Tobe, mate, as parts 1 and 2, brilliant insight. As you say, yours' and your late friend's philosophy to never give up can extend to all walks of life. Building resilience is effing hard sometimes, but giving up and regretting it, is a damn sight tougher. Thanks for these walk n talks.
Thanks for watching, and life is a challenge no matter what wall of life, I think the trick is to believe you can do it and keep that belief alive by doing it….
I am loving these videos Toby! Always admired your voice in Little Angels, I was really surprised way back when you split up just when it seemed like you was on a course for bigger things again. Jam, in my opinion, was a level above Young Gods in terms of song writing and production, but still sounded like Little Angels. Then you ended. Information as to why seems sketchy, wikipedia provides little insight even after all these years. I wondered if it was as a result of the climate change in mainstream rock? But to comment on this part of the story, failure. Yep, I have experienced that. In 1995 I moved from Swansea to join a Spanish band in Madrid. They'd recently toured with Gun and seemed like it was a much better chance at doing something than staying in Wales. So I quit my job, flew my drums out to Madrid with my meagre savings of £1800 to join a band that had just the week before supported Van Halen in Madrid. Little did I know at the time that was about as big as that band got. Two years later, having blown my savings long ago just to survive, worked a few jobs. We'd made an album, I had hand in writing of it (lyrics as I was the only native English Speaker) Neil Peart, I was NOT!! It was released and sold... F.A.! We did a small tour of Spain (and Mexico prior) to support it, which was fun, but as there was internal issues with the Label, Singer quit, I went back home and joined a cover band and that's where I have been since. On the cover band circuit.
Almost like my hike vids in the south mate, though of course yours are music based mine are awaiting the North again as the county in the south is too tame, too flat and too saturated with people. Great insignt musically as always. 👏 I gave up music entirely because of failure
Follow up comment, well played man, inspired enough to go share this vid with a handful of musical buddies, Thanks again Toby.
Cheers pal, hope it helps!

Positive, positive, positive, i can get through this, if i just remain positive...^^
Life can be a drag…if you let it be! Nothing is easy, but it ‘a much harder to fail and live with regret x
