I was Raven 45 at Long Tieng for most of 1969. Far too few understand the incredible bravery and resolution of the Hmong pilots. No one anywhere has ever been as dedicated and fearless as they were.

Thank you for honoring these fallen heroes and the other T28 pilots. They gave the ultimate sacrifice. I'm honored to know that I have two uncles here in this tribute, one that sacrificed all, and a second that is still alive. As a people, we Hmongs can best honor their memories by living our lives to the fullest. Strive to be the best that we can be and never settle for anything less, so the deaths of these fallen heroes along with the 10000 plus hmong heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in the battlefield will not be in vain. They died so we could have a better life. Honor their lives by living yours to its fullest potential!

I was young and would have not known these many Hmong heroes and countless others if you had not posted them here. Many thanks to you, Thuy Smith, so that we, the younger generations, will live our lives by reflecting on their sacrifices.

the hmong soldier on the ground was just as brave... they actually held the vietcong and ho-chi mein trail and stop supply roots in veitnam. I was told that we could’ve won the war but the u.s decided to pull out at the last moment when we had the upper hand....

Today so many Hmong people still not understand what cause the 15 years war in Xiengkhoua, Laos. Just because Vang Pao want a lot of US dollars for himself. If he didn't signed the documents of the secret war it would not happen to our 35.000 thousands hmong people lives. Is there any sin for it?

I felt American was just using us to test their cheapest technology. If you go search on RUclips, during the 70s they have already built the best war aircraft than the T28 that flies 10 times faster. Again, if they really want to win the war the could've just attack from South China Sea, but it's all political and I thank them for that. That's why we get to come America.

    • @chongyang5732

Of course the Americans used us they are the best at that! If they want to win one atomic bomb we'll end anything?

Its downhearted to see so many young pilots perished in such kind of lao secret war into laos kingdom forces vs pathel laos armies. Some of them wants to use u, some of them want to use by u. Brave but should actually think twice on these secret or civil war because hmong identity in laos started as an migrants only which makes the difference between local people n hmongs. They gonna relinquished their king maybe supported too by U. S all because of destroying the supply tunnels in lao for viet minh. Win or loose, brave or coward, its another say, its abt their own future that too affect laos hmong too. Fight of land, property and wealth belong to people and nation or king began at laos too. Greed or humble? Its own's destiny depending on what occasions
