I truly appreciate all these step by step videos. Hi from Sydney Australia.
Thank you Peter👍👍👍👍👍
That means a lot to me.
Thanks Scott, I’m about 4 days ahead of you. Love the smell of that 90 w gl1
Need more videos with the tub on, makes things night and day in comparison.
Hi Scott - good video and perfect timing. After a complete jeep teardown (1948 CJ2A) I've rebuilt the transmission and transfer case and when it stops snowing I'll be filling the cases. By the way, I still need to get the engine rebuilt. Know anyone around St. Louis. Thanks for a great series
I’ll ask around about the machine shop.
I have a few friends in St. Louis👍
Scott, really enjoy all of your videos. Will you ever do a video on the removal and replacement of the external emergency brake?
Excellent video!
Shout out from the fellow 503'r!
Good to know Scott, Thanks
Glad I watch this video I got the same oil that he recommends
I have full set of VERY old 4 point X 1/2" drive, sockets I use on drain plugs :)
Those are fantastic for sure.👍
8 point sockets work on the fill plugs
Yes they do. I’m hunting now for a vintage set of square sockets👍
Would love to know the size of the special tool you made so that I can also make one and is it the same size for the differential drain plugs.
Keep up the good work

I have a 1948 Willys CJ2A. Can I use the same 90W GL1 fluid for the front and rear differential.
Yes
That is my understanding.
Gl5 should be used in differentials and the book calls for gl4 in trans and t case. Check the book. Gl1 is news to me
My comment on gl4 and 5 applies to the civilian jeeps. On the early war units listen to g503 and the book. I understood that diffs took gl5 so now I am confused. More research needed on my part.
Gruacias excelente video
Great video! Did you do anything to the 3/8” extension to make it fit that plug? I’m under the impression you removed the ball retainer but can’t be to sure. Thanks!
That looks like what he did, but you can buy square plug wrenches that fit on a ratchet
I found one in my grandfathers tool box that I keep in my Jeep now
The ball depresses when pushed into the plug
Hi, am using a 4DW93-84E back pulley. No gear label guide. Managed to find #1 am seeking a guide
hello Scott, I'm restoring a willys mb that has been sitting for 30 years, and i was wondering if flushing the transmission and transfer case with offroad diesel would have any negative effect on them.
Ben Dumm I have heard of folks doing that. I don’t see how it could hurt. I cleaned my CJ2A axles with diesel. Just be sure to dispose of the fuel properly after use👍
Thanks Scott for the quick response.
im currently using sae 90 GL-1/2/3 will this be fine ? or should i change the oil ?

I have never seen that denotation. GL - 1 / 2/3 . From your link it appears to be for vintage vehicles. Maybe other viewers could answer this question. 👍
great thanks for the answer ! love the video's !
