    Good day from Panama. Horace Silver is from Panama, and I would like to personally thank you for teaching your peeps this song. Thank you so very much. I'll Keep in Touch. Check out Carlos Garnett, as well. Forget about Danilo. He's just outhere. Smile. Great work, Man.

      Thanks Annette. It is nice when the theory starts to make sense. It certainly gets easier over time, but you're welcome to ask any questions should you get stuck.

    Hey guys, on the roman numeral front the Db7 should be labelled as VI7 - apologies! It's correct on the pdf at my website. Grab the tab and notation here: www.jazzguitarwithandy.com/blog/ob5925znz9c6obpj424apj0m1t5f0s

    In example 1e), shouldn't the first two Abs be eight notes instead of quarter notes? Very helpful lesson btw!

    Another great lessons, thank you. Quick question - why Eb Mix and then Db Lyd? Just trying to understand the theory or logic.

    • @jazzguitarwithandy
      @jazzguitarwithandy  3 года назад +1

      Well technically they are the same set of notes with Db Lydian and Eb mixo from the parent key of Ab. People would think about them differently to emphasise the chord tones. Does that make sense?

      @steveskidmore849 3 года назад

      @@jazzguitarwithandy yes - that makes great sense thank you. It's a bit of a Ureka moment actually - I've often thought how to work out what mode to use - I think you're saying most the time, use the Parent key (Ab/Fm) and get the mode from there - makes great sense thank you 👍👍👍👍

    The only chord wich is "out of key" is a bVI7 (not IV7), please correct if I am not right...

    • @jazzguitarwithandy
      @jazzguitarwithandy  3 года назад

      Yes! Just replied to your other comment. I must have been thinking of the parallel major of Ab to have put that. I'll correct the sheet.

    i don´t think the Db7 is not in the key of F minor....it´s rather another way of playing a Gm7b5 chord. And then it´s just a 251 in minor: Gm7b5 C7 Fm7 becomes Db7 C7 Fm7.

      I see what you mean Tina. I just see it as a super common chord to borrow, as the key would mean Db major 7, but then it’s easy to things too literally sometimes 😂 Love your channel btw. I’m sure I saw you play when I visited a jazz club in Berlin a couple years back.
