tale. And also his manner and temperament is VERY calming. I wish him nothing but the best.
All these cases of exceedingly creepy men makes me feel society is failing at nurturing well adjusted individuals.
You aren't nurtured by society, but by your parents. Some parent/s do a very inadequate job for a variety of reasons. If prospective parents gave a lot of thought to the realities and responsibilities of parenting before reproducing, the world would be a much better place. Not all people should become parents.

What kind of help could/should have been offered to Kris after his diagnoses and medical discharge from the military? What kind of help could/should have been available to Lea? Both suffered from untreated mental illnesses which if properly treated may have kept Kris from committing s7ch a violent crime and saved Leas life.
People have the right to refuse treatment. Unfortunately it's a symptom of mental illness that they don't want treatment. Members of my family have needed help, and it's heartbreaking, but they have the right to be as they are untreated.
