- The Pen Tool in PaintShop Pro is the tool if you need to do a perfectly sharp cut out of an object from its background. The Pen Tool is a bit of a challenge but once mastered it will become one of your most powerful tools.
got the hang of this now, where other videos failed! what I've been trying to do for ages! Thanks for the hours you've saved.
This is the best video I have seen for using Paint Shop Pro's draw and node tool. You taught me how to use these tools - Thank you.
One thing I wanted to mention is that you can go to selections and use the Smooth tool to make your selection more smooth or round, etc.
Very nice. I've had trouble with bezier curves. This will definitely help that. The skills of people that get really good at PSP are amazing.
I looked at several videos on this subject, but there was always information or a small detail missing that it never worked - your explanation is complete and precise and I did my cut out the first time. Thank you so much for your help!

Teaching is a lost art.
Have owned several versions of Paint Shop Pro in the past and had taken a break after losing the ability to get a clean and crisp cutout after an upgrade. Not sure why or what happened, but limited time didn't allow to relearn the newer version or explore what had happened.
I've continued to get update offers and just recently got a Black Friday offer that's very inviting. Time has freed up quite a bit and have a much newer system, so thought I'd check. Online to see if anyone had insight on the cutout tools. This video,
Far above and beyond others I've watched on the same topic, will most like pull me back into the loop.
The tools look like they are very easy to use and very capable of doing precision extractions that won't bleed when doing alphas.
Thank you for posting this video... If you are not on Corel's content creator demos list, you should be. They should bring people like you on board to showcase their product, while supplying you their product at no charge in exchange for you sharing your knowledge.

Thank you! this is so easy and the magic wand tool is so hard-at least for me. This is exactly what I wanted to know how to do. I just extracted something I was unable to extract with the magic wand tool. I'm going to do another one now. Thanks, again!
Thank you for the explanation. I do really miss photoshop, and since I can't get it anymore I bought paint shop pro, but men, it is a bit hard to get along with the program.

At 12:30 a short cut is to right click on the layer you want to extract from, and select Promote Selection to Layer. Voila - it appears in a new layer. Simple.

Have to try this, do a lot of removing backgrounds and this looks like a better way. Looked at a couple other tutorials by others and yours was much easier to understand. Thanks

If you figure out how to draw a straight line after a Bezier curve, please share. I know it is possible as I accidentally did it in one project. But I cannot replicate what I did.
Play for the comment. I don’t much stuff because my eyes have betrayed me making it too difficult. I really can’t remember how to do it but I’m sure there is a way. I’ll see if I can figure it out through one of my contacts let you know.
@@richardbergsteinson2263 I managed to find a workaround by changing the node type, which slows down workflow if alternating between straight lines and curves. I look forward to the results of your research.
prity cool but if you have the speakers on to listen to your self than you should turn them or turn them down a little bit because the mic can hear them.
+projecto maker Very strange - I use a head set microphone and do not have any speakers on my computer. Sorry it gave feedback ...
