As a photographer it’s amazing seeing everyone learning about bokeh for the first time lmao, photography and videography are amazing hobbies and there’s so much creativity potential in both. I’d highly recommend trying to get into one of the two

@@ozordiprince9405well you can be a photographer and not know everything there is about photography and the properties of light, not everyone has learned it for years before they, can call themselves a "photographer", you can be an amateur photographer for example, who knows a few things and loves what he's doing
well, actually in that case you are changing the shape of the light instead of the shape of the aperture. both can be used to get this effect, with proper focusing that is.
I remember growing up with cardboard glasses around Christmas time that had lenes that did this for your eyes. The idea was you'd look at Christmas lights and you'd see them all in whatever shapes the lenses were designed for, usually things like Snowflakes and Snowmen. They were awesome.

I knew about this with just my eyes, looking through a blanket with tiny holes in a dim room while slowly blinking lets you see a hundred eyelashes blinking at the same time.
There are cheap glasses that look like solar eclipse glasses which do that big with your normal vision, it’s a really cool thing and the way it turns with your head reminds me of astigmatism

I want to get back into film and photography and i wanna try this. I was doing focus pulling when i first got out of highschool and kind of stopped doing it when i had to take on other responsibilities in my personal life. I just wanna enjoy life. I might never find a stable job given what our world has become but that wont stop me from being creative.

My favorite trick is to make the cutout just a circle, but slight smaller than the actual iris. It results in a swirly bokeh

The Christmas Tree place near me has glasses that change lights to whatever shape is on the glasses, Santa, snowmen, etc. it was pretty cool
I love practical effects and you can't get any more practical than this.
