I rode free ride bikes back around 2005-2008. I ride an enduro bike now and it's more capable than those old FR bikes. Cool to see free ride bikes coming back
I own the 4th generation of the spindrift and i could not be happier, it handles everything from riding up a steep hill to gnarly dh lines. Perfect bike for everything
People complaining that it's an ad. Lol.. If only making videos was free eh? Still good content regardless. You get insight from a pro rider but because they focus on the bike you all complain? Do you feel smart you figured out it was a sponsored video? Is that why you're yelling from the rooftop? Lol. Get a life dudes..
Freeride is not dead. This is evidenced by people's engagement with freeride content online. DH is entertaining, but seeing guys like Remy, Dale, Dave, etc riding janky shit seems more relatable.
Thanks for the video. I might be old school, but jump parks don’t = freeride for me. Natural rocks, drops, features are freeride. The other is a jump bike.
compared my old bike in the 2000s to my ride today, i just got a "mini-demo"stumpjumper alloy and i feels like a big bike from the early days...so i´m doing exactly the same like in the past:give a shit about marketing and ride my bike like its the last day on earth ^^ ride on! freeride will never die
Enjoyed this video ( Was it sponsored by Propain?). Two of the best Mountain bikers in the world with wildly different styles. I think what Remy does is slightly different from Free-riding and should be called something else. Maybe 'Feature riding' or 'mountain-style' or
@@TheFatSteez Sorry if the truth hurts. Remy had a hard time qualifying for a World Cup and he gets smoked if he races at Crankworx so he quit racing and does it for the gram and RUclips. Yeew!🤘🏻
I love the rampage/hardline thing the best and that’s why I want a freeride bike. Unfortunately, I do not have a bike but I have the ‘age’ in rampage! Geez I am funny… not.
I saw freeride in the title and immediately knew it's a propain ad. It's cool that propain keeps the long travel 27,5" alive. But even though they try to literally choke us with the word "freeride", the carbon version comes with 445mm chainstays in all sizes, 460mm reach for the size medium and only mix/29" wheel setup. It's a super enduro and they are slapping on the "freeride" name as a cheap marketing trick.
@mcspikesky so does the freeride bike actually ride like a real freeride bike? Nope even a Norco shore was categorized as FR but perform like a Race bike. Some companies trying to pump some money creating big travel trail bikes than a actual FR bikes with high progression and small wheelbase. FR bikes are a scam just go get a old DH frame 26-27.5 era. Look better and ride better.
A video about the evolution of freeride and freeride bikes would feature multiple brands and some more history and background of the sport... This was nothing more than a Propain ad
So much content is becoming an "advitoriol"......I understand that you must achieve or generate positive commerce but these edits are coming across as adverts and your teams will soon need to pick a team rather that be "review, or test" or an industry edit.
Such bullshit pinkbike catering so slavishly to a brand in a video when we are supposed to appreciate their reviews of products and trust their advice.
Ok i cant stand Christina anymore, recycling topics like cocpit setup, suspension and making adds. Whats next, flat vs clipless pedals or sponsored helmet review?
Terminology such as XC, Trail, All Mountain, Freeride, Enduro, DH, Trials are all about the type of riding or competitive event. It has nothing to do with the particular bike that is being ridden. If I take what most people view as a Trail or Enduro bike to Whistler are they now DH bikes? If not, what if I take a DH bike to Whistler and ride the same trails, is it now a Trail Bike? If race a DH event on a Trail bike it must be a DH bike correct?
Nice Propain Ad
most people buying bikes twice the price for no reason need a little help
🤣🤣
HEY REDBULL, GIVE RÉMY MÉTAILLER A HELMET. HE'S EARNED IT!
Damn right!
I think you need to do competitions to earn a helmet.
Don’t think remy is the type to take a energy drink sponsorship
Maybe he likes being a freelancer
@@colinhennessey5076 Remy will have different tiered sponsors for his wedding if he can.
I love this video format. It is a propain ad, but a bit more subtle than the latest Canyon ads. I like hearing about setups rather than specs.
Sad thing is that pinbike haven’t tag it as an ad 🤷🏻♂️
Free ride will never die! The trail doesn’t go on forever!

Can't believe my Sticker kept onto that Dirty Merchy Sign for exactly one year now. Will hopefully see it again when I return next season.

Impressive product placement- good use of the athletes

Exactly 👍
Always love hearing from Carson, 27.5 forever!
It is basically a dying breed!
@@fpeter01 probably, but I don’t care and compared to my old school 26” bikes, 27.5 is a big wheel 🤣
Totally agree. His relaxed style is just incredible!
Propain MTB ad.
Yes they openly say the video is supported by Propain. So what?
Pinkbike and GMBN are in Propain's pocket, I love it!

Tell me this is an ad without telling me it’s an ad
Yeah, propain are really cleaning up in the market since nukeproof went pop, and canyon stopped being so aggressive with their marketing.
it says in the video description ''supportet by propain''
Pinkbike went shill on us.
youtube is mostly ads disguised as helpful videos. pinkbike just playing the game.
ive got an intense slopestyle that ive upgraded. OG freeride with a modern touch

Yes I agree...I'm doing park laps , trail , enduro , Mega avalanche all whit my free ride bike the Canyon Torque...
Good video, I like the bike in both configurations
Remy is freeride. 100%
Carson on AL version. And Remy on the CF version with different geo right?
Trek Remedy 8 is another good free ride bike!
So Pinkbike is done with Trek ? :P I guess we already know the 2024 Pinkbike Bike Of The Year award winner !
Freeride will never die because that is how pros that are too slow to win races can still make a living.
What a piss weak thing to say

Hey Cristina, are you riding an mx spindrift in S size?
Because I remember that before the spindrift in size S was only 27,5.
Dang is it already cold there?? lol it's mid September

Trek remedy 😎
180mm travel dude.
More like this please. Great stuff.
It’s not a free ride it’s an expensive ride
FREE RIDE THE FUCKING WORLD
Was excited for a freeride focused video, but that was kind of lame.
Both dudes are shredders though!
who tf directed this?
No matter how many ADS. I aint buying a propain
Nice Ad still not going to buy one :@(
just buy an old dh bike, thats a perfect freeride bike
I still like how DH frames with single crown look, Idk I feel like Freeride category bike looks kinda meh compared to a DH bike with single crown
It's about riding not looking B

Nothing Christina does is worth the time to watch it. This is a blatant advertisement and shes an obvious fangirl.
Question for you: hows Vin Diesel?😉 great video
