As someone with long hair figuring out what to do with my hair is always a bit of a challenge. This was such a great how-to video for a look that is both simple and also easily dressed up.

So lovely!! When I wore my Regency Ballgown last year, I had the opposite problem of long hair. So I bought a really cute 'fake curly bun' and it matched my hair color so well, no one thought it wasn't my actual hair lol. Regency fashion really is fun though!!

The Regency era is one of the best eras for experimentation in hairstyles.

Absolutely!! They had a lot of fun!! The 1820's and 30's get really wild too with hair!

Why do you think that the past 50 years haven't seen much experimentation with hair. I mean I look at the 1960s and there is some really big hairdos. It seems like hairstyles have stagnated since 1993 or so.@@HistoricalBelle

I think the last time we had really BIG hair as a trend was the early 1990's. I think as a trend, people are experimenting with volume less, and with color more. The late 90's and early 2000's defiantly had more of a sleek and incredibly straight hair, maybe with strands that were crimped as a trend. It also had more accessories for the hair, I'm defiantly thinking about butterfly clips. The late 2000's and 2010's had a lot more experimentation with layering and coloring of the hair. Especially Ombré hair, that was a huge trend. I also remember the huge donut buns being very popular.
