Hi, Ken. Glad that you're here and had the chance to try our brand new high speed train. You have lots of experiences in Malaysia and The Philippines, so I hope your visit here gives us all some new insights and perspectives. In fact, the first time I knew you was from a video of another RUclipsr. As a rail enthusiast, of course this is exciting! Did you manage to take Jakarta's MRT/LRT/airport train as well? Padalarang is an existing railway station, but then they added a new part for the high speed train service. From Padalarang, you may transfer to the local train to city center or take an intercity train to other parts of Java. Anw, Tegalluar itself is still in the outskirts of Bandung, you need continue the journey by another mode of transportation to city center.
Congrats to Indonesia for benefitting the most out of the competition between Japan and China, with relaxed financing and technology transfer, Indonesia definitely got the best deal.
Hahaha, China has no intention of competing with Japan, after all, the market will determine who is better. The Chinese government is just responding to the "the Belt and Road" policy and hopes that countries will become more prosperous. This is also the reason for the transfer of high-speed rail technology. (Of course, China is not a pure good person. He hopes that you can come and buy Chinese products when you are richer.)🥰🥰🥰
Why would we be thankful? You sound like this train was a free gift. We paid them, and we got what we wanted . where are u from btw ? bet you are jealous malay

Not wrong for him to take pride. If you compare to what India is doing, zero technology transfer from Japan, higher rice... go figure.
Even with a speed of 350km/h you still need 4 to 6 hours for a trip inside China for some routines, imagine how massive China is. The current line of Indonesia needs to build extra line to connect more cities even more East Asian countries till then you could truely understand how powerful this train could be.
High-speed trains that take 4 to 5 hours are not an everyday activity in China. Only on business trips during holidays would one take such a long high-speed train. In fact, high-speed trains within an hour are common in China.
Wifi is available on most China high speed trains when I was travelling there, but I didn't use it because you have to download an app and it only has chinese version. In any case, I have already bought a local SIM card, so wifi onboard isn't important to me. I think it's up to the Indonesian authority whether they want to provide free wifi onboard, which is additional cost to them. Maybe this is not a long haul train journey (about 40mins), so they prob don't see the need to? Also I saw an intro by other vloggers, there's a dining section.

Great that you had so much time to take pictures of the train before it departs. Usually in China, the trains will only stop for a couple mins or so before leaving the station. You don't have much time to get onboard and settle down.
We have a fast train in the UK called a Pendolino (not as fast as the Whoosh though), a few months ago I took a journey and felt really ill for no apparent reason, on my return a few days later I was ill again. It turns out that the leaning of the train to take corners/bends induces travel sickness. I'm really enjoying your Indonesia trip and seeing how super friendly the locals are.
Pendolino (from Italy) is a tilting train. In order to run at high speeds on old railways, the carriages of this train will automatically tilt. Many people will get motion sickness. Whoosh runs on newly built dedicated high-speed lines and does not have this problem.
Very informative video of the train ride, Ken 👍👍. Thanks so much for sharing your journey! Looks like it’s not really that popular eh, with less than 30% seats taken and none in first class 😯.

Semoga kalian semakin makmur!

Good job... Indonesia our brother country...(from philippines)
Saw your videos in Shanghai. Now I see you traveling on whoosh in Indonesia. You seem always happy. Contagious personality. Cool!
He hopes that you can come and buy Chinese products when you are richer.)🥰🥰🥰
yes, don't take it as granted. you are very lucky and should be thankful of the generous gift from China.
Why would we be thankful? You sound like this train was a free gift. We paid them, and we got what we wanted . where are u from btw ? bet you are jealous malay

Congrats, Ken! Nice to see your review! Glad you enjoyed the trip!
What a great ride Ken-I am super impressed with the Voosh🎉

