That could be taken two ways. Either he's having a dig at Roger for being a control freak or, since they are friends, he could be saying that he actually quite likes the thought of having some guidance from him.
They all laughed, you can see it but the audio was cut. Nick is fine with Roger, remember on the tour Roger joined him in New York for Set The Controls.
@@MatthewGeoffino There's no point in being pissed, I live in CA and there would have been no way I could have seen it in person anyway. It's online, they should have somehow included it the Blu-ray release.
Met Nick & Roger & Nick in particular is a truly lovely man & his kindness that first day i met him back in Edinburgh Scotland all those years ago great man & great musician 👌⭐️👌
@@farrellmcnulty909He knows better than to try and spit on me lol 😂 The profile pic was his reaction a bit dazzled and confused! Seriously I was surprised at how chilled he was but was 20 years ago 🍀👍
I am sad that so many people are unaware of these works of art by The Pink Floyd since 67-72, but, I am glad that after 40 years, I will be able to SEE them! Yes, Pink Floyd is color music!
Thank you Mr.Mason and Band. We enjoyed the Buffalo concert Oct. 9, 2022. Seems that the band chose not to end on a dramatic song by adding Bike to the final encore. Is it because that song is really good, or what we really wanted to hear, a peaen to Syd, or just wanting to leave the audience with something not so serious in these rather serious and unfriendly times globally, socially, environmentally ?
Nick and company, you are treasured. Thank you so much for honoring this music, which is such an uplifting and important part of my life. I’m so grateful to each one of you.
You know Nick, I wouldn't be to hard on yourself or your relationship with Roger. Roger was designed for the role he played in this life. He's almost a 'larger than life' experience. Watching Roger & David apart for all of these years, it's easy to see where the resistance between the 2 of them would've come from. Great work Nick, I'm glad you pur together an act of your own, to get on the road again. Keep up the great work. Thanks for all the years, & the effort. Class act. Never get tired of listening to 'Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun'.
What a superb band and what wonderful camaraderie they have too, such a delight to hear them play and also a delight to hear their banter. Best new boy band of 2020!! Best album of the 20’s so far. More please lads!👍👍👍👍
Thank you Nick for bringing back the early music. Obscured by Clouds is a favourite of mine among the early repertoire, along with Syd's music. As a matter of fact I fulfilled a lifelong dream to see the amphitheatre in Pompeii a few weeks ago. There is even a poster from that movie from that era at the entrance. Angd guess what? I played "Echoes" while I drove my caravan up the motorway near Vesuvius! :)
Be honest, during Nick’s answer to the final question, how many found that their hay-fever seemed to have flared up again? A really excellent piece. Thanks to everyone who is keeping this music alive.
Nick Mason makes drumming looks easy but it is not...Nick is and always has been one of the most underrated drummers in rock, there is no other drummer like him. His timing is impeccable and his creative style made Pink Floyd what they were. What he is doing now with "Saucerful of Secrets" is just totally amazing, and Roger thinks so too. Fantastic. All these guys in the band are just wonderful too. Bloody fantastic!
Matthew Geoffino The Floyd were certainly different as I remember. They played on the 19th Jan. I saw cream on Tuesday 10th. Jan. The one I did miss was Hendrix who played a couple of shows as well.
This band was an absolute treasure and I’m so glad it happened and it was a privilege to get to here these old underrated gems in a live setting played by great musicians
Fantastic group, and I'm looking forward to next year and seeing you - lockdowns permitting - keep the spirit of Floyd going. You're a National Treasure Nick/Chaps.
Dear all band, yesterday I attended the Eindhoven gig. This project is BRILLIANT. It was a lovely experience. First time hearing oldies goldies in hi fi ❤️
I met Mr Mason at golden hill fort Isle of Wight back in the 90s ,I was so off my head I didn't know who I was talking to , but what a top bloke , I was like the fan meeting the guy who's music I had been listening to all my life but dident recognize him from Floyd lol , we talked music , we talked drugs n girls , he gave me sound advice as a off my head 18 yr old on class a drugs , which after a few years faded altho I still love the smoko at 46 yrs old today . My bass playing dident ever come to much professionally and made my money in construction, but I still love to slap the bass , music will always be such a major part of my life thanks to legends lke Mr Nick Mason . Top bloke )
Im still buzzing from last nights show, absolutely flabbergasted by the ghost of past memories. I still remember first hearing la vallee and when some of those tunes where played, I cried! So emotional 💚💓
Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you I love this band. And I absolutely love all of the old songs. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to show such respect for these excellent Pink Floyd songs.
You Guys gel really well with each other! And the Music is Unbelievable!!! Thanks So Much! Nick give my Love to Roger, it's good to see you're still Good friends!
