John Free episode is one of your best. Now that there is Patreon, it is a great way to get financial support so you can work other great photographers out there. This will also contribute greatly to photography. I see many great photographers working alone, unknown, yet struggling in silence. I would love to see people working together more like this and make greater work.
I for one am very grateful you did the video on and with John Free. I'm not sure if I would have ever heard of him without you doing this. I now have seen a good deal of videos of him on his RUclips channel and love him and can't get enough of him. There is nothing like watching a man who is the best at what he does with the years of experience that he has. That's also why I watch your show religiously. I just wanted to say thanks for everything!
Like a lot of folks I suppose, I'm having trouble bustin through this wall of self consciousness while doing street work. As you say, in this day and age, cameras and (in my case) big ugly photographers can bring a sense of uneasiness to folks in public. Watching John work and becoming part of the environment was a nice bit of inspiration to watch. I've always used a somewhat inconspicuous sneaky approach while photographing strangers. John just seems to let it all hang out and be natural. Thanks Ted and John for showing me a new approach. Now if we can bottle his energy!
I didn't think I could be this moved by a behind the Scenes video, but here I am ... touched. Your passion for photography - and not just for cameras, but the history behind it, the various photographers etc. - is inspiring. I'm so glad I found this chanel. I love vintage cameras and I started shooting on a Lubitel 2 the other day mostly because I found your videos on medium format so encouraging.
I overly enjoyed to watch the little docuvid of Mr. John Free and I am hoping to see more about him and the likes of his stature. I've learnt a lot the little I know about photography by reading books and the many books I read mostly written by Mr. John Freeman and see the likeness of the names of the two photographers. Thanks to you Ted for this enchanting session with Mr Free.

I'm a beginning photographer and full time professional classical musician so your comment on the Beethoven Quartet in relation to photography resonated deeply. Very nice follow up to the John Free episode.
John has a great talent. When he sees a shot, he keeps aware of the surroundings, and awaits the bonus interaction that will enter the frame to add to the composition and storytelling. That's what street photography is about.
Elliot Erwitt is a master of this genre. It would be wonderful if you could interview this man just like you did for Harold Feinstein. Mr. Erwitt is 87 years old and I would love to learn from him before the inevitable happens. This would be the ice cream on the cake.

Great work Ted, Really enjoy your show a lot, I especially like it when you explore the work of other photographers and analyze why its good work and what to look for. Picked up a digital camera again late last year, watched you show and now i have several vintage film cameras i develop my own black and white film, medium format and 35mm. All largely because of the discovery of your show. So many thanks Ted! being a Brit (currently living in Canada) i'd love to see a show on Bailey or Don Mcculin .

Thanks for the video about John Free! This behind the scenes video was also good. I don't think I have commented on one of your videos before but I wanted to let you know that I especially like these two videos.
You could probably start doing similar videos with photographers in Dallas maybe? There have to be some press photographers or art photographers there. Maybe some of them would like to share their knowledge?

I love the photography history lessons as well as more current artists as well, this Mr Snow is quite a character, I would love ver to walk the walk with him as well!
Brilliant thank you. I need to develop the ability to see / identify a potential picture first of all and then wait for those happening moments shown here: a head appearing, a kid running by or whatever it may be. That's this weeks exercise with my new Z50. Thanks again.

Fantastic video Ted. I have one question that is not one that I typically ask. I don't usually ask it because it often comes from a place where the asker thinks that craft is just technology, and let me be clear, I think that the technique, style and context of every shot in the John Free video is exquisite. That said, what camera, and what process did you use to get such magnificent black and white pictures? John Free's work was striking, but man your video was better. How did you grade it, were you using styles or LUTs? The effect was stunning, really really great. Good job, man. Good job.

John is a really great snapper but a safer way 2 shoot on a street is 2 follow William egglestons style where its more about light and objects. Great bid though
