This is one of my favorite songs song by so many of the old school gospel groups. Thank you JESUS for giving me and my brothers a mother and father, who when they were alive and young, they used to play the gospel albums, like The Five Blind Boys of Mississippi, The Pilgrim Jubilees, Sam Cooke and the Soul Stirrers, etc.
Cleve and Clay Graham are legends sure enough, but at that time, they had another true legend in Rev. Charlie Brown on that high tenor....he went on to the Violinaires with Robert Blair and became iconic.
I agree totally MsMerising, I too had this on vinyl long ago. I also had the great pleasure of hearing them sing it many times in person back in the day. It was one of their top songs the crowd waited for them to perform. So I along w/u and i'm sure many others, just sit back and sigh, close my eyes and go back in time.
What ever happened to the original Peacock recordings? I had the original Peacock (cat# 1819) Stretch Out on tape once (the B side was Evening Sun, but I don't have the record, just a tape recording). I tried to find it coz I hadnt heard it in a while. It vanished! I was like "Well I guess I'm going to have to wait til it resurfaces on iTunes or until I get to Heaven and we ALL sing along with The Jubes themselves, Stretch Out in praise right before The Lamb."..

@411Soulman1 The 45" is MINDBLOWING - changed my life. I have it on a compilation called 'Straight Street' but WHERE that is (I move around the world alot, lol) I have no clue. I think somewhere on the Australian Eastern seaboard, lol
I'm profoundly jealous...the only "golden age of gospel" artist I have had the pleasure of seeking are the 5 Blind Boys. When Clarence Fountain walked in I cried like a baby, lol...
Ah yes, Clarence Fountain, Five Blind Boy's Of Alabama. Seen them many times back n the mid and late 60's. What a performence huh? The Mighty Clouds Of Joy are still are my all time favs. But I've seen many more back then, Clouds of course, Pilgrim Jubilee's, Caravans, James Clevland, Swan Silvertone's, Swanee Quintet, Counsolar's, Robert Blair and the Violinaires, I could go on but I think you got the picture. I was 15>20. Just had 2 rub it n just alittle sorry. Lv. thm all. U would hv njoyed.
liked this song for years. Prior to this, there was another version posted that was longer, who has that version? It was not gospellin, I think it was AGQC... that had another version please reload.
I'm looking for the song, "Stay on the Line" the way you recorded it. Is there a video of that on RUclips? I've been searching all over and can't seem to find it!

Good ole country gospel. I’m loving it. 💚
Mrs. Cheeks was an absolute wiz on that piano. Definitely, one of my favorite gospel performances from that time period.

I'm profoundly jealous...the only "golden age of gospel" artist I have had the pleasure of seeking are the 5 Blind Boys. When Clarence Fountain walked in I cried like a baby, lol...
@MsMerising Yes I'm jealous, all we had then was
the Beatles, you see, we missed out on this great music in the UK.

@sankow2 It's my greatest joy.
Is that the same lead guitar player that they have now, Bobby McDougle?
If you took away the 🎸 their voices and clapping in perfect unison would have been more than enough. ANOINTED.
@reidboys You should be very proud
@kannon29 AAAMMMEEEENNNNNNNNN!!!!!!! they don't sing like this no more.....
I'm looking for that song, "Stay On The Line" I can't seem to find your version of it anywhere!

@DaCorks Yep, thats Charlie Brown all right.
@soulman1950
I hear that groups toured the UK back in the day..? :)
Oh Mr. Heath, why don't the bass guitar players don't sing? Usually the lead guitarists sing. Why is that? Or is there a reason

Actually, I believe that Cleve Graham is singing lead on this one, mwizard45. (Note the patch of hair on his right jaw at about the 1:30 mark.)

@1962tena
Um, what you had to say bears no relevance to what I said. Please, take the babble elsewhere. Kind regards.
