I love how this new movement of filming allows people to do good works for the community for free. I’ve been doing clean ups around my neighborhood no filming but through this cleaning and planting flowers I’ve met a lot of neighbors who appreciated my work. I now know my neighbors, this to me is the best payment ever! Keep it up guys if we all pitch in the world will be better.

I used to think that it was only small communities or farming communities, such as my dad grew up on made this happen. My dad brought this to the city. Now that he is in his 80s there are always people helping him too. I have passed on his legacy wherever I have lived too. I am so glad it is much more far reaching and common than I ever imagined.

I am incredibly impressed by the extremely high level of professionalism and safety demonstrated in this video. High visibility hoses, safety tape, signs, hearing protection, lifting tools, etc. A model for others.
The rocket ship reveal by drone was amazing! Someone put a lot of work in to designing and building this, and it was shame to let it get so filthy. You and your Dad rescued it! Beautiful work. Thank you.

It's damned hard to stop that surface getting filthy, all the fallen leaves & grass clippings that blow onto it break down & turn to muck that gets into it & promote moss growth, even if you've got someone with the time to sweep it every week, or better go over it with an outdoor leaf vacuum, you're still fighting a losing battle.
@beardyface8492 the council should just budget to hire someone like these guys to clean it once a year, plus regular maintenance. The solution isn't actually difficult.

Lovely work! Sadly, they designed this play area at a lower elevation to the garden around it. A barrier at the base of the fencing, might assist in preventing more dirt and water run off. Regardless, amazing work to you both in helping out your community. Wow.

It is truelly incredible how much dirt accumulated on that playground and then to imagine your kids were playing there, what a huge difference, loved to see it cleared up, such a great job!

Ben, watching and seeing the disregard by City Officials in maintaining these playgrounds is so infuriating. I think about all the funds/monies they spend on nonsensical projects. Amazing work. You and your dad did an great job. Unfortunately it looks like the community center has a pretty big drainage issue. The way the water wasn't moving at all means its probably either bowl shaped or perfectly level. The road side really should be replaced with a retaining wall as any water is just going to continue to wash dirt back into the playground, and then it probably needs a drainage channel cut around the parameter to channel water into a french drain. Still so few business take the time to assist with the public resources in their community. Great job.

the before and after was shocking! all the "colours" were grey, and you guys turned them back into yellow, orange & blue. the floor went from grimy sludge to black. amazing work!

I liked the first part "Introduction" well enough. But as one would assume from the titel it was pretty much just an introduction to this world. The prequel "Blasting Begins" is what really got me invested into the characters and their journey.

Ontario, Canada here. I noticed that a lot of your play spaces have that rubberized base and it looks so lovely after you’ve done your cleaning. So bright & fun. Well done. 👍🏼❤️ We rarely have that type of surface in our playgrounds.
Probably because it's a bit on the expensive side to put down, but it DOES make for a really tough and spongey playing area for kiddies. :D There's a lot of this stuff in the 2 parks near me (I'm in Australia), Here's it's pretty common, for some reason. Most parks with kids play equipment will have this as a base. It's very resilient to flood zones and won't float away if it's submerged for several days. It's good stuff! :D
@@TheMurlocKeeperit’s also a great base for inclusive play! Cheaper sand and bark bases can unintentionally exclude kids with different mobility or sensory needs-the stable rubber invites everyone to play 😄
This was such an amazing job, exceptionally well done! Tarmac is so difficult to clean, dirt emerges again and again no matter how long you clean it and this was both exhausting and time consuming to achieve. Lovely results, well done, Ben and dad! Those cosmic motives were rather symbolic - sky indeed is a limit for those with good will, determination and kind heart.
It looks like a resin compound to me, its the way the water is absorbed through it, I believe it prevents it becoming slippery when the temperature drops. Its a very popular choice for driveways nowadays.

Absolutely amazing, what an incredible transformation. You and your Dad work so hard at every single job you do, right up to the very end. That play safety surface must be so hard to clean as it just absorbs all the dirt back in. I wouldn't say safer I grew up with metal slides that gave 3rd degree burns. And there are shady places Iived were homeless people slept in the park and drug dealers did drugs. You mean cleaner and more attractive right? There's no dog poo and needles..
@@HosCreates safer too ,the kids don't risk slipping on moss and slimy surfaces , obviously there will always be risks , but that's why you don't leave children unattended.

Though I have been looking forward to this clean, as you are cleaning, the extent of the grime becomes very apparent. I'm so glad you and your Dad worked on this to improve it. Looks like a job where thrown dirt will make a large batch of extra rinse-down. The huge difference between cleaned and not-yet shows at 9:39. Your Dad was doing well with the surface cleaner. You are remembering the tremendous amount of rinsing needed on play areas, I am looking at detailing...the fence, the bench, the equipment, the exterior rinse-off, sludge, cleanup. It just is a lot of things totaled. That is a pretty amazing restoration photo from the drone. A great gutter toy for your kids.

Should have designed a natural playground with trees and wood chips instead of the toxic plastic playground that is difficult to clean 🤷♀️

It's not entirely flat is the problem.
It's a sort of rubberised sponge type tarmac...
It doesn't just get covered in dirt it get FULL of dirt.

We rarely have that type of surface in our playgrounds.
Probably because it's a bit on the expensive side to put down, but it DOES make for a really tough and spongey playing area for kiddies. :D
There's a lot of this stuff in the 2 parks near me (I'm in Australia), Here's it's pretty common, for some reason.
Most parks with kids play equipment will have this as a base. It's very resilient to flood zones and won't float away if it's submerged for several days.

Our playground flooring is usually made of recycled car tyres.

This was such an amazing job, exceptionally well done! Tarmac is so difficult to clean, dirt emerges again and again no matter how long you clean it and this was both exhausting and time consuming to achieve. Lovely results, well done, Ben and dad! Those cosmic motives were rather symbolic - sky indeed is a limit for those with good will, determination and kind heart.
Don't say sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon.
It looks like a resin compound to me, its the way the water is absorbed through it, I believe it prevents it becoming slippery when the temperature drops. Its a very popular choice for driveways nowadays.

That was incredible Ben and Paul!! Some of those colors were not even visible until afterwards! I was amazed at the amount of grime and moss that came out of that surface. I wouldn't say safer I grew up with metal slides that gave 3rd degree burns. And there are shady places Iived were homeless people slept in the park and drug dealers did drugs. You mean cleaner and more attractive right? There's no dog poo and needles..
@@HosCreates safer too ,the kids don't risk slipping on moss and slimy surfaces , obviously there will always be risks , but that's why you don't leave children unattended.

Though I have been looking forward to this clean, as you are cleaning, the extent of the grime becomes very apparent. I'm so glad you and your Dad worked on this to improve it. Looks like a job where thrown dirt will make a large batch of extra rinse-down. The huge difference between cleaned and not-yet shows at 9:39. Your Dad was doing well with the surface cleaner. You are remembering the tremendous amount of rinsing needed on play areas, I am looking at detailing...the fence, the bench, the equipment, the exterior rinse-off, sludge, cleanup. It just is a lot of things totaled. That is a pretty amazing restoration photo from the drone. A great gutter toy for your kids.