Take a panoramic train from Bandung to Jakarta if you want to see scenery. Btw there are some new luxurious train routes go to Java, with suites.
Ken has already voiced concerns about feeling dizzy on the high-speed train. Taking the overnight train to Suroboyo could prove fatal for him.😂
Those trains look 100x more interesting than this one.
Why is it so polished? Complete finishing touch. They do not leave even a morsel. I feel very impressed whenever I watch foreign railway station or airports videos from here in my country India. They don't need airport. Railway statiin is infact more opulent.
Wow Congratulations Indonesia!
Such a beautiful train... Love from India 🇮🇳 ❤️ 🇮🇩
Soon we will getting our first bullet train too... This century is for Asia to rise
Yeah for sure asia have to shine.
Sadly India is paying more and at the same time getting no technology transfer. One wonders if India's politicians is really doin what's best for their own people.
@@karthur3421yup politic sucks, India chosen japan because they dont trust China
@@karthur3421 why sadly bro ? Indian bullet train length is over 500 km so obviously we have to pay more... And i dont think India needs technology transfer... India is capable of making world class trains, we already made semi high speed train ....and exporting metro trains to western countries and passenger trains in neighbor countries and at the end of the year India will run it's first and world's only 3rd hydrogen capable train...

This 350 km/h highspeed train is the national pride of Indonesia !!!
but it is made in china
@@Jasperchan-w2uand what’s wrong with that? China already transfer its technology to Indonesia, so they can build their own infrastructure and bullet train later
@@Jasperchan-w2u how is it made "IN" china lol... actually it is jointly built by china and indonesia "IN Indonesia", 40/60 shares, because china is willing to transfer technology to Indonesia, so while china is the main builder, indonesians also participated and contributed alot. Not wrong for him to take pride. If you compare to what India is doing, zero technology transfer from Japan, higher rice... go figure.
@@karthur3421 it is still made in china the design is the same as the one in China. Just like Taiwan HSR is made in Japan. Face the facts

kan Nex you go to. Bandung - Jogyakarta by Panotamick Tran. Jogyakarta and Surakarta ( solo ) the centran culture of Java.
The train looks so nice n classy. A happy ride to Bandung, Ken. 👍😄
thanks a lot 😊
Congratulations Indonesia for the big leap in technology! ASEAN future ia looking good.
The same as what I saw in my hometown, China. Great Indonesia.
Also I saw an intro by other vloggers, there's a dining section.
welcome to China,I’m in shenzhen and hongkong
Great content. I love it as always. Thank you Ken.👍👍👍😍😍😍
Thanks again!😊

Mr Ken,,, 3 and 2 configuration of seat is same as third class bullet train in China,,
The fastest train in China are from Beijing to Shanghai call Fuxing maglev train 430++ km hour,, but I didn't try it,
I only took twice bullet train,,
From Xinning Qinhai at Tibetan hi country to Lanzhou Gansu
And from Chengdu to Mianyang Shichuan,,
But I still prefer the normal electric Green Train called Hua cher train 180 km hour so that I can enjoyed scenery a long the way,,
Kudos to Bapak Jokowi bringing this Hi speed train to Indonesia,
I think Malaysia do not want to do this hi speed train because it's not economically in long run only stick to normal speed electric train 160 km hour . Malaysia is a small country do not need such a mega project,, my two cent thinking,,
Stay safe and stay happy,,

We have a fast train in the UK called a Pendolino (not as fast as the Whoosh though), a few months ago I took a journey and felt really ill for no apparent reason, on my return a few days later I was ill again. It turns out that the leaning of the train to take corners/bends induces travel sickness. I'm really enjoying your Indonesia trip and seeing how super friendly the locals are.
I see. Interesting. Europe has fast train as well
UK`s gov just busy following big brother the US on politics and military, some basic infrastructure or tech even not as good as what China has now.
Pendolino (from Italy) is a tilting train. In order to run at high speeds on old railways, the carriages of this train will automatically tilt. Many people will get motion sickness. Whoosh runs on newly built dedicated high-speed lines and does not have this problem.
Fantastic technology & Indonesia is so lucky. The rest of Asia may have to wait or never experience one locally.