Wow, some lovely comments there. I'm going to pick up on a quite obscure one (no pun intended) and say a big thank you to Dom for his playing on Obscured By Clouds, because that was the first of several moments when I first saw you guys when I completely lost it and the tears started to flow. A big moment for me which I'm unlikely to ever forget.
Nick, we love you! And loved Pink Floyd from the beginning! And you were there creating it! So glad to see you out there plowing on! Like me, no matter how old you get, playing live is the best!!!
I am extremely glad that all you gentlemen weathered the storm of initial disapproval and unwarranted criticism. A charming and wonderful delight and you have emphatically proved all the naysayers wrong. Thank you.
If you haven't heard it, listen to Guy Pratt's & Gary Kemp's podcast, "Rockonteurs". They've had three episodes so far, the first being with Nick Mason. It's WONDERFUL, like hanging out with the guys, lots of good material. Episode 2 is Bob Geldof, and 3 is Chris Difford from Squeeze.
Saw you play in Amsterdam a couple of years ago and it’s got to be one of my all-time favourite concerts. I had planned to pop into a cafe and grab a space cake beforehand, but in the end, I’m glad I didn’t have time, as I can look back on the show and actually remember it.
You guys rocked Detroit so damned hard last Friday. I have jammed to every drop of Pink Floyd since discovering the music in 1981 at 13 years old on my ever progressing expensive headphones and stereo equipment, but nothing and I mean NOTHING prepared me for sitting 5th row center and having every cell in my body layed bare by 100+ decibels of music from the mountain top... THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! (Fulfilled a lifetime dream to hear Floyd LIVE) P.S. I was not the guy. "WOOING" ever louder throughout the show...
Finally got to see these guys this year after the postponements due to covid. So glad I did it's an amazing show. And now with echoes added to the set which i wouldn't have seen on the original date
I love both Gilmour as a frontman and Roger as a lyricist so bad, my favorite duo by far (sorry John and Macca), true. But... and it`s a big but: THIS is just what we needed!!! They freaking nailed it ! It sounds way better than the original (for obvious reasons), Guy Pratt is a legend (also such a gentleman). This is one the best Floyd experiences ever, I wish it became a thing. CHEERS !!!
These guys were so good live. Saw them in Nimes 2019. Lucky enough to have a sunny after noon by the hotel pool with them. The evenings show was sensationally good.
I'm beyond thrilled to hear their favourite album is A Saucerful of Secrets, since it's mine too! And I love that these guys get on so well, it's clearly evident in how damn good their performances were.
Nick's favorite album is Saucerfull?? WOW ! I never thought I would listen a Floyd member saying this. It makes total sense if you think about it. Nick's contribution (like Rick's) went downwards after Dark Side... They started as 4 people equally contributing to the music, to an one (or two)man show. Nick is the reason that I started playing the drums, and his early work in songs like Careful with that Axe Eugene influenced me like any other musician. Live at Pompeii was a turning point in my life and Saucerfull of Secrets along with Ummagumma are the albums that I ALWAYS come back to.
Watching you guys in Phoenix was an incredible experience, and to host the first rock concert at the Madison Center for The Arts, that is simply epic. Just about all my favorite early Pink Floyd songs were played. Thank you for an epic show. If there were any songs missing that I would like to request, I could only think of 2. Let There Be More Light(that is my favorite song off of Saucerful of Secrets if I only base it off the album recording) and Take Up Thy Sethoscope & Walk( I know Roger wrote it, but it's still my favorite song to showcase Syd's experimental guitar style)
That pause after the question asking if they want to reunite with Roger on stage again was fucking hilarious-you can literally see them going "........"
The question wasn’t about reuniting it was “what are the band’s thoughts on Roger joining the band for a song in New York City?” and we were all expecting Nick to answer, which he eventually did, because he had the great story about Roger leaving his phone in the cab and not being able to contact him to let us know he was coming.
This band is Floyd reborn, marvellous, one of the only bands i'd like to see, i couldn't sit through more than half a dozen later floyd songs, even though they are all individually good
In an unrelated comment, every time my cat does something "weird" I go..." 🎶that cat's something I can't explaaaiiin🎶 "...in a thick imposter English accent (I'm from Chile)
I love early Pink Floyd. I never cared for the wall and find the Final cut unlistenable. Animals was ok. Saucer full of secrets is probably my favorite Floyd album too.
I would be beyond thrilled if this became a regular thing. Nick is a treasure and we must protect him at all costs

I’m so happy that there are 3 different Pink Floyd groups that cover the different eras of the band that tour live.
Syd Barrett was one of those rare individuals - a true original and it showed in his music.

Thank you Gary. They are GREAT songs and there isn't one that we don't look forward to playing.
