In Buddha Garden July 1st - July 6th 2024

After the huge effort of clearing up last week, this week has been a bit quieter. Although with fairly regular rain showers it has been the perfect growing weathers. We spent this week planting out a lot of seedlings of different sorts as well as putting up sticks for our climbing plants - mainly beans and snake gourd. They responded very well and within hours were starting to grow up the sticks. The rain has been good for some of our fruit and we harvested a good amount of pineapples this week as well as a jackfruit. Finally this is the season when flame of the forest trees are in flower and of course that includes the one we planted in Buddha Garden. The flowers look luminous in the right light and when you look around the tree you can see how it spreads its redness around itself as the flowers fall.

Flowers of flame of the forest tree are edible...it is called Gulmohar in Hindi which literally means Flower Peacock for its flamboyant display of colors. Fabaceae family
