It is just me or the sound effects are a little bit underwhleming in relation to FlatOut 2? The hits, the cars tumbling, the engines - it seems it's a bit less interesting and powerful than in FlatOut 2. The engienes don't sound any better, I feel like they need some audio buff in this game. PS: I'm a sound guy working in the industry ;)
6:22 - listen, there's this one plastic-sounding generic collision could played like 4 times in this sequence, there needs to be more variation here and more elements in it. If there was 3 more randomized layers of metal bending, breaking, maybe some glass added on top of that it'd be very different, plus the base sound douns sound very plastiky to me, not like a ton of steel on wheels, but a crushed plastic bottle bouncing around.
Yes i agree, they changed the audio many times... the funny thing is it sounded the best (for me) when it was in early acces years ago... of course there were crashing sounds repeat over and over but the overall mixing was better it sounded more powerful. Now it sounds dull, often not playing crashing sounds when they should... i think they made it that way to prevent the repeating sounds... but it just makes it feel weaker
I was going to buy this game because it reminded me of Flatout on the original Xbox but I thought the drivers would fly out of the cars and it would have bonus games as well 🤦🏻♂️ nevermind
